ITEMS OF INTEREST Saturday Evening, February 9th,

our Young Married Guild will hold a night of Games in the Marcus Loew Auditorium to raise funds for their Social Service activities. Subscrip­tion is $1.50 a couple, and we invite Temple families and their friends to attend and enjoy the evening.

Tuesday Evening, February 12th, our Rodeph Sholem League will hold an Evening devoted to "Recent De­velopments in Palestine". The speak­er will be Mrs. Alexander M. Dush­kin, member of the National Board of Hadassah, and Chairman of the Vocational Education Committee. Mrs. Dushkin, whose husband is the Executive Director of the Jewish Edu­cation Committee, has lived in Pales­tine for many years, and is intimate­ly acquainted with the economic, so­cial and political situation in the Holy Land.

Our War Service Committee is planning a n entertainment at Mit­chell Field, Wednesday Evening, February 24th. Our Auxiliary Or­ganizations are furnishing the Hosts and Hostesses for the occasion and the expense will be met by the Ser­vice Men's Fund of our Temple.

OUR MEN'S ASSOCIATION

A large Committee of the Men's Association has undertaken an in­tensive Campaign to contribute to the success of the Affair on April .7th at Carnegie HalL whereby it is plan­ned to write finis to the mortgage indebtedness of the Temple. Through the medium of our "Chronicle", Mr. Samuel Kolin and Mr. Arnold W. Becker, Chairmen of our. Men's As­sociation Committee, appeal to our members to aid in making the Cam­paign a complete and inspiring suc­cess. Contract blanks for advertise­ments in the Journal which will be published for the Affair, may be ob­tained at the Temple Office. Mem­bers are urged to make their reser­vations for tickets while they are still available. We appreciate the cooperation of Mr. Herbert E. Herr­man, one of our members, who has made ' it possible by his gift, for all of the boys of our Temple Scout Troop No. 502 to attend the "Show of Shows",

The next meeting of our Men's Association will take place Tuesday Evening, February 19th. Matters of importance are to be discussed re­lating especially to returning Service Men, and their part in our future program. The Entertainment Com­mittee is planning an enjoyable so­cial evening.

Mrs. Irving J. Nethe, Chairman for Rodeph Sholom, urges our Congre­gants to respond generously when the Uni.ted Jewish Appeal turns to you. We have a challenging respon­sibility to meet, cind we must do our maximum in aiding our destitute fellow-Jews. Thousands of homeless children must be rehabilitated. A LETTER FROM ABROAD Mrs. Lillian Guckenheimer, Chair­

man of Charity and Defense Sewing, has received a letter of appreciation forwarded to the Layette Sewing Group for a gift of clothing, sent abroad to aid in the rehabilitation program for underprivileged children of'Europe: "One week ago I received your most welcome box containing the baby clothes, for which I thank you very much. It is lovely of you to send me those ' pretty things, which . are so badly ne'eded here. My little 'daughter will be able to use the flannel shirts, the wool blan­ket, and the linen cothes. My sec­ond baby of eight weeks will be able to use the flannel tremple. As soon as I have ' photographs of the children I will send you some.
