Well the 2013 ERCS Auc-tion took place last Satur-day. It appeared to go quite well. There were around 302 items sold and approx-imately 89 bidders showed up for the event.
The prize item this year was an electric CL415 Canadair (Bombardier) Water Bomber, followed closely by a large scaled Extra 330L and an aerobat-ics Venus 2.
Membership support for this event was stupendous and on behalf of the mem-bership, I would like to thank everyone who came out to help. The team work was second to none, and without the outstanding help that each of you gave, events like this could fail miserably.
The callers this year came from our own resources and compared to previous years where we had profes-sional auctioneers, did an outstanding job pushing things off the block.
Dependent on the wrap meetings to be held, more detailed information on the event will be presented at the October and November meetings. (Also, more on this event in the Last Flight section of this Newsletter.)

President’s Msg
Woke up this morning to a sight I didn’t want to see “snow”, and it was cool out, maybe it will go away and give some of us more flying time I’m hoping. Fall is always the best for weather and flying. In the past few weeks there was still a lot of activity at the field, which was great to see. I even had a few flights on small electric jet that I purchased; I was amazed on how well it flew.
Our road into the field is still under water hopefully it will be rectified soon but for now, as you know the west entrance to the property is usable.
The Auction was held this past weekend with a good amount of items. Along with a good crowd, we had a great group of volunteers who made things run pretty smoothly and we were finished by late
afternoon. I don’t have a tally yet so no comments on that until the reconciliation is done. But thank you to all of you that came out to volunteer, sell and buy.
The meeting coming up on Wed. the top-ic of discussion after the meeting is going to be on winterizing your gear. It is not going to be one person’s opinion on this, but all of you together not everyone does it the same and there might be some bet-ter ideas of what should be done. So think about it and bring your knowledge to the meeting, I know I’d like to hear what you bring to the discussion. See you then

year, and if not for the assistance of the members that came out to help, such might not have been the case. Great Job everyone. We had some very special vol-unteers this year. Family members who came out and pitched in with the rest of us. Special thanks go out to Sheri Wonitoy and Soffie Cosby, who kept the coffee hot and ensured we didn’t run out of nummies in the concession, to Sue Boisvert, who’s data entry skills allowed us to get things up to the block on time (had it been me, we’d still be at the auc-tion today waiting for things to be entered into the database) and to Mike Lourie who gave up his day off to come help move stuff from the block to the storage area. Special mention and thanks go out to Bruce Cutting, Deryl Kartz, and Peter Cary, our auctioneers for the day and to our whip, Bruce Bender who organized the event and ensured everything ran smoothly. A huge thank you to the people that participated as buyers and sellers.
To those who donated items to the club, words cannot portray our appreciation.
As a club, we would like to thank Hobby Wholesale for use of the debit machine which allowed us to offer alternative payment methods to our bidders.
Well, that’s it for now (ELECTIONS NEXT MONTH, think about it!!!!)
See you at the meeting. Till next time, keep those wings level.
Not a huge Newsletter this month, no activity reported by anyone and very little activity in the Forums on the Website..
Anyway, the regular flying season is just about over for those of us that are fair weather pilots. Time to put away the toys is just around the corner. BUT, it’s now time to pull out those projects and start building the new ships that will grace our skies next year.
Help out the Newsletter by posting your build in the ERCS Forum. Tell us what your going to accomplish over the winter period and share your building techniques with us.
It easy to do, just log into the ERCS fo-rum and start a new conversation.
Don’t have a log in?? No Problem!!! Contact our Webmaster, Todd Tate and get yourself set up. He can be contacted directly at one of our monthly meeting, or by clicking the “Email the Webmaster” link on the website.
That being said, this is the Second to Last Newsletter that I will be publishing (my last being the November Issue.) The club is desperately seeking someone to pick up the reins to carry it on. If you are inter-ested please contact me (my contact info is <— in the column to the left) and let me know. I can provide you with the past issues in Publisher Format.
