ANALYZE LEARNERSMy students are ninth graders from Wayne County, West Virginia. There are 26 students total with 10 girls and 16 boys. They are all pretty tech savvy and hands-on learners.

STATE OBJECTIVEMy students will be introduced to Fantasy Football, and they will be divided into four “teams.” They will then have to come up with a team name and team colors by the end of the class period. Each person in the groups must participate for credit.

SELECT METHODS, MEDIA, & MATERIALSMy method for this day is to use visual learning and interaction with their peers. It will be a chance for students with ADHD to be able to talk without being scolded, and a chance for students to make new friends.

UTILIZE MEDIA & MATERIALS My students will walk in to the room and see photo I made on Photoshop. Without explaining it, I will play a Voki for the class to peak their interest in what is to come. I will then introduce them to Fantasy Football by having them watch a video. In order to make this assignment work in a week, my students will be split into four “teams.” Because there are 26 students, two teams will have 6 students and two will have 7. Each team will spend time in class deciding on a team name and team color(s). This will give the students a break from the quiet classroom and allow them to collaborate with their peers. At the end of the class period, they will present their decisions to the class.

REQUIRE LEARNER PARTICIPATION In order to receive credit for this day, every student must participate in the team decision making. I will make sure they are actively participating by posting their colors in a discussion thread on our class Facebook page.

EVALUATE AND REVISEAs students begin to collaborate in their groups, I will walk around and observe who is participating, and how well they get along. I will redo groups if needed, but for the most part they will have to work out all the kinks for themselves. I will continue to evaluate them each day.
