Young Inventors Challenge (YIC) 2019

The Young Inventors Challenge (YIC) aims to encourage secondary school students

between 13 to 17 years old to experience the merits of teamwork firsthand, by finding

innovative solutions to everyday science-related problems. YIC debuted in 2013 as a pilot

program and have had a remarkable response, with a steady participant growth of almost

100% yearly. This is our 7th year and we would like to update on the applications and

proposals received thus far. We are proud to announce that we have received

International Recognition from Ministry of Education, Malaysia for Young Inventors

Challenge in 2017 and 2018.

Zone Level Science Fair 2019

Some Zone Level Science Fair 2019 was held on 27 April 2019 in Kedah, Johor and

KL/Selangor.

Tamil Nadu Government, Department of School Education Top Students Study Tour;

Malaysia – Singapore

ASTI organise a study tour in Malaysia and Singapore for top students from Tamil Nadu from

5th May 2019 until 13th May 2019.

SI2TE 2019

SJK(T) Ladang Sungai Ular (Kulim) won gold & silver medal, meanwhile SJK(T) Wellesley won

a gold, a silver and three bronze in SI2TE 2019.

World Young Inventors Exhibition 2019 (ITEX 2019)

Outstanding achievements by Tamil schools in World Young Inventors Exhibition 2019 (ITEX

2019). Seventy (70) teams from twenty five (25) schools participated in the event. In total

these schools won 31 Golds, 32 Silvers and 7 Bronzes. All top three special awards were won

by Tamil schools in World Young Inventors Exhibition 2019. The 3 schools were SJK(T) Batu

Caves, SJK(T) Ladang Kinrara and SJK(T) Kajang.

Indonesia International Invention Festival 2019

Six Tamil Schools from Malaysia won gold and silver awards in Indonesia International

Invention Festival 2019. The 6 Tamil schools are SJK(T) Barathy (Silver), SJK(T) Ladang Sungai

Ular (Gold), SJK(T) Thiruvalluvar (Silver), SJK(T) Changlung (Gold), SJK(T) Mukim Pundut

(Gold) and SJK(T) Ladang Sungai Wangi (Silver).

International Conference of Young Scientists 2019

Aghilen Viknesh and Sharren Sivasamy from SJKT Ladang Mutiara Rini won gold award in

International Conference of Young Scientists 2019.

I-FINOG 2019 at Universiti Malaysia Pahang

Thirty nine teams from Tamil schools won at the I-FINOG 2019. They won 19 Gold, 15 Silver

and 5 Bronze.
