DIRECTOR/CHOREOGRAPHER BUD COLEMAN. In addition to his theatre work at the educational level, he has performed professionally with the CASA MANANA PLAYHOUSE, FORT WORTH BALLET, and FORT WORTH OPERA BALLET. He received a degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts, magna cum laude, from TCU in 1978. After his second season of summer stock at the Grandbury Opera House, Bud moved to New York City and was hired by LES BALLETS TROCKADERO DE MONTE CARLO, dancing under the names of Natasha Notgoudenuff and William Vanilla. After several national tours, engagements in Canada and Holland, he left the company and enrolled in the Univer­sity of Utah in Salt Lake City, receiving a Master of Fine Arts in Directing in 1982. Back in NYC, Bud worked as a member of Local #764 (Wardrobe Attendants Union), first at New York City Opera, and then for various Broadway produc­tions. As star dresser and wardrobe supervisor, he toured with the international company of DREAMGIRLS (USA, Toronto, Tokyo, Paris) and two editions of the Oldsmobile Industrial. After leaving M. BUTTERFLY--as star dresser to B.D. Wong--Bud moved to Austin in order to enroll in graduate school at the University of Texas. In addition to various teaching responsibilities at UT, Bud is also employed as an Adjunct Faculty member at St. Edward's University, and as an assistant instructor for the National Dance Institute's Austin Believe in Me! program.

MUSICAL DIRECTOR Dr. JENNIFER ARNDT. Spring 1992 marks Dr. Arndt's third semester as a member of the music department and her third MMNT musical. Dr. Arndt received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Texas in May 1988. While at UT she was very active in the Opera Division, singing roles ranging from Mademoiselle Silverpeal in Mozart's THE IMPRESARIO to Helene in HIN UN ZURUCK. In addition to performing, Dr. Arndt studied stage direction with Dr. Robert DeSimone and has used that experience in her direc­tion of SEU's Omni Singers and in staging musicals for church and civic organizations. This summer she will stage the Austin Civic Chorus' annual Children's Show, COME RIDE A RAINBOW, for the third year. Last spring Dr. Arndt began her performance career at SEU by playing the title role in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD. This year she has served as Music Director for MMNT's THE THREE PENNY OPERA as well as this current production. Dr. Arndt would like to take this opportunity to thank the St. Edward's theatre arts department for their support, the students for their hard work, and Mr. Paul Murphy, a fine pianist, collaborator, and friend.

PIANIST /CONDUCTOR PAUL MURPHY comes to Austin from Albuquerque, N.M. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano from the University of New Mexico and Texas Christian University, respectively . He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in music theory at UT where he is employed as a teaching assis­tant. He has worked in musical theatre in the Austin area for the past four years, most recently in SEU's production of THE THREEPENNY OPERA. In addition to his work at UT he is employed by Ballet Austin as a dance accompanist.

GUEST SCENIC DESIGNER Dr. DANIEL HANNON heads the Theatre Design and Technology program at Southwest Texas State University. When university duties permit he designs for other theatres. In the years past he has headed design programs at Kent State University, the University of Toledo, and the Universi­ty of California. Many of his designs may be seen at the Tobin Collection at McNay Art Museum in San Antonio. Re­cent designs in this area include: A NIGHT OF TERROR AT THE GRAND GUIGNOL, THE LION IN WINTER, and CHIL­DREN OF THE SUN for Southwest Texas State, HAIR for the University of Texas, and PYGMALION for Incarnate Word in San Antonio.

LIGHTING DESIGNER GARY VAN DER WEGE has been designing and providing technical services for the Austin area entertainment indus­try since relocating here in 1979. He has worked as resident designer for the Center Showcase Theatre in Michigan, Tech­nical Director for the Arkansas Opera, designed scenery and lighting for stage and video, worked as a set decorator, grip and scenic artist to T.V. and film, stagehand for touring com­panies and even acts now and then. Recent designs include scenery for THE ART OF DINING, MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, TRANSLATIONS, TALLEY'S FOLLEY, scenery and lighting for THREEPENNY OPERA and BEYOND THERAPY. An avid fencer, Gary has been invited to compete in the Mex­ican Olympic Festival in May.

GUEST COSTUME DESIGNER MICHAELE HITE has designed costumes in New York and California for the past 15 years. Her credits include an Emmy Nomination for Best Costume Design of THE DAMNATION OF FAUST seen on PBS' Great Performance series. Also a Great Performance and Live From Lincoln Center. Michaele has designed costumes for CARMEN, PIQUE DAME, and LA BOHEME with LUCIANO PAVAROTTI. Michaele has also designed costumes for CARMEN for the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo. Her theatre credits include AN EVENING OF PIRANDELLO with Danny Devito in New York and THE TAMING OF THE SHREW at the Huntington Theatre in Bos­ton. Recently, Michaele has designed for the San Antonio Shakespeare Festival's productions of MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM, and THE TAMING OF THE SHREW. Re­cently in Austin, Michaele designed set and costumes for the University of Texas' Music Department production of THE MAGIC FLUTE. Michaele lives in Austin with her husband and two children.

WHO'S WHO IN THE CAST AND CREW

TRACI L. ANDERSON (LUCINDA) is a transfer student from Austin, Texas. This is her debut performance at the MMNT. Her previous acting roles include A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM. Traci is active in Hilltopper Chorale and is majoring in History.

PETER BEILHARZ (CINDERELLA'S FATHER) is a graduate of SEU currently working on his MBA. Some of Peter's past credits at the MMNT include: ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, UNEXPECTED GUEST, MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, CHICAGO, and THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD .

PETRI A. BRILL (GRANNY) is a sophomore theatre major from Dallas . She has been in­volved in READERS THEATRE, PLAYS FOR LIVING, DIRECTING SCENES, SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL and most recently in the ART OF DINING . This is Petri ' s first official musical. Special thanks to her family, Brett and her Soulmate.

LESLIE BURGER (STAGE MANAGER) is a junior at SEU involved in her fifth production here since she transfered. She would like to thank the cast, Bud, Jennifer, and family, and David.

CHRISTINE DENNIS (NARRATOR) is a junior theatre major. The roles she has played on the MMNT stage include : Tony Stassio in ART OF DINING, Lady Teazle in SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL, Coaxer in THREEPENNY OPERA, Mrs. Butler in 1991 Summerstock's THE BUTLER DID IT, St. Teresa in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, Margaret in LIFE WITH FATHER, and June in CHICAGO.

KASSALIN FIG ER (ENSEMBLE) is a freshman theatre major and is very excited to be in­volved in this production of INTO THE WOODS . She would like to thank Patrice for giv­ing her the courage to pursue her dreams.

DIANA LYNN GEMBINSKI (ENSEMBLE) is a sophomore theatre major. She has been in the MMNT productions of LIFE WITH FATHER and THREEPENNY OPERA. She would like to thank her family and friends for all their love and support.

PATRICK GENDUSA (BAKER) is a senior theatre major from New Orleans. He was most recently seen as Tiger Brown in THE THREEPENNY OPERA. Other credits include: THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, CHICAGO, LOVE BY THE BOLT, and INTIMATE DANCE, A DUEL. Patrick would like to thank his parents for all their love . MARY PATRICIA HELTON (JACK'S MOTHER) is a full time staff member at the SEU bookstore. Recently she became a theatre major with a minor in music. She was last seen as Molly in THE THREEPENNY OPERA. She is also a volunteer member of the Hilltop­per Chorale. She would like to dedicate this performance to the memory of Philip Stansbury.

HEATHER HIRSHORN (FLORINDA /ASST. DIRECTOR) is a junior theatre major from Round Rock, Texas. She recently appeared on stage as Nessa Fox in THE ART OF DINING and as Sara Tansey in PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD. She would like to thank her family, her roomies, Marlise, and everyone else.

LORI ICE (ENSEMBLE) is a junior theatre major and is very happy to be making her third appearance on the MMNT stage. She would like to dedicate this show to the memory of her grandmother who was never able to see her perform.

GORDON JACKSON (STEWARD) is a junior theatre major . He has been involved with PLAYS FOR LIVING and he would like to thank his brother for helping him in a time of need .

MATT KELBAUGH (STEWARD) is a freshman business/ theatre major who is now working in the costume shop. This is Matt's debut performance on the MMNT stage. Re­cent costume work includes: ART OF DINING, and SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL. Matt would like to thank his huge family and the wonder dog .. . Phantom.

KELLY MEGOWN (LITTLE RED RIDINGHOOD) is a junior theatre major from Colum­bus, Ohio. MMNT audiences may remember her as Tillie in THE EFFECT OF GAMMA RAYS and as the stage manager for SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL. She would like to dedicate this performance to her grandma.

ANNE R. NAUGLER (ASST. STAGE MANAGER) is a freshman from Nashua, NH. She has appeared in such productions as: JUVIE, WHO AM I THIS TIME, and was voted best actress in high school in 1990 for her portrayal of Babe in CRIMES OF THE HEART. Most recently she was seen on the MMNT stage as Smith in THE THREEPENNY OPERA.

TREY OTIS (ASST. SCENE DESIGNER) is orginally from Huntsville, Texas. He has worked in technical theatre over much of the state, including: Houston Scenic Studios, Texas Shakespeare Festival, and as the Technical Director for the Granbury Opera House. A graduate of the University of Houston at Clear-Lake, Trey is currently working on his Master's Degree in Scenic Design at Southwest Texas State University.

JENNIFER O'QUINN (RAPUNZEL) is a junior theatre major from West Virginia. Previous appearances on the MMNT stage include: CHICAGO, LIFE WITH FATHER, DROOD, and most recently as Polly Peachum in THE THREEPENNY OPERA. She would like to thank her family, friends, and St. Ed's faculty.

AMY LEE PEARSALL (CINDERELLA) is a sophomore theatre major. Patrons may recognize her from the box office, as Maria in SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL, or as Ellen in THE ART OF DINING. She would like to thank her family, Bud, Paul, and Dr. Arndt for all of their aid and support.

ROBERT J. PUPELIS (JACK) is a senior theatre major from Chicago. Audiences may remember him as the slithery Snake in SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL. Other roles include Bob in BEYOND THERAPY, and John Jasper in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD. Rob has enjoyed his four years here at SEU and would like to thank all those that have given their love and support through the sometimes difficult and rewarding years of his education.

DAVID STOKEY (CINDERELLA'S PRINCE) has been seen on the MMNT stage as Ben in BEYOND THE HORIZON, Billy Flynn in CHICAGO, Matt in THE THREEPENNY OPERA, and Rowley in SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL. David would like to dedicate this per­formance to his new family: Mom, Dad, and Kim. He would also like to thank his friends for all their support.

BRIAN TOWNES (RAPUNZEL'S PRINCE) is a freshman theatre major from New Orleans. His past credits include high school, college, and professional theatre. Most recently Brian was seen in SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL.

LAURA A; WALBERG (BAKER'S WIFE) is a senior theatre major graduating in May. She has been seen in past productions of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM as Titania, CHICAGO as Go-To-Hell Kitty, Pegeen Mike in THE PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD, as well as Lucy Brown in THREEPENNY OPERA. Also added to her credits are IRMA LA DUCE, and ANNIE GET YOUR GUN. She's enjoyed her stay here at St. Edward's and will miss everyone. Special thanks to her family and friends for all their love and support.

CLAY STARNES WALTON (WOLF, MYSTERIOUS MAN) is a sophomore theatre major from Dallas and has been most recently seen as Moses in SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL. This semester Clay has been the Master Electrician for the productions of THE ART OF DIN­ING and INTO THE WOODS. Other credits include: THE THREEPENNY OPERA, THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD, BECKET OR THE HONOR OF GOD, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, and A CHRISTMAS CAROL.

AMY N. WILLIAMS (ENSEMBLE) is a sophomore theatre major and has previously been seen in THE PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD, SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL, and the title role in the Omni Singers production of CINDERELLA. She would like to thank her family, James and friends for all their love and support.

AMY YOUNG (CINDERELLA'S MOM) this is Amy's second musical at St. Edward's and her first chance to sing by herself. She would like to thank all of Devon's "Aunts", and her husband for showing her that she can have it all.

SARA YOUNGBLOOD (WITCH) is a sophomore from Amarillo. She was previously seen in THE THREEPENNY OPERA, PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD, and THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD. She would like to thank her family for their support and her Soulmate for helping her through life and all its surprises.
