Manningham Neighbourhood Watch Safety and Security for Senior Citizens Program Supporters: Victoria Police Manningham Community Health Manningham City Council This project has been funded as part of the Victorian Government's Community Crime Prevention Program Slide 2 Reasons for the Program At the request of the Manningham Police, NHW undertook the program to address the perceptions of some senior citizens that there was a high level of crime in the municipality. Publicity in the media of violent crimes generally, can lead some residents, particularly older citizens, to believe that Manningham is an unsafe place. The program was aimed at putting these incidents into perspective and to show that our municipality is in fact quite a safe place to live. The opportunity was also taken to refresh the audience's knowledge of basic home security and crime prevention techniques.
