From the Principal,
LHHS Friends and Families
We at Lake Havasu High School would like to welcome you to 2018 and hope that it will be as productive and prosperous as the previous year. As quickly as the first semester went by second semester is not holding back. Though first semester was full of activities and events second semester will be just as
busy with Winter Formal, State Testing, Prom, and Graduation.
April is the month when all testing begins. This April students will be taking the AzMerit end of course tests, Work Keys (Freshmen), ASVAB (Sophomores), AIMS Science(Biology Students), and ACT(Juniors). The testing that is listed provides useful information to not only our classroom teachers but to our coun-seling department as well. It is vital that student attendance on these days is a top priority. Testing
schedules will be released in the coming months.
Lastly I would like to announce, Jennifer Cady as the new LHHS Assistant Principal. Jennifer graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in music. She then later attained her masters in Educational Leadership from ASU. She is coming to us from the Dysart Unified School District and is highly recommended by many building level administrators in the Phoenix area. We are extremely excited to have Jennifer start the new semester with us. If you happen to be on campus please be sure to stop by her office to introduce
yourself and welcome her to LHHS and our community.
I would like to encourage you to please fill out our yearly parent survey. This provides us with valuable information that we look at to improve our school. Please take the time to fill out the survey at the fol-
lowing link:

Please stay involved in your teenager’s life to help ensure their successes here at Lake Havasu High
School.

Parents –
We are experiencing a large number of students who are in possession of vape pens, cartridges, and products.
These are not allowed at school. We are receiving complaints from other students that their classmates are
suspected of vaping in the restrooms and throughout the day. As vapor does not hang in the air like smoke and
is sometimes without smell, this is much more difficult to catch than cigarettes and marijuana. There are many
different types of vaping accessories and sometimes these look like chargers and pens. We are asking your as-
sistance in talking to your kids and being aware of what they are bringing to school.
Students found to be in possession of any vape pen or accessory whether there is nicotine in it or not will be
given 3 days of in school suspension. We will hand over the contraband to the Lake Havasu Police Department
to test it for marijuana. Students may be cited by the police. We have found students to be in possession of
marijuana vaporizers and oil. This will result in out of school suspension and arrest.
Below are some pictures of what we are commonly seeing at school. These are sold at grocery stores, online,
and at many skate shops. Having a wholesome environment is important to us at LHHS. Please take the time to
talk to your child about making sure they are making good choices.
