Our most precious commodity will not be found behind the world's most secure bank vault or

exchanging in the hands of the wealthy – A gem so rare that even the all wise King Solomon could not

savour it: TIME. Time belongs to no man… So then why do we squander it?

The Bible states that we should not throw our pearls to the swine's. Personally this also refers to how we

manage our most valuable asset TIME. Do we wish it away – in the same manner we would blow out a candle or do we tightly hold onto every

second as if it were to be our last!

The majority of us accommodate a thief in our homes – controlled by our own hand. 'The Television.' Can you imagine not

watching TV for a day, what would you do, how would it make you feel? Ask yourself this question how much time in a day do you

ALLOW to be stolen?

Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against one owning a Television. I do enjoy my occasional 'soapie' and even a movie –

when it's not filled with sex, violence language or prejudice … I guess that cancels everything out! … We tend to fill our minds and

souls with so much garbage that we become the very characters we despise.

I do not believe that watching TV is the only time thief in our lives but it

creates a wonderful example of how not only does it rob us of precious time

with our families but consequently if we do not monitor what we allow into our

conscious minds it will seep into our subconscious lying dormant until a

situation in our life arises, we reach in to seek a solution and a very real

secular answer surfaces instead of our ROCK – Bible based scripture. We

are no longer subject to; an eye for an eye. (Old Testament context) God has

told us to LOVE our neighbour as we love ourselves – How often do we see

this attitude adopted on our local television stations?

We are allowing TV characters who have no morals to mould our children. Unaware, we are all affected in some or other way.

Have you ever asked yourself why so many teenagers suffer poor body images and a low self esteem among many other

negative qualities? We all want to be thinner be more beautiful than the next, have smarter clothes, drive the fanciest car and

even have the latest hair style – is that person behind all that really YOU- do you know who the REAL YOU is?

We all have the choice as to what we will allow to enter our hearts and minds – does it take something away from you or will it add

value to your life?

The Bible says: – Do not conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…… I DARE us all,

including myself to spend our TIME each day from now on renewing our minds with that which honours God.

Finally I would like to share with you one of my most favourite Bible verses – Found in Philippians 4:8 Whatever is true,

whatever is noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.

John 3:16 proclaims a message of love, a source of hope and a promise of life.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that WHOEVER believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. [NIV]

The purpose of this teaching is to discover that no one is excluded from God's offer of salvation and to commit to extending the offer to whoever we encounter.

REWINDRevelation 22:17: Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever

wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

Religious elitism has plagued our world for centuries. Some people once believed they had an inside track on God. Today, that belief is alive and well. Some religions claim to have figured it out. Some denominations spend more time dissecting the beliefs of other denominations than understanding their own beliefs. But the Bible teaches something much different.

WHOEVER in the Bible is an all-inclusive term. In other words, no one is left out. The worst sinner, the wicked criminal, the most dishonest executive, and the most hard-hearted parent all are included in the whoever statement.

You also are included in the whoever statements. When you read the Bible, you can substitute your name for any instance of whoever.

The story goes that a church was debating the amenities that were to be included in its new multi-purpose facility. After a long discussion, the decision was made to eliminate some recreational equipment because the church leaders didn't want the facility to become a hangout for the less-desirable people in the community. The church obviously didn't take the whoever statements in the Bible into consideration.

RETHINKPsalm 8:4 What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?

Some people believe that they are undesirable to God. Why? They obviously recognize God's holiness and their

personal wickedness. They see the wide deep crack in the ground [gulf] that separates them from God and see no

way to cross from one side to the other.

Do you think that God desires a relationship with you? Why or why not?

It is easy to recognize our need for God, but difficult to comprehend God's desire for a relationship with us. We can't

add anything to God. As a matter of fact, we're probably more trouble than we're worth. So why does God desire to

have a relationship with us and why would he allow his Son to be sacrificed so that the relationship could be made

possible?

It's because of his love for his creation!

GOD'S “ WHOEVER ” PRINCIPLE By Aubrey Cloete

REFLECTScripture Reading Luke 16:19-31 - The Rich Man and Lazarus

Jesus told the parable of Lazarus and the rich man to prove a point. He wanted to redefine the terms of admission to

heaven. People thought that heaven could be earned. In the story, Jesus tells the parable of two men who died. One

was rich, the other poor. After his death, the rich man was tormented in Hades. The poor man was in heaven at

Abraham's side. Where the rich man had spent his life accumalating wealth, the poor man had spiritual treasures.

Which man are you most like?

? The rich man trusting wealth and power.

? The poor man trusting God's grace.

Once in Hades, the rich man begged for someone to go back and warn his family members to do whatever was

necessary to prevent spending eternity in hell. The problem was that the “ whoever “ principle has a statute of

limitations – it must be invoked while the person is alive.Your circle of influence is made up of people who are in need of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In the list

below, think about people in each category who need to be made aware of the whoever principle.

Family, Friends, Co-workers, Neighbours, AcquaintancesWhy have you not yet discussed spiritual matters with these people?

The rich man got some bad news from Abraham – after death, the gulf between the saved and the unsaved cannot

be crossed. That was all the motivation the rich man needed. He begged that someone from death return to life to

persuade his family members to repent and accept God's grace. What obstacles did you overcome in order to accept God's offer of salvation? What makes it difficult for people to accept the simplicity of Jesus' atonement?

Abraham told the rich man that people who do not believe in Moses and the Prophets wouldn't believe it if someone

rose from the dead. For Jesus to tell this story was prophetic in and of itself. Jesus would indeed rise from the dead

and people would continue to talk in a way that they think are ridiculous[scoff]. Today, there still are scoffers who

don't believe what Scripture says and can't buy into the idea that Jesus really did rise from the dead.

REACT God's whoever principle includes you and me and everyone else on the planet. As Christ-followers, it is our responsibility to point

people to God's love and not to stand in the way of them seeing his love.

Is it easier for you to point people to God's love or to control your actions and attitudes so that you don't become a

stumbling block to others? Explain your response.Sin is anything that separates a person from God. What is Jesus's attitude toward those who cause others to be

separated from God?

? It's deserving of death. What are some things you do that misrepresent God to the world?

The very reason many people fail to accept God's offer of salvation is because of their encounters with people who claim to be

believers. Maybe you've heard people say, “ I'd probably be a Christian today if I didn't know so many people who claim to be

Christians.”You might not think about your effect on a doubting world. How do you respond when you experience customer service that is far

below your expectations? What do you say when the restaurant employee can't seem to get your order right? How do you deal

with people who disappoint you? When you are driving, are you courteous and considerate or reckless and rude? ( You might

want to consider your driving habits before placing the fish on the rear of your vehicle ) When people encounter you, are they

encouraged or disgusted? Are you a good advertisement for God's “ Whoever “ principle.

Matthew 18:6-7

Louis Hendrik Lubbe

Gebore 20 Februarie 1980 te Johannesburg, is tans takbestuurder by ‘n finansiële instansie.

Ek het later, Junie 1994, begin dromme speel in my oom se kerk.

As julle wil oorkom vir ‘n koffie, vertel ek julle verder.

Eers is my oupa oorlede, kort daarna my oom(wat soos ‘n pa vir my was), en kort daarna het my eerste man my en my seuntjie verlaat.

Hallelujah!

My Definition of Worship

I believe in the Bible and according to 2 Timothy 3:16, “

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is

profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for

instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may

be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good

work. “ The word of God is the ground for all

knowledge of God and how He is to be worshipped. If

we do not know God, how can we possibly begin to

worship him?

We can only worship God, if we have a relationship

with Him, through His Son, which is empowered by the

Holy Spirit. John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way the

truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except

through me.” We respond to God on grounds of who

He is (our adoration), what He has done (our

thanksgiving), what He is doing (our praise) and what

He will do (intercession, confession and petition).

We offer to Him offerings/sacrifices of thanksgiving

and praise and worship through a lifestyle of worship

(Rom 12:1). There is actually nothing that we can give

Him, because every good gift comes from the Father.

We give to Him what already belongs to Him. James

1:17 “Every good and every perfect gift comes from

above and comes down from the Father of lights with

whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”

John of Salisbury (1120-1180) “See that what you sing

with your mouth you believe with your heart and that

what you believe in your heart you obey in your works”I know of many times I was guilty of singing songs but I

did not believe and practice it. These words of John

opened my eyes and heart to not take worship very

lightly.

“For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.' For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.”

- Paul, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

This is the second of the visible acts of our submission to the Lordship of Jesus (baptism is the other). This is the focus and centre of the church's worship. We remember the body of Jesus given for us on the cross and are reminded of His incredible love for each of us. We also remember His blood shed for our sins and are overwhelmed with gratitude and adoration. This communion together is also our witness to the world that Jesus died, that He was raised, and that He is coming back for us. The church will continue this celebration event till the Lord returns.

“Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.”- Paul, 1 Corinthians 10:16-17

Participating in the Lord's Supper is an act of unity. It is an act of sharing with Jesus in His death, and serves as a reminder of the commitment we made when we were crucified with Christ in baptism. It is also our statement of unity as the body of Christ. We may look different, our styles of worship may be somewhat different, we may live in different parts of the world…but we find our unity in our sharing the Supper together.

“On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people…”- Luke, Acts 20:7

Christians meet together on the first day of the week for the purpose of sharing together the Lord's Supper (breaking bread). God's people also spend time hearing the Word of God.

“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”- Paul, Ephesians 5:19-20

Digging Deeperby Aubrey Cloete___________________

What Do We Do as a Family?

Christians sing when they are together. Our praise in song is our offering of thanks for everything God has done for us. We also sing as a way to encourage each other and to build each other up. What we express vocally to God and each other is an outpouring of hearts full of love, gratitude, and praise. Singing is a celebration of life together in Christ.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.”

- Paul, Colossians 3:16

The family of God teaches and admonishes each other with the wisdom that comes from the word of Christ. We do this by preaching, teaching, and singing.

“After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”

- Luke, Acts 4:31

When the family of God prays, we access the power of God. Prayer empowers us and emboldens us to speak the Word of God.

“…when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid again and again when I was in need.”

- Paul, Philippians 4:16

Christians support others in the preaching of God's Word.

“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.”

- Paul, 2 Corinthians 9:11-12

God's people take care of each other. God provides us resources so that we might take care of those in our family with needs.

“On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income…”

- Paul, 1 Corinthians 16:2

We take advantage of our being together on the first day of the week to take up a collection to support the preaching of the Gospel and to help God's people.

Ek en Ronel het moed aan die dag gelê en begin sing, GOD WILL MAKE A SPACE, WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE NO SPACE… dit was exiting!

50 brode is flink gesmeer – vinnig was alles klaar!

Ons was in afwagting, God gaan iets groots doen!!

Ons was gepantser met oormowwe, handskoene, dikke baadjies, wolkepsies, “name it”.

Toe die koue so in my binneste kom inkruip, het 'n diepe dankbaarheid in my opgewel.

Hy is letterlik HANDE EN VOETE VIR JESUS. Daar was baie gebid.

Prys die Here!

"Music can act upon our senses to produce or induce feelings of reverence, humility, fervor, assurance, or other feelings attuned to the spirit of worship." Spencer W. Kimball

“Hoe kan jy tog so gou vergeet?

Ons mense deel eintlik so baie, maar kom dit so moeilik agter. Ons is eintlik almal verbind deur God, so hoekom moet daar soveel onmin heers?

Gaan back to the BASIC as jy weer ongelukkig is of met iemand stry.
