SAMHITHA- 2018- UNITE-CELEBRATE-ENJOY!

“Samhitha”- college day was organized on 14th

May 2018 at Koshys Institute of Management

Studies. The day to celebrate, give platform for

students to exhibit their talent and be in lime

light along with the felicitation to the toppers of

the university level examinations by the chief

guest and the dignitaries.

The long awaited day dawned. The college

auditorium was beautifully decorated with

lights and flowers. Chairs and tables were

placed on the dias for the revered guest on the

occasion Prof. MS Reddy, Registrar, Bangalore

North University. Presided by the special invitees- Mr. Lophy Vellera, COO KGI, Mr. Pankoj Roy

Director- Admissions KGI, Prof. Sareena Shaji

Principal Koshys College of Nursing along with

Dr. A Ravi – Director Academics Koshys Institute

of Management Studies.

Formal inauguration began with the lamp lighting

by the dignitaries. Prof. Priyanka HOD. MBA

department delivered the welcome address to the

gathering. Followed by the chief guest address.

Prof. MS Reddy, Registrar, Bangalore North

University addressed the gathering with his

inspiring words. He briefed about the

education system and practices followed by the

Bangalore university to enhance the quality of

learning with innovative courses on aviation,

logistics, digital marketing, CA, CS and also

briefed about the future plans to improve and

digitalize the valuation system with ease and

speed. sir also emphasized on importance of

Kannada, Digital India, Make In India, Swatch

Bharath, Women Empowerment And campus

Placements.

North University congratulated the KGI

team for the increased rate of admissions,

placements and facilities provided for the

students. And expressed his thankful note

on hospitality by the KGI team.

The chief guest along with the dignitaries

awarded the toppers of MBA, BBA,

B.COM, BCA, Nursing, GNM, BSc

students at the university level

examination.

Mr. Viju Samuel- the placement head was

awarded for his outstanding performance and achievement in getting the students placed in the

reputed companies with good package by the chief guests. Along with the distribution of offer

letters to the students who were successfully placed.

Towards the end of the formal inauguration

Prof. MS Reddy the chief guest was felicitated

by the COO and the dignitaries with a shawl,

memento and bouquet of flowers and fruits.

Prof. Melba delivered the vote of thanks to the

gathering. Followed by the welcome dance by

Shyamini and team. The audience were

entertained with The cultural events like choir

by SNA team, along with other performances

like markam kali, flower dance, theme dance,

solo song and dance, fusion dance, bamboo

dance, theme based dance, duet song and

dance .

Special awards were given the achievers and

winners of Volket (volley ball and basket ball

tournament), lights camera action- the short movie

competition and food fiesta- the best management

food stall competition by the Chief operating

officer Mr. Lophy Vellera.

Followed by fashion parade and dance floor

and the show was of a grand success. Every

one enjoyed and carried the memories for

life term.

FRESHERS DAY REPORT- 2017

Fresher’s day “The Nov-Fiesta” 2017 was organized on 19th of August Saturday in the Auditorium.

The fresher’s day preparations began a week

before where the committees and the theme

and the program schedule was drafted by

cultural co-ordinator along with the

guidance of the Vice Principal Prof.

Raghavendra. The dress code and the theme

for fresher’s day was red white and black.

The dress code for girls was red and for boys it was

white and black. The treasure hunt was organized on

18th august a day before fresher’s day which was also a

part of fresher’s day program. There were 5 teams for

treasure hunt. The treasure hunt co-coordinators

arranged for 15 treasure clues and treasured them with

students in the entire KGI campus. The game began at 2:00 pm and ended by 5.30 pm,the blue

team BBA B’section won the game.

Decoration for the fresher’s day began on 18th august

where the decoration committee decorated the

auditorium on horror theme with light and sound effects

near the stairs from the UG dept towards the

auditorium.

The day began with the registration for the

competitions like solo song, solo dance, group song

, group dance and fashion show.

The program started at 12:00PM where the fresher’s headed from the KGI campus towards the

auditorium in their respective troops under the guidance of senior coordinators.

Fresher’s were welcomed with a red rose and the coordinators inked the fresher’s with the

Novfiesta seal on their left hand. The chief guest were escorted toward the stage by the

coordinators.

Followed by welcome speech by Prof Roopa the cultural co-ordinator. And the Novfiesta 2017

was inaugurated by the dignitaries Dr. A Ravi Director Academics, Mr.Lophy Vellara The COO

,Prof Sereena Shaji the Principal of Nursing and Prof Raghavendra the Vice Principal of UG Dept

by cutting the cake. The program continued with a welcome song by the seniors and welcome

dance by Sharon and team.

Report On Rangde- The Feb Carnival 2017

Koshys group of institutions had organized RANGDE- The Feb carnival for all the

departments Nursing,UG and MBA With the three main events like

Akruthi- The Ethnic day

Aasthra – The Photo and video montage

Azionare- The Management fest.

Under the co-ordinations of Prof Roopa the cultural co-ordinator.

AKRUTHI:

Akruthi the ethnic day was organized on 11th February 2017

under the coordinator prof. Namitha from PG, Prof. Roopa from

UG, Prof Rema from nursing.

The program was inaugurated

by Mr. Lophy Vellara, Prof

Sereena Shaji and Prof

Purandaran by 10:05 am in

the amphi theatre. Followed by

the cultural events like duet

dance, duet song, group

dance, group song, solo

dance and solo song competitions. Followed by ramp walk by

KGI Staff

Other events like tug of war, madka breaking, kite fighting and

rangoli was also organized as a part of ethnic day celebration..

Fashion show was organized for the students where 3 teams participated from nursing and UG

department. The valentine team from Nursing won the first place and the colours of India from the

UG department were the runner ups. The program ended with the prize distribution to the winners

and Mr. Ethnic and Ms. Ethnic of 2017 was awarded.

AASTHRA:

Aasthra the photo and video montage was organized on 16th February 2017 in seminar hall with

the coordinator’s Prof. Raghavendra from PG, Prof. Suganthi from UG, Prof Pradeep from

nursing. With the theme – life at KGI The program was inaugurated by prof Rajesh Palayil

followed by the best photo competition with 16 participants where all the participants presented

their ideas on life at KGI followed by awarding the best photo for Harsha from BCA.

Followed by the movie presentation by 6 participants on the theme life at KGI.And the theme

“Veera the revenge “ by Tinoy and team from BBA was awarded the best video.

AZIONARE:

Azionare the Management Fest was organized on 10TH, 15TH,17TH,22 ND AND 28TH February with

the coordinators Prof.Madhusudhan from PG, Prof .Gopi from UG, Prof Avani from nursing.

Management competitions like debate, collage, business quiz, group discussion, best manager,

treasure hunt and team building activities was organized to develop the management skills.

ETHNIC DAY REPORT –2017

“MAHOTSAVMELAM” ,the ethnic day at Koshys Institute

of Management Studies was organized on 12th of September

2017 Tuesday in the college premises. The day started with the

pookalam competition by 7:30 AM followed by the singari

melam procession by the UG Team -1 from 9:00 AM. After

the first procession the second procession by the UG team-2 “tamate vadyam” started from the

entrance of the gate followed by the “Nasik dol” procession by the PG team where the mahabali

procession was carried with the chariot from the entrance

till the amphitheatre.

Ms. Roopa the cultural coordinator welcomed the

gathering. The ethnic day was inaugurated by the

dignitaries Dr. Santhosh Koshy, the Chairman of KGI along with Mr. Lophy Vellera Chief

Operating Officer KGI , Mr. Pankaj Roy Admission Head, Dr. A Ravi Director Academics, Ms.

Sareena Shaji Principal of Koshys College of Nursing and Prof. Raghavendra the Vice Principal

of Koshys Institute of Management Studies. Followed by the lamp lighting ceremony by the

dignitaries.

Dr Santosh Koshy addressed the gathering with his

thoughtful words about cultural diversity and unity among

the students to organize the ethnic day successfully. Followed by the “thiruvathira” performance

by the young and beautiful girls of KIMS.

The Nasik Dol banged the floor with their band along with

the PG students dance performance in tune with their dol for

half an hour. Followed by the stage performance by the

Singari Melam and Tamate Vadyam by the UG Team for one

hour along with the UG students dance performance off the stage.

The entire gathering dispersed for lunch by 1:00 PM for an

hour and assembled by 2:30PM for the games Uriyadi and

tug of war followed by the band performance and dance till

4:30 PM. And the gathering dispersed.

“VOLKET-ONE TEAM ONE DREAM”

“VOLKET”- Volleyball and Basketball League was organized at Koshys Institute of

Management Studies from 16-03-2018 to 23-03-2018.

The formal inauguration began with the lamp lighting by the dignitaries- Mr. Lophy Vellera, COO

KGI, Mr. Pankoj Roy Director Admissions KGI, Prof. Sereena Shaji Principal of Koshys College

of Nursing along with Dr. A Ravi – Director Academics Koshys Institute of Management Studies.

Mr.Raghavendra The Vice Principal Koshys Institute of Management Studies, in his speech

emphasized the importance of sports for a healthy life. Inaugural function ended with vote of

thanks by the student Mr.Sayooj.

Volleyball and Basket ball matches were organized in five rounds with the teams named Phoenix

Club, D’feeters Club, Blank Pantherz, Orlando Club,Al-Emarat Club and Hooligans Club.

All the participants are congratulated and the winners were awarded by Mr.Pankoj Roy, Director-

Admission, KGI.

“SPECTRA- 2018”- Founders day celebrations

“Spectra” The founders day was organized on 15th of march on the occasion of 75th birthday

of Mr. C Koshy , The Founder Of Koshys Group Of Institutions. The program was scheduled

at 6pm in the amphitheatre. The guest of honor was rev. Father Tom Uzhunnalil. The

program began with an invocation song from the SNA team lead by the choir master Mr.

Sudhakar John. Followed by the welcome speech by our academic director Dr. A Ravi. Lamp

lighting was done by the dignitaries

shared his experience on education and humanity. Later Dr. Santhosh Koshy – The

Chairman KGI, addressed the gathering.
