Year 4-6 ScitechYear 4-6 Scitech

On Monday 9th September TA11-TA20had their visit to Scitech and I wasfortunate enough to attend as well. Evenas an adult I learned a lot from my visit, forexample, scientists have used maths and

science to determine that there is a ninth planet in our solarsystem (not Pluto!) but nobody has been able to locate it yet. There was a lot of hands on learning with making a flyingobject and using Lil Bits to make a robot that writes. I thinkbased on the smiles I saw at Scitech and the tired faces I sawgetting off the bus in the afternoon, the day was a hugesuccess!

Year 2 Food Bank IncursionYear 2 Food Bank Incursion

On Thursday 29th August, TA5 and TA6 enjoyed a freeincursion from Food Bank. The aim of the incursion was toeducate the students involved on the benefits of healthy eatingas well as enjoy a shared meal experience. The studentsthoroughly enjoyed themselves and the tasty meals theycreated. Parents, I hope they demonstrated their new skills toyou at home!

TA5 and TA6 AssemblyTA5 and TA6 Assembly

What an absolutely fantastic assembly from TA5 and TA6 toend our Book Week. The theme this year was ‘Reading is mySuper Power’, and we were entertained with a skit about whatsuperpowers different books can give us and a lovely song atthe end. Several teachers made comments about how clearlyand confidently the students spoke. Well done!

Kinross College's Grease PerformanceKinross College's Grease Performance

Last Monday, Mrs Kaminski and I took a group of Year 5 and6 students to watch the performance of Grease - The Musical, presented by Kinross College. The College very kindly offeredus some tickets and also a free bus ride to and from theauditorium at St Marks Anglican Community School where themusical was performed.

The students chosen were invited due to their dedication andhard work this year to the choir or to their recent danceperformance at the Crown. What an incredible performanceit was! We were thoroughly entertained from start to finishby the fantastic actors and actresses, singers, dancers andlive band. A big well done also to the backstage crew whomade the whole performance run smoothly and as slick asthe grease in Danny Zuko's hair! It was lovely to see a fewfamiliar faces of our ex-Kinross Primary students. We even gotto meet the cast at the end of the show! A huge thank youto the staff at Kinross College for giving some of our studentsthe incredible opportunity to see a live performance of musictheatre. Particular thanks go out to Dale Beaton, Ashlyn LaCava, Jaxon Barclay, Steve Adcock, the production team andalso to John Avenell for driving us all there and back.

Every time a new child registers for school banking the schoolgets money. We also earn money from our regular bankerseach term.! Our income from school banking this year(including term 4 of last year) is just over $1000. This has beensplit equally between the junior and senior years and will beused to update math supplies for the classrooms.

Our banking numbers are a little lower than usual. Rememberyou can bank as little as 10c and every time your child banksthey receive a silver token. The purpose of banking is to showour children that saving is positive regardless of the amount.

Thank you!
