Save the Date ~ 6:00 pm Saturday, November 21st Keokuk County Expo Hall

*Meat, Drinks, Desserts and Table Service will be provided. *Families—please bring a covered dish to share!

Keokuk County Extension and Outreach is proud to announce the 2015 Keokuk County 4-H Hall of

Fame Inductees, David and Kay Witte. David and Kay have been patient teachers and friends who have

opened their farm and their hearts to the 4-H’ers of Keokuk County for more than twenty years. Although

neither Kay nor Dave grew up in 4-H themselves, they have nonetheless exemplified what 4-H stands

for throughout their lives. They have both served the area by being a part of the Keokuk County Exten-

sion Agricultural Council for a combined period of 18 years, and have been donating both their time and

their agricultural resources to the Keokuk County 4-H Program for even longer. Though the Keokuk

County Klovers and the Stick-to-It Clubs have both been direct recipients of their generosity and

knowledge through their work in the Witte’s pumpkin patch, the county has greatly benefited from their

kindness.

David and Kay continue to support Keokuk County in a variety of ways. David can be seen every winter

with his tractor, blading the driveway free of snow (which the Extension staff greatly appreciates!). We

at the Keokuk County Extension Office are excited to induct them into our 2015 Keokuk County 4-H Hall

of Fame, in which they will receive an engraved brick to be displayed in the brick patio of 4-H Supporters

outside the Extension office, as well as their photo hung on the Wall of Fame inside.

Congratulations David and Kay!

We are selling Butter Braids again for the enrollment fundraiser for the 2015-2016 year! Last spring’s fundraiser raised over $5,000— surpassing the costs for enrollment and paying for each and every 4-H’er in Keokuk

County! Let’s make this fundraiser even bigger and better—our goal is to raise $6,000 to cover the cost of enrollments for our fast-growing program!

That means we’re asking every 4-H’er to sell 10 items. Hit up your families over Thanksgiving break! These are AWESOME for Christmas morning, and other family gatherings around the holidays!

Spring 2015 Top Sellers were Ellie Berg with 46 items, Carter McCoid with 38 items, and Audrey Grove with 33 items. We are still amazed with their efforts for our program, and have decided to offer $10 Casey’s gift cards to the top three sellers in the program.

Sales will begin November 9th (forms will be mailed to you), and are due back to the Extension Office by December 1st.
