Kenya: A Snapshot

•Kenya, officially the Republic of Kenya, is a country in Africa and a founding member of the East African Community (EAC). Kenya's territory lies on the equator and overlies the East African Rift covering a diverse and expansive terrain that extends roughly from Lake Victoria to Lake Turkana (formerly called Lake Rudolf) and further south-east to the Indian Ocean. It is bordered by Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, South Sudan to the north-west, Ethiopia to the north and Somalia to the north-east. •Its capital and largest city is Nairobi.

Kenya has proven oil deposits in Turkana County. In mid – 2012 oil was discovered in Kenya. The reserves became commercially viable after it was confirmed that there were around 300 million barrels worth of reserves. As of January 2014, Tullow said Kenya's Northern Basin could have an excess of 1 billion barrels of oil. Kenya's deposits may top 10 billion barrels. Kenya has one of the largest crude oil refineries in East Africa, the 90,000-barrels-per-day (bbl/d) Mombasa refinery.

Kenya: In Numbers Kenya is the economic and transport hub of East Africa. Kenya’s real GDP growth has averaged over 5% for the last seven years. Agriculture remains the backbone of the Kenyan economy, contributing 25% of GDP. About 80% of Kenya’s population of roughly 42 million work at least part-time in the agricultural sector, including livestock and pastoral activities.

GDP per capita in Kenya averaged 826.41 USD from 1960 until 2015, reaching an all time high of 1133.46 USD in 2015 and a record low of 481.38 USD in 1961. GDP per capita in Kenya is reported by the World Bank.

News: Mobile phone operators in Kenya received twice the revenue their counterparts in Rwanda and Uganda did in the three months to June 16. The government has ratified new rules allowing foreign direct investment (FDI) in the establishment of special economic zones (SEZ), where products will be manufactured for the export market.

The Method

•The essence of the video thermal generalization method consists in consecutive averaging the digitized infrared images that allows to trace step by step thermal heterogeneities and border between them from a surface to depth. It is a question of radiation temperature:

•where Тр – radiation temperature, – radiation ability of a surface, Тт –thermodynamic temperature. •Radiating ability for each specific substance is a function of length of a wave and temperatures, it is equal to unit of absolutely black body and can be infinitesimal for a absolutely white body. At equal to 1 molecular and radiating temperatures are equal. Values for rocks are estimated by sizes nearby 0,95 - 0,65. Therefore the card of radiating temperatures will always differ from a card of molecular temperatures due to non-uniform radiating ability of substances, even in case the molecular temperature of a superficial layer is homogeneous.
