Cultural Corner The Ainsworth-Gallery, 721 Taylor Street in Joliet, will present an exhib-it of paintings by Robert Orr from 26 January to 8 March 2013. There will be an opening reception for the artist Saturday 26 January from 6:00 to 8:00pm. at the gallery.

This collection of paintings, while eclectic in style, possess a bond of dynamic color and exuberance of stroke and design. Mr. Orr has dem-onstrated a masterful ability to inter-pret the world he sees as an artist and portray that vision in a graphic and colorful manner for everyone to see and enjoy. His inspiration comes from what he sees and wants to share with humanity. That includes real-istic local scenes and scenes found only in the vivid imagination of the artist Robert Orr.

Robert is a native of Westmont IL. He has traveled the world doing artistic research and now lives and paints in Joliet. He favors acrylic paints and uses canvas stretched in the traditional manner. He frames his work as a ‘courtesy’ knowing that most collectors will reframe new acquisitions to match what they al-ready own.

The Ainsworth-Gallery is Joliet’s oldest commercial art gallery show-ing original work by living artists. All exhibited work is for sale. The gal-lery is open Monday through Friday from 10:30am to 5:00pm and other times by appointment. There is nev-er a charge to view any exhibit. For more information call 815.726.1840.
