General Elections are held in even-numbered years.

OFFICES TO BE ELECT-ED (where applicable) • President and Vice Presi-dent of the United States • Representatives in Con-gress – All 18 Districts • State Senators – All 59 districts • Representatives in the Gen-eral Assembly – All 118 Districts • Sanitary District Com-missioners / Trustees • Circuit Clerks • Recorders • State’s Attorneys • Auditors • Coroners • Regional Superinten-dents of Schools (vacancies) • County Board Members • Judges, vacancies will be fi lled • Judicial Retention Properly fi led and certifi ed Ref-erenda will also be placed on the appropriate ballots.

INFORMATION of INTEREST The Offi ce of the Kendall County Clerk is providing in-formation pertaining to the upcoming General Election for the convenience of Kendall County voters.

Aug 20 Last day for local governing boards to adopt a resolution to allow a binding public ques-tion to appear on the ballot Aug 20 Last day to place advisory referenda on the ballot by resolution

Aug 30 Last day for the cir-cuit court clerk and the lo-cal election offi cial to certify binding or advisory referenda

Sep 06 Last day to fi le a no-tarized Declaration of Intent to be a Write-In Candidate with the County Clerk

Press Release Oct 09 Last day for voter regis-tration or transfer of registration

Oct 10 First day for Grace Period registration & voting in the Offi ces of the Kendall County Clerk, 1st fl oor, Rm 103

Oct 17 Last day for an employee to provide writ-ten notice to their employer that they will be absent on Election Day to serve as a Judge of Election (10 ILCS 5/13-2.5, 14-4.5)

Oct 22 First day for Early Vot-ing & In-Person Absentee Voting (See “Voting in Kendall County” on this site)

Oct 23 Pollwatcher** & Can-didate credentials must be available (**Organizations seeking such cre-dentials must properly qualify for same and have registered the names and addresses of its principal offi cers with the Election Au-thority at least 40 days prior to the election. All pollwatchers must be registered to vote in Illinois)

Nov 01 Last day of Early Voting at Oswego Village Hall Last day to receive an Absentee application by mail

Nov 03 Last day Early Vot-ing and Grace period regis-tration & voting at Offi ce of Election Offi cial – Ken-dall County Offi ce Bldg, Fox Street

Nov 06 Election Day Polling sites open from 6:00am to 7:00pm

Nov 08 Voter registration re-opens

Nov 20 Complete validation & counting of absentee & Provisional/Grace ballots

Nov 27 Canvass of elec-tion results to be completed
