A big thanks to all the wonderful people that helped make Fr. Peter Samborski’s farewell party a beautiful event. Thanks to the great work and effort of our parish organiza-tions, we were able to enjoy great food, delicious desserts, and the coming together of many to thank Fr. Samborski for all his work in our parish. We wish him the best as he be-gins his new assignment at St. Mary of the Woods. Our most sincere thanks to all, and specially to our Catho-lic Women’s Club, Holy Name Men’s Club, members of St. Queen Jadwega, John Mazur, Dan O’Donnell, Jack Skaja, the Lone Tree Manor staff, and everyone that contributed to this memorable evening.

Not Too Late to Give to the Annual Appeal! The Monthly pledge billings for the Annual Catholic Ap-peal have been mailed. It is very important these pledges be fulfilled so our parish will reach and, hopefully, exceed our goal. Thanks to all those that have already given to the Annual Appeal, and for those that made a pledge, please make sure you fulfill your pledge.

Totus Tuus 2019 at SJB This year 49 children from St. John Brebeuf Parish attended Totus Tuus, an annual catecheti-cal summer camp offered by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Campers attended daily Mass, learned about Jesus, and had a wonderful time playing games and making new friends.

The Totus Tuus program ended with a fun and very wet water fight!

If you have not given, it is not too late, and you can make your contribution at any time. EVERY GIFT MATTERS For more information and to donate online, please visit:

Peter’s Pence Collection - Be a Witness of Charity. “A Little Mercy Makes the World Less Cold and More Just.” Pope Francis, Angelus, March 17, 2013. Today, we take up the Peter’s Pence Collec-tion, which supports the charitable works of Pope Francis. Catholics around the globe sup-port this collection to help the Holy Father reach out to people suffering in our world, especially those enduring the effects of war and violence, natural disasters, and religious persecution. Please be generous today.

The Justice Prayer

Come, O Holy Spirit!

Come, open us to the wonder, beauty, and dignity

of the diversity found in each culture, in each face, and

in each experience we have of the others among us.

Come, fill us with generosity

as we ate challenged to let go and allow others

to share with us the goods and beauty of earth.

Come, heal the divisions

that keep us from seeing the face of Christ in all men,

women, and children.

Come, free us to stand with and for those

who must leave their own lands in order to find work

security, and welcome in a new land,

one that has enough to share.

Come, bring us understanding, inspiration,

wisdom, and the courage needed to embrace

change and stay on the journey.

Come, O Holy Spirit, show us the way.

to Jerusalem, sent a “messenger on ahead of Him.” To be the messengers of God, we must know well what it is God wants to say and do through us, as he sends us out to bring his love to others.

A Few Words About Wills More than a mere legal document that will be accepted in a court of human law, a well-prepared will is a statement of faith, hope and love. Family, charities, and others in need will benefit from this, your final act of material kindness. St. John Brebeuf Parish would consider it a privilege to be mentioned in your will. Thank you, for not only your considera-tion but for all your other gift sacrifices.
