Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into

light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them (Is. 42:16, NIV).

In 1 Kings we read how the Prophet Elijah challenged the god Baal. When God sent him to Sidon, ruled by the father of thewicked Queen Jezebel, Elijah obeyed and went, despite the danger he faced for his faith and his opposition to the nationalreligion. There God met his needs and worked miracles through him. May the Lord send more bold, obedient Elijahs tothose who serve another god and use them to show His power and love. *

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students and AlumniGUINEA-CONAKRY: An alumnus writes: “Pray that the Lord will intervene to eradicate the Ebola virus in Guinea. This morning (the 29th) it was announced that we have four cases in the capital, Conakry. We are already praying, along with all the Assemblies of God church in Guinea. We ask you to likewise support us as we face this terriblescourge. Pray that, in the face of this sickness, many Muslims will turn to the Lord, whom the Koran presents as a'miracle worker.'”

NIGERIA: A student asks us to pray for a friend who serves as a missionary and must leave his area of service due tothe activity of Boko Haram. Others have likewise returned home. Please pray that the Lord will give those who remainnew strategies and courage so they may stay and witness effectively.

NORTHERN GHANA: A student requests that we intercede for three tribes: the Safaliba, the Vagala, and theGonjah. The Gonjah are strongly Muslim and, because they are considered superior, people from the two other tribesare adopting Islam. This has made it more difficult for the gospel to penetrate. Please pray for the pastors and churchesin these areas. Pray that people from all these tribes will have a revelation of the superiority of Jesus!

WEST AFRICA: Pray for orphans and widows in Muslim families. Often they are rejected and abandoned. Pray thatthey will see Jesus and His love for them. May Christians around them see and seize opportunities to show His love.

World Watch List: Pray for the Persecuted**Eritrea, a small country on the Horn of Africa, is 12 th on the list of countries in which Christians suffer the mostpersecution. A law enacted in 2002 bans unrecognized groups from meeting, and does not recognize evangelicalchurches. Evangelical Christians number perhaps 125,000, and house church movements are growing, despite thedanger of arrest, imprisonment, and torture. An estimated 3,000 Christians are in prison for their faith. Some who tryto flee oppression find themselves caught in trafficking rings. Let's intercede for our brothers and sisters here, that theHoly Spirit will protect them and help them to stand firm and to walk in His wisdom and strength.

For Muslim Women***Please pray for a Nigerian Muslim immigrant [to the U.S.] who needs Jesus. She clings tightly to Islam because itoffers her security in a place so far from home. Currently E. works for pay at a Christian fellowship; please pray thatat her job she sees Jesus living in others, and that she chooses to invite Him to live in her heart as well.
