Hostage DisasterIn 1979, a group of Americans was taken
hostage in Teheran. In 1980, American commandos went in to save them. Disaster ensued. Helicopters malfunctioned, eight soldiers died, and none of the hostages were freed at the time. If you were the
President of the United States, would you authorize the rescue of hostages even if you knew there was great risk involved?
Explain your answer.

Textbook page• Working with a partner, you will create a page in a
history textbook 30 years from now. • Your page should have one MAJOR recent news story
(Election of Obama, Japan, Libya, Osama Bin Laden, etc.). You will summarize this event using the 5W’s. Remember, you are stating the facts to put it in a textbook!
• Also, create a brief summary and picture of something from current pop culture (iPods, facebook, the “Dougie”).
• Finally, read over your page. Could it be seen as biased? If time, we will trade with other groups in the class.
• Have fun with this!!OBJECTIVE: BTEOC, I will analyze
