The Ribble Way long distance footpath provided the starting point for the geotrail venture

Partnership working• The trails have been researched and designed by a small team, supported at the

‘road testing’ stage by members of GeoLancashire geological society.• Hanson UK’s Ribblesdale works supported GeoLancashire in the publication of

the Clitheroe guide and added interpretive boards at a newly created quarry viewpoint near the south bank of the Ribble• Collaboration with RRT has opened new avenues, which we are keen to pursue,

developing further trails in the Ribble catchment or even further afield
