Confirmation for P7 Holy Cross Primary Pupils Confirmation Enrolment takes place next Saturday 26th / Sunday 27th October. Archbishop Tartaglia wishes 3 Preparation Events to take place at parish level. Therefore at the end of the Enrolment Mass would Parents, Sponsors (if known) & P7 Children wait behind in the Church Building for 30 minutes.

Mission Sunday is THIS weekend, 19th/ 20th Oct. There will be a Second Collection. To Gift Aid you need to remove the Gift Aid Form from the Missio Pack & fill it out. Then you either hand in the Form with the Collection or post the Form (NOT the money) using the pre-Paid Envelope. If you have a Missio Box at home, please bring back this week.

Bereaved of the Past Year are being invited to Mass, 2nd/ 3rd November. The Names of the Deceased whose Funerals took place over the past year (early- October 2018 to late September 2019) from here, will be read out & a candle lit.

Eastfield Cemetery Prayer Service & Blessing of Graves for those buried/ whose final resting place is there at 3pm on Sunday, 3rd November. A Plenary Indulgence for the Souls in Purgatory is available from Midday 1st Nov to Midnight on 2nd Nov in any Church, in addition for visiting a cemetery and praying for those buried there, from 1st- 8th Nov. Mass on All Souls Day will be at 10am (and then Sunday Vigil Mass at 6pm). Please do not get “hung up” on Indulgences. While bearing the heat & the burden of the day, you raise your mind & heart to God… IS already an Indulgence.

Church Workers’ Social Parish Pastoral Council is hosting a social event for those parishioners who are volunteers in our parish. If you volunteer in any capacity within the parish then you are welcome to join us on the evening. Buffet provided; last orders 11.30pm. The event will take place on Friday, 15th November. If you are interested in attending please sign the sheet in the porch area. Spouses are also welcome. Over 18s only.

Unveiling Ceremony at Cardowan Coliery Mining Memorial (due to take place on Saturday 19th Oct) Erection of a Memorial to all those who lost their lives working in Cardowan Coliery and all others who through working there were injured, maimed and hastened to an early grave. (At time of press) Ann (born Hackett) McArthur is due to represent Holy Cross Parish Pastoral Council, and lay a wreath on behalf of this parish. At various times many men from this parish would have worked there (and sadly whose funerals came back here). Both Croy Silver Band and Croy Community Choir are also due to participate at the Erection of the Memorial.

Dance Classes resume after the October Break; Saturdays (9.30am- 12.30pm)… various times according to grouping in Parish Hall.
