DESIGN FLEXIBILITY

HunterDouglas® Panel Systems within the Sun Louvreproduct range, give architects the freedom to choose theright system to meet aesthetic, performance and comfortcriteria.

Create an elegant, light appearance with gently curvededges with aluminium rollformed panels 84R, 70S and132S. For designs with a more defined look, extrudedaluminium panels 100R and 110HC are the ideal choice.Almost all HunterDouglas® Panel Systems can be mountedon the same substructure and projected horizontally, vertically or angled.

DURABILITY

The high quality components, used to manufacture thePanel Systems, deliver high performance and lowmaintenance: products built to last.

EASY INSTALLATION

Panel Systems are easy and quick to install with very fewtools required. All systems (excluding 110HC) can beinstalled using the same extruded aluminium substructure.

Steel wall brackets fitted to the façade ensure the carrierprofiles with brackets or stringers are easily fixed in place.Panels are snapped into place on the brackets or stringerswithout tools. As an option for horizontal applications,a fascia can be fitted to the carrier profiles.

The 110HC Panel System is made of extruded aluminiumpanels which are assembled in a frame. Relatively smallsegments can be mounted on the façade as a pre-assembled unit for quick installation. Larger segmentsneed to be assembled on the building.

110HCSYSTEM DESCRIPTIONThe HunterDouglas® 110HC Panel Systemis made of extruded aluminium panelsassembled in a frame and has a robust,high-tech appearance.

INSTALLATIONHunterDouglas® 110HC Panel Systemallows easy and quick installation with veryfew tools. With relatively small segmentsthe system can be mounted to the façadeas a pre-assembled unit. Larger segmentsneed to be assembled on the building site.Once the steel wall brackets have beenfitted to the façade, the support arms mustbe mounted. The panels and the spacerblocks slide into place between the fittedsupport arms.

Finally the front of the system must becovered with one of the available fascias.Hunter Douglas offers 2 standard fasciaprofiles:- the channel (35 x 115 mm)- the bull nose (135 x 115 mm)

The 110HC panel system can be installedin 2 ways:

CONSTRUCTIONThe panels have sufficient rigidity to span1800 mm without interme dia te supportarms (subject to site conditions). Panels arelocked in place by precision injectionmolded non-vibrating polypropylene spacerblocks. The design guarantees rigidity andis rattle-free.

The end support arm and the intermediatesupport arm profiles are 35 x 110 mm and55 x 110 mm. To achieve a rigid fixingmethod to the wall brackets a void of 100 x 9 mm is provided in the centre ofeach support arm (7).

LUXACOTE® (Only for the roll formed panels)Luxacote® is an exclusive Hunter Douglas innovationthat enhances the durability of exterior aluminiumbuilding applications. Its strength and efficiencycomes from a powerful 3-layered system thatconsists of an anorcoat pretreatment, a colourcoating, and a transparent topcoat.

Anorcoat - The Key to DurabilityAfter degreasing and cleaning the aluminium substrate, an anorcoat conversion layer isapplied to the product. This conversion layer accomplishes two things:- Permanently anchors the paint to the aluminium surface- Protects the aluminium surface from corrosion

Anorcoat is the key to the excellent performance of the Luxacote®® system; it provides farsuperior protection than conventional conversion layers.

Colour coating - Powerful PigmentsThe base of the pigmented coating of Luxacote® is polyurethane. The colour coatingcontains no chlorides, fluorides, or halogens. To ensure optimal colour-fastness, we onlyuse colour-stable pigments.

Topcoat - The Final TouchThe transparent polyurethane topcoat with polyamide particles finishes the Luxacote®

system, giving products a highly scratch- and wear-resistant surface. Additionally, thetopcoat protects from UV rays, improving the durability of the colour and gloss. Hunter Douglas has completely integrated the application of Luxacote® into the productionprocess. The result: extremely durable products with slightly textured surfaces that managepotentially damaging outdoor conditions.

A spectrum of strength: the colours of Luxacote®

The colours available to the Luxacote® system vary from traditional subtle shades to vivid, bold and exciting colour palettes. A full range of metallic colours is also available.

Material specificationsRoll formed 84R, 70S and 132S panelsThe panels are roll formed from 0.6 mmthick pre-painted (Luxacote® system) stoveenameled aluminium strip (according to EN 1396). The strip is made from acorrosion resistant alloy EN AW-3005 orequivalent.

There is a wide standard colour rangeavailable for the roll formed panels. See theHunterDouglas® Exterior colour program.Other (RAL or NCS) colours are available on request. The panels have a full whitecoating on the back-side to enhanceinterior light levels.

Extruded 100R and 110HC panelsThe panels are aluminium extruded(according to EN 755-9) made fromcorrosion resistant alloy EN-AW 6060 T66.The thickness of the 100R and 110HCpanels is 1.8 mm. Both panels can bepost-painted or anodised. Post painted isdone with a polyester powder coating (PPC)with an average thickness of 60 micron.Anodising is done according to theEuropean standard EN 12373.

COMFORT AND ENERGY SAVING

Using the right HunterDouglas® Sun Controlsystem can greatly influence the thermaland visual indoor climate. Using the systemintelligently both improves the overallcomfort of a room, and minimises energycosts (lighting, heating and coolinginstallations).

By effectively reducing the amount of solarradiation entering the building with SunControl systems, the amount of energyneeded to cool the building is immediatelydecreased. Therefore, the capacity of thecooling equipment can be reduced, resulting in lower initial investments andoperational costs.

By either blocking, transmitting, orreflecting direct sunlight and daylight theHunterDouglas® Sun Control systems makeoptimal use of this free source of light. By analysing the shading performance, optimal daylight levels are achieved andglare kept to a minimum, resulting in ahealthy and productive workingenvironment.

LIGHT AND ENERGY TOOL

The Hunter Douglas engineers calculateoptimal solar shading solutions using theHunter Douglas Light and Energy tool. The tool can demonstrate the effects of arange of shading solutions for the buildingand its occupants. By analysing this data a complete solution can be developed tomeet all the specified building performancecriteria for a project. The results andrecommendations from the Light andEnergy Tool presented in a report can beadded to the building specifications, ensuring that all criteria are fully met.
