ResearchSmall indie band, ‘Little Comets’, had inspired

GoldBloom’s indie style as a band of three members. I really liked how their cool, quirky

images portrayed them, as a band, quite laid back, loving life, enjoying making music having fun at

the same time

From being inspired by ‘Little Comets’, I was able to have a sense of direction on the style and type of message that the band were to portray to their specific social group, and led me to decided what type of social group they were

promoting their music to!

ESTP: Extraverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving

ESTPs are outgoing, straight-shooting types. Enthusiastic and excitable, ESTPs are "doers" who live in the world of action. Blunt, straight-forward risk-takers, they are willing to plunge right into things and get their hands dirty. They live in the here-and-now, and place little importance on introspection or theory. The look at the facts of a situation, quickly decide what should be done, execute the action, and move on to the next thing.

Rules and laws are seen as guidelines for behavior, rather than mandates. If the ESTP has decided that something needs to be done, then their "do it and get on with it" attitude takes precendence over the rules. However, the ESTP tends to have their own strong belief in what's right and what's wrong, and will doggedly stick to their principles. They love to have fun, and are fun people to be around.

ESTPs have a natural abundance of energy and enthusiasm, which makes them natural entrepreneurs. They get very excited about things, and have the ability to motivate others to excitement and action. The can sell anyone on any idea. They are action-oriented, and make decisions quickly. All-in-all, they have extraordinary talents for getting things started. They are not usually so good at following through, and might leave those tasks to others. Mastering the art of following through is something which ESTPs should pay special attention to.

ESTPs are practical, observant, fun-loving, spontaneous risk-takers with an excellent ability to quickly improvise an innovative solution to a problem. They're enthusiastic and fun to be with, and are great motivators. If an ESTP recognizes their real talents and operates within those realms, they can accomplish truly exciting things.

After finding out about the ‘personality’ definition of ESTP’s, I believe that the GoldBloom sum up to the exact definition, and social groups or people with the same attitude would be the type of people that GoldBloom would want to promote their music too, and they would be the type of people who would like the bands attitude in life which if reflected upon their music.

Even pictures can represent a particular social group. These images below are images that I have taken of GoldBloom’s prize possession, and objects that

basically sum up the band, and their lifestyle. Images can symbolise a person or band, and can also define a specific social group.

For example, this image of a row of vintage beer bottles, symbolises the bands ‘vintage’ style, but also indicates that they like to drink (hense the collection) which has connotations for a ‘care-

free’ fun loving ‘rock’n’roll’ lifestyle that would be suited to a specific social group who have the

same intentions of life

As GoldBloom are a music band, they are interssted and love their instruments. There aim in life is

to enjoy making music and enjoy promoting it to the world. Social groups that the band promote to,

would also have to be wither musicians, in a band or have the same passion for making music

as the band do.

GoldBloom: “we just wear what we feel like wearing”

Mise en scene, involving ‘what the band wear’ is a massive indication of the effect of particular social groups. As the band’s target audience

is mid-teens, style is extremely important for them, however GoldBloom do not have specific style, they just wear what they like, this links back to their relaxed, chilled out approach which reflects

their purpose in life and their music. This is aimed at particular social groups, preferably ‘indie group’s who do not have a specific style, and

like to wear what they feel like wearing.

Product itself...In today’s society, any music band or artists need to consider that today’s modern audience are internet interactive. The modern day audience have

become much more ‘needy’ in finding and receiving information quick, fast and efficient. GoldBloom have acknowledged this aspect by promoting their music through social networking site, e.g. ‘Facebook’, creating a sound file on ‘Sound

Cloud’ and posting images, blogs and tour dates on their newly realised website, which also includes a promotional video. The particular social groups

that would be interested in the small indie band, would be ‘internet users’ scouting on youtube to find unsigned, artist/bands that have not been

recognised in the wide mediated society.
