Unique optical systemdistributes more light withgreater uniformity.A special optical system was produced in orderto achieve maximum itlumination with minimumglare to accommodate the luminaire's range ofcapability - up to 400 watts high pressure sodium.A contorued reflector spreads the lamp imageover the entire surface of the prismatic refractor.This. combined with the action of the prismatic re-fractor, virtually eliminates disturbing hot spots.Although the luminaire presents a clean, uni-

form appearance by day, its single-piece prismaticrefractor is actually designed vith three distinctareas. These optimize efficiency of illuminationand maximize visual comfort:First, splitting prisms on the inside surface ofthe refractor plus fluting on the outside, combineto direct more light where it's needed.Second, a rectangular prismatic panel across theface of the refractor obscures the lamp, splits thebeam, and projects its output nniformly acrossthe area to be illuminated.And third, the sidewalls of the refractor pro-vide a degree of backlighting, and also redirectlight energy which substantially adds to forwarddistribution.

Available mounting height is 15 feet.
