According a research study by The Shapiro Group and Market Street:

• When consumers know that a business is a member of the local chamber, they are 44% more likely to think favorably about it.

• Consumers who are told that a business is a chamber member are 51% more likely to be highly aware of it and 57% more likely to think positively of its local reputation.

• Consumers are 63% more likely to buy goods and services in the future from a company that they believe is a member of the local chamber of commerce.

• When a consumer thinks that a company’s products stack up better against the competition because the company is highly involved in its local chamber of com-merce, it is because he or she infers that the

company is trustworthy, involved in the commu-nity, and is an industry leader.

The study also has good news for businesses that sell to other busi-nesses.

• When business decision-makers believe that a business is a cham-ber member, they are 37% more likely to think favorably of the business, 51% more likely to be highly aware of it, 58% more likely to think posi-tively of its local reputa-tion, and 59% more likely to buy goods and services from it.

The results of the Sha-piro study are clear: Posi-tive perception increases among consumers and business owners when a business is identified as a member of the local chamber of commerce.

We have been very active this year! We are pleased to offer many money saving benefits to

Partnership for Hilliard Food PantryIn the spirit on helping

those in need, the Hilliard Area Chamber of Com-merce has partnered with Painter & Westfall, LLC, Attorneys at Law and Destination Hilliard to try to raise money for the Hilliard Food Pantry to assist those who live in our own community with perishable food. The food pantry gives non-per-ishable food to those in

need, but also tries to give a grocery gift card so that the family can purchase milk, vegetables, fruit, etc. Please think about donat-ing through the Hilliard Community Assistance Council website (www.hilliardfoodpantry.com) or you may drop off your check made payable to that organization to the Chamber office or mail it directly to them.

Should you want to purchase your own gro-cery gift card and donate it, the amount should not exceed $15 per card. You may donate as many gift cards as you like. The Hilliard Community As-sistance Council is a 501 c 3 and your donations are tax deductible. For fur-ther information or ques-tions you may contact the Chamber.
