What’s Next??? Each team must complete the
following steps:– Investigate zoning and assess the
surrounding business community – Compose interview questions that could
be used to find out what locals would like to see in place of the vacant lot
![Page 13: High School of Business Project #2 – Make the Most of It Business Economics.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032723/56649d025503460f949d4e4f/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
What’s Next???– Class should compare the questions and select
the best questions to use for the interviews – Interview people in vacant lot’s neighborhood to
learn what they would like to see in place of that vacant lot
– Each team member should interview at least two people in the neighborhood, and students should make an effort to get responses from both the business community and residents
– Each team should compile a list of the interviewees’ names, addresses, and responses
![Page 14: High School of Business Project #2 – Make the Most of It Business Economics.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032723/56649d025503460f949d4e4f/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
What’s Next???– After conducting the interviews, use feedback
and innovation skills to brainstorm for specific uses of the property
– Select the three best uses for the property from its list
– Determine the opportunity costs associated with each of the three possible uses for the property
Consider such factors as potential revenue generated, jobs created, aesthetics of neighborhood, etc.

use for the property – Develop and use a decision matrix to
determine the best use for the vacant lot

![Page 18: High School of Business Project #2 – Make the Most of It Business Economics.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032723/56649d025503460f949d4e4f/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Oral Presentation Each team delivers a five-minute
presentation to the local Chamber of Commerce identifying how they would put the vacant lot to best use and the rationale for their decision
Allow time for Chamber of Commerce representatives to ask questions, make suggestions, and select which team’s idea the Chamber of Commerce likes best and reasons for that selection
![Page 19: High School of Business Project #2 – Make the Most of It Business Economics.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022032723/56649d025503460f949d4e4f/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
