Inguinal Hernia Medical Definition and Causes

Definition A hernia occurs when part of an organ (usually the intestines) sticks

through a weak point or tear in the thin muscular wall that holds the abdominal organs in place.

There are several types of hernias, based on where they occur:

Inguinal hernia appears as a bulge in the groin or scrotum. This type is more common in men than women.

Femoral hernia appears as a bulge in the upper thigh. This type is more common in women than in men.

Incisional hernia can occur through a scar if you have had abdominal surgery.

Umbilical hernia appears as a bulge around the belly button. It occurs when the muscle around the navel doesn't close completely.

Causes

Usually, there is no obvious cause of a hernia, although they are sometimes associated with heavy lifting.

Hernias can be seen in infants and children. This can happen when the lining around the abdominal organs does not close properly before birth. About 5 out of 100 children have inguinal hernias (more boys than girls). Some may not have symptoms until adulthood.

Hydrocele

A hydrocele is a fluid-filled sack along the spermatic cord within the scrotum.

Causes Hydroceles are common in newborn infants. During normal development, the testicles descend down a tube from the

abdomen into the scrotum. Hydroceles result when this tube fails to close. Fluid drains from the abdomen through the open tube. The fluid builds up in the scrotum, where it becomes trapped. This causes the scrotum to become swollen.

Hydroceles normally go away a few months after birth, but their appearance may worry new parents. Occasionally, a hydrocele may be associated with an inguinal hernia.

Hydroceles may also be caused by inflammation or injury of the testicle or epididymis, or by fluid or blood blockage within the spermatic cord. This type of hydrocele is more common in older men.

Introduction to the Cayce Readings on Health and Healing

No matter what illness or ailment concerns us, certain basic principles about

health and healing are relevant. These are the premises upon which all of the Cayce health information rests. For those who would like to make a more careful study of these basic principles, the recommended Circulating File is entitled Principles of Healing. Here, in essence, are the ideas found in that file. They may prove to be very useful to your study of the specific ailment that requires healing for you.

The first fundamental idea about healing requires that we maintain a creative balance between two principles:

1. All healing comes from the infinite - that is, from attunement and harmony with our spiritual source. The infinite is just as accessible and available in the visible, physical world as it is in the invisible realm.

2. At the same time, each person must take responsibility for his or her own healing process. No one can simply sit back and wait passively for healing to occur.

This second principle - the need for self-responsibility - can take many forms.

For example, healing requires attunement, and no one knows better than ourselves exactly what has gotten us out of attunement. Often, if we look closely at our lives, we can see (without needing a gifted medical clairvoyant such as Edgar Cayce) what's causing our illness.

To illustrate self-responsibility further, the human body has a marvelous, innate drive to heal itself, but we've got to do our part to help. A broken bone will naturally try to mend; however, the fracture needs to be set properly for the healing to be complete and effective. Cayce stresses the healing ability of the body:

Remember, the body does gradually renew itself constantly. Do not look upon the conditions which have existed as not being able to be eradicated from the system. . . Hold to that KNOWLEDGE - and don't think of it as just theory - that the body CAN, the body DOES renew itself! 1548-3

Another important principle relates to energy medicine, a new field for which Edgar Cayce was a pioneer. His readings consistently speak of the roles played by vibrations or vibratory forces - right down to the level of individual atoms. According to Cayce, there is a type of consciousness that exists in each atom. Although most of the passages about the atomic physics of healing seem rather esoteric, it might be easier to follow the analogy of the attunement of a stringed musical instrument. A violin or piano that is out of tune makes sour, discordant music - symbolic of disease or illness. Just as a skilled musician can bring the instrument back into attunement, we experience healing when our vibrations - right down to the atomic level - are adjusted in a correct manner. In essence, all healing is bringing the vibrations into harmony from within.

Balance among body, mind, and spirit is another key to Cayce's philosophy of healing. For healing to be complete and lasting, we must recognize and meet the needs of each of these three levels. Virtually no illness or disease can be treated successfully at only one of these three levels.

What's more, Cayce affirms that the human body will naturally stay healthy - and even rejuvenate itself - if a kind of internal balance can be maintained. ―Dis-ease ― starts when one part of the body draws energy from another part. One portion of an organism may become overcharged with the creative life force, while another portion becomes undernourished. The result is a gradual disintegration of the body and the onset of illness.

The opposite of this sort of disintegration is rejuvenation. The readings assert that we are continuously rebuilding our bodies. Within any seven-year period, each cell is replaced. If we'll allow it, our bodies will transform any problem and resuscitate any condition. But our ingrained habits usually block this healing potential - the habits of action and, even more potent, the habits of mind.

What role do drugs and medicine play in the healing process? Cayce's philosophy clearly sees a place for them, but warns of misunderstanding how they work and of expecting more of them than is possible. Any healing method attempts to create an experience of oneness, in hopes of then stimulating a similar response in the body. For some people in some situations, a drug may be the best way to accomplish this - just as in other cases surgery may be the best way to stimulate healing. Medicines can be a practical application of the one life force. Occasionally they must be very potent in their reactions in order to get the patient through an acute illness. But Cayce from time to time encouraged people to consider the herbal formulas he recommended to be tonics and stimulants, rather than medicines.

The dangerous side of medicines is their potential to diminish the body's own healing work. This is what Cayce alluded to when he warned about ―palliatives― that deceive the soul with half-truths and temporary relief. It's also what he meant when he warned that we shouldn't come to rely on any condition outside of ourselves that could be assimilated by the body inwardly. All of this is to say, take the medications prescribed by the physician you trust. Keep in mind this thought: what those chemicals can do is temporarily - and somewhat artificially - give your body an experience of greater oneness.

Healing that really takes hold and lasts must come from changing one's inner consciousness and vibration. That happens most effectively from consistent and persistent human effort (that is, engaging one's desires, purposes, and will) - something that pills all too easily allow us to skip.

These have been long-standing. Do not take the treatments just a few days, or even a few weeks, and expect to be well - and then revert to old conditions. But be consistent and persistent! Have periods when these will be taken (that is, ALL of those things indicated) for two, three to four weeks. Then rest by leaving them off a week. And then be just as patient and just as persistent as though you were beginning all over again. 976-1

Cayce's healing philosophy includes other insights that can help us avoid

misunderstanding. For example, one principle states that the best treatment procedures sometimes cause a temporary worsening of conditions. If we didn't recognize this possibility, we might give up just before the benefits begin to appear. A closely related principle states that when a body is re-establishing its attunement, it tends to be more sensitive. Again, if we misunderstand that heightened sensitivity, we might not see the good that is slowly being effected.

The mind is a focus of other healing principles. The unconscious mind plays a role in many illnesses and diseases. One example of this is the karmic factor in

health problems. Memories from previous incarnations, stored in the soul mind, can trigger problems in the body. Of course, we shouldn't go so far as to suppose that every health challenge has past-life roots; nevertheless, the perspective of reincarnation can help us understand what we could possibly be dealing with as we seek healing.

The familiar Cayce axiom, ―Mind is the builder,‖ leads us to wonder exactly which attitudes and emotions best foster healing. The readings emphasize several:

Self-acceptance. As we rid ourselves of self-condemnation, we make room for healing forces to enter.

Optimism and hope. We're encouraged to expect healing. Patience. It's much easier and quicker to destroy health than it is to rebuild it.

We need to be willing to patiently invest whatever time is required.

Alongside these specific attitudes and emotions, we're invited to use the creative potential of visualization to stimulate our own healing. The mind's image-making capacity can be directed in such a way that we ―see‖ the healing transformation taking place. This is not something that's accomplished in a single visualization session. Like all the Cayce health-promoting approaches, it requires persistence and works best in conjunction with other healing methods.

Perhaps the most important principle of the mind's relationship to healing concerns purposefulness. A person can experience temporarily an outer healing - that is, in the physical body only - yet still be spiritually sick. What cures the soul? A commitment to a purposeful life. Not just any purpose, but instead one that reflects care for other people.

On occasion a reading from Cayce would pose this question to the person who was ill: What would you do with your life if you were healed?

What would the body be healed for? That it might gratify its own physical appetites? That it might add to its own selfishness? Then (if so) it had better remain as it is. . . But first the change of heart, the change of mind, the change of purpose, the change of intent. 3124-2 The position of Cayce's psychic source was simply this: Why correct the

physical condition unless there's also going to be an inner correction? People who are looking for both inner and outer healing are the best candidates for restored health and vitality. In Cayce's philosophy, healing should equip us to be more useful to others.

With this ideal of service in mind, we might also wonder just how we can be channels of healing to others. What principles govern our efforts to be healers to those for whom we have concern? One principle is based on the spiritual connections that exist between all people. It states that as we bring the experience of oneness into our own consciousness, it can profoundly help someone else experience oneness, attunement, and healing. Cayce's way of putting it was, ―...raising the Christ Consciousness in self to such an extent as it may flow out of self to him thou would direct it to. ― (281-7)

For this to be most effective, the recipient must desire such help and have requested healing prayer. Of course, we can always pray for someone, even if that individual hasn't asked us. But it's important that we not assume we know what's needed in any person's life. For one who hasn't specifically asked for prayer, we can

simply offer prayers of protection and blessing, rather than try to direct healing energies to that person or for a specific condition.

It is also important to remember that each reading was given for an individual. It must be emphasized that no suggested treatments for any particular ailments should be ―lifted ― from any individual reading and tried by another individual except under the supervision of and with the cooperation of a physician or licensed health care professional. However, there were many suggestions that were given over and over, and these can be studied to find how they apply to ourselves. These healing principles can be grouped in four categories that referred to as CARE.

Circulation – moving the blood around the body through therapies such as massage or spinal manipulation

Assimilation – encouraging the body to pull the proper nutrients from the food by eating the proper foods and in the proper combinations

Relaxation – taking time to rest and let the body recuperate and counterbalance the daily activities

Elimination – removing the waste products from the body through therapies such as sweats, colonics, and fume baths

Castor Oil for Hernias by William A. McGarey, M.D.

The Oil that Heals

Healing of the human body comes about in a variety of ways, but the Cayce readings emphasize the concept that consciousness of the individual is the real determining factor. Every organ, every cell, every atom has its own type of consciousness. Each part of God's world, down to its molecular and atomic structure, is aware of its own individual job, its origin and its destiny, as a manifestation of the Creative Forces of the universe.

This is one of the reasons why I am fascinated by the variety of illnesses and conditions of the body that respond to the oil of the lowly castor bean. It can certainly cleanse the body – most of us recall that effect clearly from our childhood, when we are given a bit of that oil to clean us out. If cleansing is part of the nature of consciousness of castor oil, then logically it will cleanse wherever it is applied. Proper cleansing allows cellular structures to function more normally and often to regenerate themselves.

A recent letter reminded me of this. It came from a man who had suffered a condition usually cleared up only by surgery – inguinal hernia. When he was seventy-one, he began wearing a standard hernia support because he felt a strain in the left inguinal area. Four years later the same condition showed up on the right side, so he switched to a double hernia support. Later on that year, when his right hernia bulged out rather severely, he underwent surgery on that side.

For the next two years he continued wearing the appliance on the left side, but neither side "felt real good." So, he started to massage both areas with hot castor oil, using a rotary motion – clockwise on the left, counterclockwise on the right.

"I did this in units of 100 massage strokes, then rested for a while and repeated ten or twelve more units," he told me. "Consequently, each area received 1,000 to 1,200 rotary strokes. Castor oil was applied liberally during the massage and perhaps two to three tablespoonfuls were absorbed by the body. When finished, I would not wash but just wiped off the surplus oil with paper towels. In several weeks both areas felt better. I followed the massage procedure three or four times a week. In several months, things were greatly improved."

He no longer wore a hernia belt, only an athletic supporter. Occasionally he noticed discomfort and some swelling, but those conditions cleared up after several months. He continued the massages once or twice a week as insurance. When he wrote, at age seventy-nine and a year-and-a-half after starting the oil treatments, he reported that his condition had cleared up: "I lift whatever has to be lifted. Once it was necessary to lift 100 pounds. In fact, I don't think about the hernia any more.‖

I agree with my correspondent when he tells me, "I'm sure the massage was a factor in my healing. However, I strongly feel the castor oil that was absorbed by my body did a great deal of good"

Such an experience is exhilarating – to him and to me. This patient's experience is much like Cayce's comments on how healing comes about:

Know that all strength, all healing of every nature is the changing of the vibrations from within-the attuning of the Divine within the living tissue of a body to Creative Energies. This alone is healing. Whether it is accomplished by the use of drugs, the knife or whatnot, it is the attuning of the atomic structure of the living cellular force to its spiritual heritage. (1967-1) Keep this awareness within your own inner being and you'll experience a

leap in consciousness every time you overcome an illness of the physical body.

6/27/72 Mrs. Byron Moreland's report: "My husband has a good friend who recently was about to undergo

surgery for a hernia. The doctor told him it would cost at least $300 just for the surgery and hospital, not to mention the time he would have to take off from his work. The week before he was to go to the hospital my husband told him about the castor oil packs that Edgar Cayce prescribed. His wife said 'Let's try it', and he did. The result was that his hernia completely disappeared! When he went back to his doctor the man was completely baffled and asked what he had done. Our friend said, 'I won't tell you - but it only cost me 39 cents!' We passed this same remedy on to the mother of our neighbor, an elderly lady suffering from a hernia in her upper abdomen somewhere. She has used the packs and says she does not have any pain anymore."

Extracts from the Readings 859-1, Adult Male, 3/28/35 (Q) Does the present hernia require an operation? (A) This would not be best with the condition of the system in the present; for we have very poor healing properties in the blood supply, as indicated. When the body is better, or the blood supply, the normal eliminations and the normal activity for coagulations through the body, it would be much preferable to have the operation than to have to have the stress of the irritation by the using of a truss throughout the rest of the experience. 1152-8, Female 64, 4/21/1939 (Q) If my hernia is held in place constantly day and night, will the hole in the inner pelvic lining heal satisfactorily? (A) This will depend upon the ability of producing through the area the circulation that would aid in bringing such about. With the use of such as a knot or rosette or something of the kind under a belt, would be the better way and manner of keeping same in place. This can be judged best by those making the adjustments and attempting to produce better circulation through the areas, see? 1152-13, Female 66 (same woman as above), 12/6/41 (Q) Much time and expense has been given to belts, etc., to support the hernia that has been so painful at night. Will these that I have ordered be satisfactory for myself and others with this affliction? (A) As we find, if these are properly adjusted, these should be satisfactory. 1315-11, Female 50, 11/18/42 Do wear a support; this preferably of a nature that holds the abdomen thoroughly in place, until there is the full or complete healing where there have been operative measures…. (Q) Why do I get a slight pain in my side where the operation was, after I've been sitting a while and want to move about? (A) This is lack of proper coordination in the circulation, as we have indicated. This makes for the tired condition, as well as the irritation in the superficial circulation. The hot and cold, and the massage, and especially with the corrections and with those properties taken internally as given, will correct these disturbances, - if consistently taken. 1455-3, Male 25, 4/14/38 (Q) What is the condition of the ruptured portion of my body and would it be wise to wear a truss? (A) Be very well, if properly fitted. 3276-2, Male 54, 11/3/43 (Q) What can be done to cure my hernia? (A) Best to wear the truss until there can be operative measures for the hernia, but we wouldn't suggest this in the present. The stimulation of this by massage with oils will aid in closing the folds where this is produced. Use an equal combination of Olive Oil, Peanut Oil, Pine Oil and Cedar Wood Oil.

To bring about the better condition, then, would be through that manipulation of the portions of body in that way of the neuropath or osteopath, and by massaging into this portion of the system those of equal parts of olive oil and arnica, and keep this bandaged until the condition has the chance to heal and strengthen; of course, removing bandage when these manipulations and emplacements are made, which should be done at least every other day, see? and at each time this is done, massage in the system, gently, those properties as given, for the strengthening of the walls. 5. Then, modifying the diet, as that will meet with the needs of the system, to produce the normal action of the intestine, else we will produce so much inflammation as to give appendicitis to the body, and necessitate operation, see? 6. I am sure condition has not improved any as far as the hernia is concerned, but his general condition has been wonderful. The modifying of his food has brought about the good movement of bowels daily, and the little man certainly did grow, but he has been pretty sick this past week with the 'Flu' or bad cold, had the croup too, but he is about straight again today with the exception of a very bad cough which makes the hernia drop very bad... GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the further improvement of same. You will answer the questions regarding this body that I will ask you. 2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. This we have had before. The general physical condition of body is on the improve. There are those conditions of congestion that are existent, or dregs of same are existent, in the vibratory forces of the blood and cell building centers in the system. These need attention, in the way of an alkaline stimulant to the intestinal system, to enliven the eliminating centers and thereby rid the system of these conditions. Such as will be found in very weak sage tea, with catnip in same, see? That is, steep a pinch of the sage in 4 to 6 ounces of distilled water, for half to three-quarters of an hour. Strain off. Then add 2 to 3 leaves of dried or of green catnip, and let THIS steep for ten to fifteen minutes; that is, after the water is heated, see? Then strain. Sweeten just a little - very little - just so that it will be taken. A few drops at the time may be given, see, until there is full action from the bowels. 3. The condition in the system where the tissue shows how that, with the dilation of the intestine, tissue is separated, this shows some improvement; though, as is seen, this of necessity requires time and attention. As is seen, the manipulations as have been given are GOOD. [Neuropathically by Mrs. Mamie Butler Gray.] 4. The packs as hold the system in place - better use that as has been lately received or prepared for same, than the packs in the manner that have been used. EC: Yes - Now, we find there are some exaggerations of the condition as has already been existent in this body, and that there are other conditions with same that cause distress and disturbance to those about this body at the present time. 3. Those conditions as necessary to bring about the correction of these would be to cut down, or change the food, see? and reduce the temperature, and the eliminations be set up by rubbing spine with coco - quinine at least once each day using also, as an inhalant, these properties. These may be used in a croup cup, which would be the most effective, for they will act not only as an antiseptic for the blood supply through the blood in and out through the body as it is inhaled, but will also be taken sufficient to act as an antiseptic through the intestinal system. To the small amount, then as would be placed in cup would be as this: 4. To 4 ounces of grain alcohol, add:

5. Small quantity - full teaspoonful, see? be placed in the cup at the time. Let this be breathed in by the body, see? 6. For the condition as is seen as in the side, or the hernia as is shown here, well that this be kept bandaged and greased with Iodex, or any property that reduces soreness across the abdomen and various portions of the body, as is shown from the condition existent. Do that. Ready for questions. 7. (Q) What amount of food should be taken at a time, and how often? (A) Cut the quantity in half of that as has been given, and give about half the number of times as has been feeding, see? until the conditions are reduced.

Well that enemas be used of lukewarm water, but not sufficient should these be taken as to cause the distress of the hernia condition, see? Well that lower intestines, though, be cleansed. This will reduce temperature also, you see. Inhalations should be taken whenever necessary, see? at least once - twice each day, or in evenings, if more than one is necessary, see? The massage or the rubs with the cocoa-quinine - coco butter - over the spinal system, should be at least once each day - well rubbed in, see? Massage about the hernia, and those portions of the system that show those abrasions at present, with the Iodex, about twice each day, and especially after a movement or action from the bowels, see? that we may reduce the temperature and inflammation. R E A D I N G Time of Reading 11: 55 to 12: 10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Alabama. (Physical Suggestion) 1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [318]; this we have had before. 2. Now, as we find, there are some changes in the general physical conditions of the body since last we had same here. 3. In some respects conditions are not so good; in others they may be said to be developing in a normal manner, through those relationships that exist in the general physical functioning of the body. 4. Where there are the specific conditions that disturb the better physical functioning, these - as we find - have not grown better. Neither has there been the proper extension of the folds or muscular reactions that should bring about normalcy for the body. 5. Under such a stress or strain it will be rather out of line with normal development for the body to be strong, robust, and to build up the proper resistances, with this constant irritation that saps not only the vitality of the system - with the PHYSICAL reactions or exercise that is normal or proper for the body, but the general trend or tendency with this irritation is to create irritability in the MENTAL reactions also of the body. 6. Now, while there may be the use of those supports, or those treatments may be applied wherein the condition may be kept reduced to such an extent as to make for LESS irritation, LESS disturbance, but for the correction of same ENTIRELY - as we find - the operation would be the safest, the sanest, and eventually the best for the conditions of the body. 7. In the present, then, for the easing of the condition, we would have fit to the body a brace - or PRESSURE brace - which will relieve much of the irritation. 8. We would also have a treatment or massage for the body, at least three times a week, when the body is ready for retiring in the evening; when it has been prepared for retirement and the truss or belt has been removed. We would massage all over the abdominal area equal parts of olive oil and tincture of myrrh; heating the oil and adding the myrrh. Prepare this just before giving the treatment, and the proportions or quantity would be about two teaspoonsful of each, see? Dip the ends of fingers into solution (of course, when it has been cooled sufficiently for this to be done) and massage gently over the abdomen

and across the small of the back. This will not only REST the body and make for the better reactions in the system, but make for the resting of the general physical condition; as well as building up the general reactions for the system. 9. Then, when it is time - or as soon as it may be done - we would have the operative measures for the correction of conditions. 10. We will find that a general diet will also be somewhat HELPFUL to the body; so we would alter the diet to such as this: 11. Mornings - citrus fruit juices, preferably with the pulp; oranges at times, lemons at times, grapefruit at other times. Following this we would have whole wheat toast, or cakes, with milk - and honey as the sweetening, or sweets that are eaten at the meal. 12. At other periods we would have the cooked whole wheat cereal; or Wheaties, Grape Nuts, or any of those that carry a great deal of iron and vitamins for the system. 13. But do not give the cereals and the fruit juices, or citrus fruit, at the same meal - see? 14. Noons - a general diet; as a great deal of butter and bread, a great deal of those foods that carry a high calorie content in the carbohydrates - or the sweets, provided they are honey based, see? for these will act with digestive forces in system much better than those of corn or cane sweets. 15. Evenings - a great deal of the whole vegetables, well- balanced with meats; that is, all the leafy vegetables that agree with the body. And let several of the evening meals each week carry calf's liver, hog tripe or beef tripe, mutton and the like. Do not feed or give the body hog meats. 16. We will find, these will bring much better conditions for the body. 17. Drink as much milk as the body may well take at such meals. The dried milks or the Bulgarian milks are better than the sweet milk. 18. Ready for questions. 19. (Q) For how long would it be well to carry this treatment, before the operation? The Bulgarian milk is put up in tablet form, or in Bulgarian tablets that you put with some other milk - and it works especially for tender stomaches, and where there is needed to be built up fats in the system; though, of course, this is not fattening; in fact, Bulgarian milk is given for people who are excessively fat - or who run to excess in fats. Of course, you know I'll be very anxious to know the surgeon's report when you have had the opportunity to consult him. I'm certainly sorry that [318] has the whooping cough; for I know it tends to aggravate the condition for him at this time, and I'm glad you have been able to get the truss fitted so that it will prevent so much straining that would naturally come from the coughing." R4. 11/5/33 "[318] had the sore or pink eyes and was out of school for a week, and he seems to be well, but still one of his eyes becomes very inflamed every few days and when he reads we note that water runs from his eyes. His mother advised us few days ago that it might be well to keep him out of school for the session or till his eyes are strong again. You will find a very good thing to take the inflammation out of his eyes would be to use potato poultices; the old potatoes. Of course, all of them are old now, but I mean by that don't use the new potatoes. Don't use too large a quantity, but scrape the potato very fine and bind it (of course with the eyes closed) over the eyes, using a piece of gauze to keep it in place, and let it remain at least thirty to forty minutes - just about when he is ready to retire. Afterwards, when you take it off, bathe his eyes very good with a weak solution of boracic acid. This will cure up all this trouble and prevent his having irritation later on. No doubt it will make the granular eyelids, unless you do get this inflammation out. You'd better take him down to Dr. Elise Stone's and let her make two or three adjustments in the back of his neck and shoulders, that would help as much as anything else."

EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before. 3. Many changes have taken place in this developing body since we had same here. 4. As we find, conditions are very good in most respects. There are still those weaknesses across the lower part of the abdomen, from a prenatal hernia; and this, with the general assimilating forces of the body, prevents more body-resistances being builded. 5. Also we find that some local attention is needed for the teeth. These should be attended by a dentist, and there should be more precautions as to the character and use of a dentifrice, as well as to keep better circulation through the gums. There is none better than an equal combination of soda and salt, dampened, as a massage about twice each week. Then any good dentifrice; as Ipana, or any that keeps the cleansing of the enamel itself without irritating same. 6. For the body-building forces, add to the diet more of the reenforced vitamin foods; as cereals, vegetables and fruits that are yellow in color; plenty of fish, liver - these should be taken at least three times each week, either one or the other of these. 7. Have plenty of regular, normal exercise. 8. At least once a week massage over the area of the abdomen with Peanut Oil. R E A D I N G Time of Reading 3: 25 to 4: 00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Virginia. (Physical Suggestion) 1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [420], present in this room. 2. As we find, there are disturbing conditions in the better physical functioning of the body. While these have only reached those proportions where there is occasional distress, at most times there are some reactions that are not so good for the better physical functioning of the body. 3. If these conditions were corrected in the present, there would be a much better reaction; and these may be the more easily corrected in the present than if they are allowed to disturb the functioning organs so as to become much of a constitutional condition that would make greater distresses. 4. These conditions that disturb the body are both specific and reflex; they deal with the eliminations of the body, the glands of the body, and the effects that these disturbances produce in the portions of system in which they exist, and their reflex action upon other functioning organs. 5. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [420] we are speaking of, present in this room: 6. In the BLOOD SUPPLY there are the indications that there are disturbances through the eliminations of the system, and a tendency towards anemia of a nature; that is, the character of the anemia alternates. At times too great an amount of the white blood is apparent, until a form of anemia comes of this nature. At other times the anemia is from a lack of the red blood cells to make for the creating of the leukocyte or the warriors within the system, and their abilities to function in relation to the disturbances that exist; specifically in the lumbar area, or from the functioning of the adrenals and the kidneys, and portions of the elimination through the lower hepatic circulation. 7. Hence we find at times, from the characterizations of poisons created in the blood supply from the anemia, there are forms of what may be termed lumbago, or heaviness in the lower portion of the dorsal and lower lumbar, or upper lumbar and lower dorsal area. 8. We also find these make for disturbances with the manner in which the eliminations are carried through the alimentary canal, or the manner in which the liver functions, producing a turning - as it were - of the digestive fluids in the lower portion of duodenum into the stomach itself, producing an overabundance

of the acid in the digestive system; while the activities taken as the diets of the system turn to create for an alkalinity. The form of acid is just too much of the hydrochloric and not enough lactic acids in the lower portion of the digestive system. 9. As to the activities of the NERVE FORCES of the body, these are rather of the reflex nature; for at times the body is able to control the self in the activities of almost every nature pertaining to the mental forces or reactions of the system; at others, as we find, the body becomes easily irritated, and at such times becomes - as it were - rather forgetful of those things that disturb the body, for more irritation rather than the nervous forces of the system itself. 10. These are effects of poisons from the system to the nerve forces, or nerve plexus and ganglia along the lower lumbar and through the central dorsal nerve forces of the system, or ganglia of the system. 11. As to the ORGANS THEMSELVES: 12. Brain forces are very good, as are the discernments and those activities to the sensory organisms show the effect of poisons in the muco-membranes and in the antrums of the body itself, or facial portions, from conditions in the gums and head, and the upper portion of the body. This is rather a specific condition and almost separates itself, except at times when forming coagulated forces that are not carried in the circulation properly it makes an upsetting to the digestive system by the manner in which the reflexes are carried to these portions of the body; or to the liver itself, and thrown back through this regurgitation into the activities, causing this acidity in the system. 13. These make for tendencies of poor digestion, and the disturbances that have been had in the digestive organism. 14. The organs of the sensory system are affected at times, as to the eyes, to the taste, to the hearing, in reflex manners; not at all times, for at times the eyesight is clearer than at others, even with the vision impaired from usage or the general debilitations that come through this portion of the body at times, and the activities that make for the general deteriorations in the system at the age; and the taste is not always the same. 15. These, as we find, are reflexes, and are the production of those conditions that come from the disturbance in the lymph circulation of the body. 16. The heart's action is disturbed, as from the kidneys and the reflexes to the upper portion of the circulation in the lymph; but this is functional, not organic. 17. As to the activities to the organs of digestion, as the spleen, the pancreas, the liver, the kidneys, as indicated, these are rather disturbed by the general condition that has existed, and that has grown from the accumulation of poisons in body and from the disturbed circulation, and the lack of the proper functioning in the glands; especially as related to the lower portion of the hepatic circulation, or to the adrenal glands, affecting the body - as indicated; rather than to the mental or to the organs themselves. Hence, rather than of a specific nature, it is functional rather in its reflex action to the body. Hence the necessities, as it were, of making the corrections in the system before these become constitutional, or before the system attempts to adjust itself so as to localize the disorders into functional or organic as well as functional disturbances.

18. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions as we find them in the present, we find - from that condition we have given - the disturbances are of varied natures in their reaction, so that it becomes necessary that there be created a certain condition or reaction in the functioning of the organs as related to elimination; and then there may be added such properties as to make those reactions in the system to create the necessary element in the assimilated forces of the body itself, to create resuscitating reactions in the body. Is that followed? 19. So, we would first begin with taking Eno Salt. Beginning on Monday, for five days, each morning before breakfast take a level teaspoonful of Eno Salt, in half to three-quarters of a glass of water. Stir it in the water and drink while it is still effervescing. 20. At the end of the fifth day rest two days. 21. Then begin with Lactated Pepsin, fifteen minims in half a glass of water, with half a teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth stirred in same. This should be taken preferably in the evening, or just after the evening meal (as this is the heavier meal, and should be). Take this for five days. 22. Then, from the reactions that will have been received, we would begin with small quantities of Atomidine; taken two to three drops (not more than this) before each meal is taken, for five days. 23. Also in the meantime we would have those corrections in the gums and teeth. 24. And at the same time the Atomidine is begun, we would begin with the electrically driven vibrator across the lumbar and sacral area, particularly; and particularly across the diaphragm area, stirring the liver, the pancreas and the spleen to activity, as well as stimulating the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th dorsal plexus ganglia to reaction. At the same time we would stimulate the ganglia about the brachial plexus, extending to the head and neck and, especially, over the thyroid and at the base of the brain. 25. The diet throughout this period should be kept rather tending toward the alkalins for the body, and with those foods that are both nerve and blood building. Plenty of green vegetables, as well as the meats or fats that will make for an activity with the properties given, see? Not too much in quantity, but well-balanced in those things that make for blood and nerve building. 26. Ready for questions. 27. (Q) What is the cause of the cough, and what should be done for same? (A) As indicated from the vibrations or reflexes in the circulation to the sympathetic system, there is produced a tickling sensation in the bronchi, or secondary cardiac plexus area. When the system has been changed or relieved from the poisons, and the vibrations are set up, this will disappear. These are reflex conditions, not from lungs, not from even the bronchi, but a reflex from the tickling or blood sensation through the sympathetic reactions in this portion of the system. For the condition, when this becomes irritating - from cold or congestion, a compound prepared in this manner would be most effective; for it is as good a cough expectorant or cough medicine as may be found:

To 1 gallon of distilled water, add 4 ounces of Horehound (dry). Reduce by simmering, so that when it is strained there will be 1 pint, see? To this we would add:

Compound Simple Syrup................2 ounces, Glycerine...........................10 minims, Honey (strained from honeycomb)....1/2 ounce.

Cut Balsam of Tolu 1 dram in 2 ounces of pure grain alcohol and add to solution. Shake well together when the dose is taken, which would be half to a teaspoonful only occasionally, or when necessity requires. This would cure anyone's cough! 28. (Q) Any information about the rupture? (A) With that given there will be the corrections for the general physical health, which aids more in bringing to the tendons of the abdomen area, and through the lumbar and sacral area, that which will relieve the distress, see? 29. (Q) The sore place on left knee? (A) Cleanse the blood supply, and we will correct this condition. 30. (Q) Does this cause the stiffness also in knee? (A) Also from the poisons, that prevent proper coagulation in blood supply. For, as indicated by that given regarding the characterizations of the blood as related to the activities of the corpuscles - both white and red, as well as leucocytes, these so change that at times all these conditions are better, and then again with a little strain or apparently without anything - they grow worse again. Correct the whole condition, will be much better than trying to heal there and not let the system eliminate as it should normally. 31. (Q) Do the glasses need changing? (A) After we have taken these treatments (the whole course, see) for the second time, then it would be very well to have glasses changed, and the eyes will be found to be somewhat better. 32. (Q) What should be done for callous places on feet? (A) From the walking and from the irritation. With the correction of the general conditions, these will be better. But for the specific, as we find, use that compound called Dog-On-Foot; massaging it thoroughly in each evening. 33. (Q) To what colors does the body vibrate? (A) Mode to blues, and some shades of red. Stripes are very good for the body, or to the body as for others; hence responds to same. 34. (Q) Any other advice for the body at this time? (A) As we find, if these are carried along in the way and manner as to make for the changes necessary, as we have indicated, we will find a body with a much better material and mental outlook; for the spiritual reactions only need those that may parallel with that held as the ideal, being active in the material attributes of the body. R E A D I N G Time of Reading 10: 45 to 11: 15 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion) 1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [644]. 2. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions to the better physical functioning of the body. These, as we find, have to do with the eliminations and the effects that have been produced in the body by same. 3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [644] we are speaking of, present in this room: 4. First, in the BLOOD SUPPLY we find there have been for some time obstructions in the better equalization of the blood supply, produced by impingements in the cerebrospinal system. This has caused or produced a disturbance in the metabolism, or the blood circulation has been - even by the count of pulsation - two to three beats faster in the upper portion than the lower portion of the body. 5. Then, through this slow impulse that has been created, there came impactions in the caecum and the transverse and ascending colon; and we have had from this, minor disturbance at first, the acute conditions arising in the activity of the liver ducts, this again making a slower circulation with poor elimination through the alimentary canal. Also the pressure there has produced at periods the attempt of the kidneys to relieve the inflammation and pressure through an excess activity through the kidneys and bladder. 6. The greater pressure in the present, then, is not from the first cause in the 8th and 9th dorsal area, but from the sympathetic condition produced in the colon and in the caecum itself; the lower portion of the jejunum being involved, and a cold area may be found in a hand's breadth from the caecum proper - from the slowed circulation through that portion of the system. 7. In the NERVOUS SYSTEMS there has become rather a pressure in the ganglia, and the sympathetic system responding to same from the ganglia in the 8th and 9th dorsal area causes an activity in the MENTAL processes of the system to make for an aggravation to the general system; so that what is taken as diet or for the relief of the distresses in the system makes for a fullness in the pit of the stomach and slows up the digestion, and with an already congested area in the ducts of the liver makes for the tendency of the stomach to appear or feel full to overflowing.

8. In the ORGANS of the body themselves, as we find, there is little or no organic condition of the nature that might be said to be even aggravating; though the activity of the organs of the circulation - as the heart, the liver, the spleen - all are involved, but only sympathetically - as are REFLEXLY the organs of the hepatic circulation, or the kidneys and the liver become involved in the condition. 9. Then, in meeting the needs of these conditions, as we find, these may be had from more than one approach to correction; for applications to a disorder in the physical forces of the body that is produced from first impingements may be made through these directions or through relieving the conditions and thus producing in the system a relaxation that will allow the drainages and drosses of the system to be eliminated through their regular channels. This, of course, would be the slower process; or there may be made specific applications to the conditions that have been produced by the disorders and THEN the corrections made so as to maintain an equilibrium throughout the system. 10. First we would begin by taking internally small quantities of Olive Oil as a lubricant and as a food for the gastric juices of the intestinal system; half or quarter teaspoonful every two hours for three days. 11. Then begin with the applications of the Castor Oil packs over the caecum and the liver area, PRINCIPALLY over the caecum and the gall duct area; the heavy Castor Oil packs, applied three to four hours each day for three to four days. This will tend to reduce the inflammation and make for the system's producing within self sufficient activities to RELIEVE the distresses. 12. Then we would begin taking small doses of the Simmons Liver Regulator, that will increase the flow of the lymph that has been hindered by these pressures in the 8th and 9th dorsal area, and ALLOW the eliminations without producing irritation to the caecum or the ducts and glands that aid in gathering from the cavities in system the poisons that are allowed to escape through the thinning or the activity of the exterior portions of the system. Hence in operative forces for the appendicial area there is NEVER afterward the strength that is maintained by a body before such operative forces. The Regulator is the same compound of the Ragweed, you see, that will produce the eliminations. In the liquid, it would be taken a teaspoonful about three or four times a day, until there is the FULL elimination from the alimentary canal; not only just as the activity of the liver, but towards the last days of same - after taking for two or three days - it would be well to use high enemas to cleanse the colon. 13. Then we would have three to four to six adjustments osteopathically in the dorsal, coordinating the cervical areas, that will relieve many of those minor pressures also; as in face, head and throat, that have at various periods given distress to this body. 14. Take these in this way and manner, being mindful of the diet throughout the period - that there are taken rather the semi-liquids and foods of the alkalin reacting nature; and we should have little or no trouble with this condition. With following all of these, with the final osteopathic corrections, the body should feel quite different. 15. (Q) Should the Olive Oil be resumed at any time?

(A) Be well for everybody to take olive oil! Be well to be resumed that there be no reactions later; taken occasionally, that is consistently - two or three days, and then leave it off. Don't take it one day with only one dose and then be three or four days before taking another dose! Take it every two or three hours, the small quantities, for two or three days, then leave it off altogether for two or three days! 16. (Q) Have I any gallstones? (A) These are as secretions, and not as stones; they are only in the form of gravel as yet. These produce irritation; that is, SYMPATHETICALLY a disorder. These will be relieved by the application of these properties as given. 17. (Q) Is there any indication of a hernia? (A) The thinning of the walls of the folds of the intestinal cavity has been produced by the slowed circulation through the lower portion of the torso, or BELOW the diaphragm; but with the applications, the corrections, relieving the pressure, the NORMAL body's activity will be to strengthen all folds of the walls of the cavity. 18. (Q) Is the pain I am now suffering caused from appendicitis? (A) Caused rather from impactions; for as appendicitis indicates, it is inflammation of the vermiform appendix, and in this body it is only SYMPATHETICALLY irritated at present. So, with the removal of the pressures this condition will be removed and normalcy will occur. For the position of the appendix and the conditions in the right portion of the side are as the LACK of the lymph circulation and blood supply through the area, rather than from ACUTE inflammation; and, as we find, there is no body in the appendix to produce irritation. 19. (Q) What causes awful pain about heart and thru shoulder and left side? (A) This is from the sympathetic condition that has been indicated in the transverse colon, and the variation in the pulsation in the upper cycle of the circulation OVERFLOWS the heart in its activity. This aided by the pressure in the colon that makes for the tautening of the muscular forces about the diaphragm, and the area in the left side produces this heaviness. Shortness even of breath at times. 20. (Q) Should I have my top teeth taken out? (A) As we find, the tendencies for the poisons and accumulations in the system - even through head and through the throat, as indicated - would be materially aided by the producing of NORMAL eliminations through the system. If they would be treated locally, AFTER the suggested applications have been made, we would find that FEW of these would necessitate the removal of same; and he may be very sure that the natural are much better than those that may replace them. While they should not be kept as a detriment to the body, if the circulations are made in such a manner that the flow to the head and the face and the gums and the soft tissues of the face is near normal, there will not be the accumulations, nor will there be the distresses in the teeth. 21. (Q) What are the influences brought to bear that seem to cause appendicitis to come in epidemics?

(A) These are both mental attitudes of individuals and the astrological influences, combined with the very nature of the elements that people take under certain seasons; or the lack of vitamins in that which grows in the products used as food. Hence are the combination of all of these. Some families, some groups, being more sympathetic than others are more easily affected by the conditions, both from the mental attitudes and the diets in that particular family or vicinity; for - as it will be seen in such epidemics - the diets of those individuals in certain territories or surroundings are lacking in the necessary vitamins; for with the making of many things used in the seasoning of foods, or in the applications for those things where synthetic conditions have brought about the making of things, they leave OUT the vitamins that NATURE has prepared - and does prepare - in all food values. 22. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions I shall ask regarding same; with special reference to stone in right ureter and method of treatment for eliminating it. 2. EC: Yes, we have the body her, [843]; this we have had before. 3. As we find, in some respects there is a great deal of improvement - while in others there is growing to be more anxiety and a greater disturbance. 4. So, unless there is kept a normal equilibrium in the assimilating system, we may produce - through the nervous reaction - greater disturbances. 5. As for those conditions that exist regarding stone, we find that this has diminished greatly in the size. 6. Yet there have not been the full applications that have been indicated, either of the Mullein Stupes or of the Turpentine Stupes. While these have caused some irritation and an upsetting, it was more of a nerve condition than of other natures. And we find that if these were used occasionally it would be well. If they upset, then leave them off. But to use them occasionally will assist the system in so diminishing the accumulation as to cause same to break up. 7. As for those disturbances which we find in the digestive system, there must be greater precautions taken in the diet. Keep those things that are strengthening and easily assimilated - they are the better. We have outlined a diet for the body, with those disturbances that once arose in the digestive forces of the body. This adhered to, in a manner that is in keeping with the general conditions, would be most advisable in the present. We would include all of those foods that are easily assimilated, as indicated. 8. Also we would use the Appliance that has been once indicated for the body through this channel, as an equalizer of the energies and the activity of the nerve system as related to impulses in the circulatory forces. This would materially improve the conditions for the body. 9. Also a little activity by the body in the open is advisable, rather than being too dormant. For while there must not be such an activity as to upset the whole system, as to produce or cause a strain or such activities as to produce acute

conditions, we find that such activities as to give some outlet for the mental as well as the physical forces would be the more advisable. 10. Ready for questions. 11. (Q) Give chemical analysis of stone in my right ureter. (A) This as we find is a concentration of sedimentary forces as combined with the acids from kidneys and secretions of such natures; or the refuse forces accumulated by the activity from the lack of distributing forces in the system. 12. (Q) How far above the bladder is the stone now? (A) About an inch to an inch and a quarter. 13. (Q) Is the stone "in a pocket" and is it causing irritation, and infection? (A) It is naturally pocketed, as might be called, by the lymph flow of the system, but not in a pocket in such a manner that the activities of the properties indicated would not make for activity upon same. It is NOT producing irritation, and does not - unless there are sharp edges, or the attempt of the system to expel same. 14. (Q) Am I getting sufficient drainage through my right ureter? (A) Sufficient drainage in the present, and more may be obtained with the use of the vibratory forces indicated for equalizing the activity of the impulses of the system, as well as for the assistance that this would give to the general digestive forces of the body. 15. (Q) What is present condition of kidneys? bladder and right ureter? (A) The right ureter, as indicated, is choked by those natural activities from the position of the stone - but draining. As we find, the bladder - naturally there are some inflammatory forces from congestion, as would be indicated from the presence of stone. Kidneys - very much better than they have been heretofore. 16. (Q) Do I have aluminum or arsenate of lead poisoning? (A) Neither of these; though the effect of aluminum - or effect upon the body by foods being cooked in same - adds to rather than detracts from the activities in the system. Hence, as we have indicated for many who are affected by nervous digestion or an overactivity of the nerve forces during the state of digestion taking place, the body should be warned about using or having foods cooked in aluminum. For this naturally produces a hardship upon the activities of the kidneys as related to the lower hepatic circulation, or the uric acid that is a part of the activity of the kidneys in eliminating same from the system. 17. (Q) What is present condition of my stomach? (A) This, as just indicated, is affected a great deal by the general anxiety; but it is more of a reflex condition. Thus, with the use of the influences indicated that would create an equal balance in the activities of same, this would be much improved. 18. (Q) Please give cause and treatment for pain in my abdomen, one inch to right of my navel. (A) The choking, as it were, of the emptying of the duodenum itself. This is caused from a nervous contraction. And with the use of the diets as indicated, with a little activity and the equalizer, this should disappear.

19. (Q) What is present condition of my colon and intestines? (A) Inflammatory forces - that is, to some extent. The use of colonic irrigations at times would be advisable. 20. (Q) Please give condition and treatment of my right inguinal hernia. (A) This as we find naturally from the general strain and the nerve forces upon the whole of the system has caused some uneasiness. If there had been the corrections, or if there WOULD be a correction in the lumbar sacral, and the 11th and 12th dorsal - osteopathically made - we would find a great deal of help for the whole of the eliminating system, as well as the casement through which the hernia appears. 21. (Q) Am I getting any infection from my two upper right molars, and which one or both should be extracted? (A) None that would cause a disturbance unless the mind is allowed to dwell upon same. If these cause disturbance or make for anxiety, have them attended to locally. These are only a portion of the nervous reactions, and not of a natural condition through a pathological reaction. 22. (Q) Will I be benefitted or harmed by using an Electronic Bio-Normalize from Dr. S. R. Love, St. Petersburg, Fla.? [S. R. Love, D.O.] (A) As we find, and as indicated, if there are the low electrical forces from the vibrations of the Appliance which we once indicated, [Radio-Active Appliance - see 843-6, Par. 18-A] this would be MORE beneficial than the nature of the equalizer as used by that character of machine. One is that which will ASSOCIATE self with the vibratory forces of the body, and the other creates one of itself. 23. (Q) Will a substance known as "Mineral Food" and sold by W. L. Jameson, 317 Flat Iron Bldg., Denver, Col., be of value for my condition? (A) Not necessarily. The food values from fresh vegetables that are prepared are better than all the combinations of those that are allowed to set or rest. While it is necessary for the vitamin activities through the system, these may be obtained by a better balance being kept in the vital forces as may be obtained from fresh vegetables, fruits and nuts than from concentrated forces such as those. Do these things as indicated, as we find, and we will make for better conditions for this body of [843]. 24. We are through with this Reading. R E A D I N G Time of Reading 11: 00 to 11: 20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., West Va. (Physical Suggestion) 1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1170]. 2. Now, as we find, while there are disturbing conditions, and these need care and attention, rather would there be given warnings; that UNLESS these are adhered to there may be expected greater calamities physically upon the body! For these are conditions that are very subtle, and will produce conditions that will be hard to be rid of. Hence time and precaution, patience and persistence

should be on the part of the body, lest the opportunities and the days be cut short in this experience. 3. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [1170] we are speaking of: 4. First, the blood supply and the circulation throughout indicates there is not only a malarial condition in same but that the organs, the liver, the kidneys, and the heart, are becoming slowly but surely affected by the toxic forces that arise from poor eliminations, from the tendency for plethora condition in the kidneys, in the liver, even in the heart's activity, from the continued STRAIN upon the system in the attempt to keep a normal balance. 5. There tends to be, from the malarial effect, a strep through the blood stream. There are those conditions in the colon where there are pressures. Those activities from the effect of the leukocytes forming encasements about portions of tissue that are affected are not being eliminated. Hence the easy tendency for cold, the after effects of flu, the effect upon the lungs, the effect upon the mucous membranes of the throat and head. The inability for the proper eliminations through the kidneys; the heaviness that appears across there; all are the effects of these conditions. 6. And they produce in most portions of the body a tendency and a distressed condition that makes for the great disturbing influences or forces. 7. In meeting, then, the needs of these conditions; to be sure, as we find, there would be more than one manner or one means to eliminate thee disturbances. But all conditions considered - the surroundings, the desires, the aspirations, the obligations, the dependencies of others upon the activities of the body - we find that the better manner would be such as to enable the body to carry on in its regular duties, under the present environment. 8. How may these conditions, then, be eliminated? 9. To be sure, there can be a change of environment, yet it would work hardships in many ways and manners. 10. Hence WE would begin with these: 11. First we would have, we would obtain, the high enemas. Not just an enema, but obtain a colonic tube. And have three; one just as soon as this may be obtained, skip a day and have another, skip three days and have another. Use the colon tube as high as it may be inserted by the body itself, because this can be done by self - if there are the precautions taken by the body in doing so. Use a saline and soda solution in same. That is, in the Fountain Syringe (with the colon tube attached), put - dissolving thoroughly in the water, before it is put into the syringe, you see - a HEAPING teaspoonful of salt (table salt) and a level teaspoonful of baking soda. After this cleansing solution is used, then put another quart of water in the syringe and add a tablespoonful of Glyco-Thymoline AS an intestinal antiseptic. The water should always be tepid; not too hot, and above all not too cold! This would be the procedure for each such colonic cleansing. Use one in the beginning, one a day after, one three days after that one, see? Then they may be put farther apart. 12. Begin immediately with the taking of Grove's Tasteless Chill Tonic, a teaspoonful three or four times a day.

13. Upon retiring at night, each day for at least a week, even though it begins with the activities through the eliminations, through the alimentary canal, and becomes somewhat of a strained condition, or at least for five days, take two tablets of Grove's Bromo-Quinine, see? (See, much of this they have about them.) 14. These are the medicinal properties. 15. Each third day for a month take a hot sweat or a fume cabinet bath, PREFERABLY with the Oil of Wintergreen as the fume, you see; followed by a thorough rubdown, which the body may do itself. Each time when this is taken, go to bed immediately afterward; do not stir in the open. 16. We must eliminate internally and externally if we would rid the body of the poisons, of the conditions that are existent and being builded in the organs of the body. 17. In the diet be mindful that these are NOT eaten: 18. No fried meats or fried foods of ANY kind. No large quantities of pastries and starches, or sweets and starches taken at the same meal. Use more of the vegetables. No meats that are rare. Preferably only use fowl, fish or lamb. One meal a day should consist of raw fresh vegetables. 19. Do this and, as we find, in six weeks the body should be near to normal. 20. Be persistent. Do not do these one day and leave then off, or do them halfheartedly or merely as a routine. But being patient, being persistent, we will ELIMINATE these disturbances. 21. Ready for questions. 22. (Q) What is the condition in the blood pressure? (A) As indicated, it's gradually changing to that which is very detrimental. 23. (Q) What causes distended or swollen appearance of place in extreme lower part of abdomen? (A) Where there is a bellowsing, or a bellowsing of the colon itself - and the tendency, through the depleted condition, for the body to have the separation of the area that HOLDS the intestines themselves. And will become hernia unless there are those precautions and those things taken as indicated to enable the SYSTEM to have more and more of that necessary to create proper coagulation and to keep the folds of the peritoneum in the proper order. 24. (Q) Is soreness in right side from coughing or is it a symptom of pleurisy? (A) Rather an extenuation of the poisons' effect upon the system generally. And it is more the dilation of the LIVER itself than either pleurisy or pulmonary disturbance. Do the things as indicated. Plenty of citrus fruit juices are the more preferable for the body at most times. When lemonade is taken do not have it too sweet. Oranges, grapefruit and lemons - these are GOOD for the body, taken at all times during the day; and ESPECIALLY for the morning meals. Do not feel that because eliminations are increased and there's a lack of the ability to eat, this - though depleting the system - is not necessary; for the depleting will be rather from the system's readjusting itself from the poisons. Do those things given, and we will find the better results. We are through for the present.

It seems the condition was much more serious than I had thought, though I could not understand why anything that he took seemed to reach the trouble. Well, I have gotten all the things called for and ordered the rest, so we will soon be following to the letter, think we will have another check up in about 6 weeks. We now think we will probably move from this place, and I am very forcibly reminded that "a rolling stone gathers no moss". But Mr. [1170] has an offer that we are anxious to accept, if, if - if - There's always so many ifs to a proposition. However we will know in the next week or so and we are hoping for the better of the change. I think it will be better for Mr. [1170]'s health, for he had to leave the tidewater region on account of the malarial condition that he was in, so this low altitude, and so near the river may be a part of his trouble now. I had to order the bath, as I did not have time to go to Charleston hope it will be here in a few days. Thanks for sending the circulars, I would had no idea where to order the bath, other than there. After a heavy frost on the mountain yesterday it is beginning to warm up now, and I do hope every one will feel better, we have had such a severe epidemic of colds, flu and pneumonia. You are making big plans for the congress I guess, wish I could attend, but its out of the question this year. R3. 8/23/36 Wife's letter: "Do you see that new address?...so many things have taken place... [1170], has had the regular treatments, he is much better. As you know we could not give the sweat baths before, so about the time we were moving he began to have a great deal of distress in his right groin, upon examination, doctor said he had hernia and to be fitted with a truss at once, so this we did, for it you remember the reading gave the information that unless the precautions were taken, hernia would result or something to that effect. So I thought as we has been unable to take all treatments that of course that is what had taken place, but just as soon as we could we went over a course of entire treatments, and he has hung the truss up, cough and nasal irritation has ceased and he is seemingly in the pink of condition. HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them: 2. EC: Yes, we have had this body here before. 3. As we find, there have been those tendencies for too much of fats taken by the body; and this, as combined with the poor eliminations, has caused an overflow - or a regurgitation - between the circulation of the heart and the liver, or a form of thrombosis, or the thrombose became dilated. 4. To be sure, this might be called a form of heart disturbance; for, unless precautions are taken, or those activities of the nature to change these conditions through the system, it might become very serious, - flooding the heart, dilating same, and - to be sure - producing disintegration. 5. As we find, rest is the best in the present. But we WOULD take those properties that are being administered to keep the better circulation. 6. Also we would begin immediately with the colon irrigations to reduce the engorgements there. We would give these at least every ten days, or closer, until there is no indication - from the refuse - of any phlegm or mucous in same, or until the colon is entirely clear. Of course, in the beginning these should not be given so much as to overcrowd or tire the body, but there should be at least five to six of these, - not merely enemas, but high irrigations. attempt to drain the whole of the colon at once, but by the second or third time these are given, it should be entirely relieved. 7. Between these times of the irrigations, have a few - two or three - of the manipulations, osteopathically administered, to DISTRIBUTE the circulation below the waistline much better. These would be most beneficial. 8. Be mindful not to overexert the body, as in too heavy lifting, or too great an exercise of any kind that is overfatiguing; and, most of all, beware of overeating. 9. Keep away from all fried foods, or from too much of meats. 10. R E A D I N G Time of Reading 11: 15 to 11: 30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion) 1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1455]; this we have had before. 2. As we find, conditions in the main show a great deal of improvements. While there are still the effects of the poisons in some portions of the system, as we find the activities have been set in motion, through the corrections made in the cerebrospinal system, such that these should continue to make for the corrections to bring near to normalcy for the body - if the eliminations are kept a little in excess, not only through the alimentary canal but through the respiratory and perspiratory system also. 3. The conditions that have been indicated in the cerebrospinal system, as we find, have been corrected. Hence these treatments would not be necessary save occasionally, when there is the feeling of the necessity for stimulating drainages for the body; or when because of accumulations in some portions of the system there is again the heaviness or feeling of stiffness or soreness; or when there are the inclinations produced from congestion in any nature. 4. However, we would make these changes for the body: 5. First, we would use an equal combination of plain table salt (preferably with the iodine, or the iodized salt) and baking soda as a gentle massage for the gums. This as we find will stimulate the circulation and make for a healing that is and will be effective for the body. 6. For the cleansing or the whitening of the teeth, we would use Lyon's Tooth Powder - which is preferable; this put on with a brush but not in such a manner as to irritate the gums. Hence it would be preferable that the teeth be cleansed once or twice a day, and then the finger massage of salt and soda to follow same - so that where any irritation had been produced by the brush, the massage would aid in correcting same. For this particular body we would use that shape or form of brush as the Dr. West; which is preferable to the cup in the other direction - or to those more of the prophylactic nature. 7. To make for the stimulations for the perspiratory and respiratory system, we would have an occasional Sweat - which as we find would be most effective. This may be accomplished either by the use of a Fume Bath Cabinet with a thorough salt and alcohol rub following same, or by being rolled in very hot or warm blankets for twenty to thirty minutes.

8. If the Fume Bath is used (and this is preferable), for this body we would find the combination of Camphor AND Oil of Wintergreen in the water for the fumes settling over the body would be MOST beneficial. Such a Fume Bath would be taken at least once a week; taken, to be sure, of an evening when the body would not be out in cold weather or dampness following same. 9. But these will keep down poisons and make for the better conditions for this body, [1455]. 10. And to keep up the eliminations through the alimentary canal, precautions must be made or taken as to the diet. 11. Do not eat too great quantities of starches, nor too great quantities of sweets. But let fruits and vegetables form the greater part of the diet. Not that there are to be no meats or proteins of any nature, but proteins taken in the form of nuts and nut breads or the like are better than too much of meat. And beware especially of quantities of fats. 12. Ready for questions. 13. (Q) Why is it that my mouth is still sore at times? (A) As this has been the END of the source of infections, this naturally arises so long as there are poisons accumulating in the system - as we have indicated. Thus the use of those measures as indicated, both as to local applications and as to keeping the excess of eliminations in the system. 14. (Q) Is the Appliance [Radio-Active] that I am using in perfect condition? (A) So long as it carries the vibrations to the body, this we find is effective. These vibrations are still necessary, but carry in the weakened solution as yet. 15. (Q) Is the percentage of nitrate of silver that I have been using in the solution correct? (A) This is very good, and - as has been indicated - it is effecting the healing forces in the body; but we need these other activities to stimulate the effect of same. Keep the plates, the connections, VERY clean. Be sure the one plate is circulated about the body as has been indicated [See 1455-2, Par. R1]. 16. (Q) When should I begin to use the 10% as first directed? (A) When sufficient of the poisons have been ridded from the system so as not to cause too quick a reaction in the solution itself upon the metal parts. This, as we find, should be in some three to six weeks yet. 17. (Q) Am I ruptured? If so, what should I do to get relief? (A) The massage, the sweats should make for the activity in the whole of the system to overcome this inclination. With a heavy LIFTING, with any great STRAIN, this might become a true rupture, but it is rather the separation of the folds of the abdominal area than true rupture at present. 18. (Q) When and under what condition did I get the poison from fumes that was mentioned in the first Reading? (A) In the fumigation of some conditions that happened some three to six years ago. 19. (Q) Have I neglected my part in carrying out the Reading? Please advise. (A) These are very good, and conditions - as indicated - are very satisfactory. Be persistent and consistent.

And keep the mental attitude proper. This, as we find, is as much a portion of the whole conditions of the body. For it is very true that as one thinketh in the heart, so is the reaction. For the body is both mental AND spiritual, physical and spiritual; and these must be kept constructive, not only as a mind or mental force living but living FOR something. Be not only good but good FOR something - constructive! These attitudes will be most helpful for the body; and following the conditions just as the applications, as it will be for the cleansing of the teeth, as it would be for the massage of the gums, as it will be for the necessity of the gargling of the throat with an alkalin antiseptic. These are for a purpose, not merely to be gotten through with but to see them doing good! As would be in the rubs, and the fume baths. These must be PURPOSEFUL, and not just a routine! 20. We are through with this Reading. [12/11/37 GD's note: A satisfactory Fume Bath may be had by using a huge rubberoid or oilcloth gown fastened around the neck and hanging loosely to the floor, while the body sits on a stool - with only the outside of the gown. In a pint of water boiling on an electric plate or Sterno heat, or the like, under the stool, put half a teaspoonful of the Spirits of Camphor and half a teaspoonful of the Oil of Wintergreen. Sit with these fumes settling over the body for five, ten to fifteen minutes, or until the water has boiled out. R E A D I N G Time of Reading 3: 50 to 4: 05 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion) 1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1653]. 2. Now as we find, there are disturbing conditions that prevent the normal reaction. These as we find have been of long standing, and were minor or insignificant appearing in their beginnings. 3. However, with the disturbances that have arisen by irritation and improper reactions through the system, these have gradually brought - and without their correction will continue to bring about disturbances that may within themselves appear to be causes, when they are in reality or in nature the effects from the causes - as we shall indicate. 4. We find that these have to do with coordinations between the nerves of impulse, or the sympathetic AND the cerebrospinal systems. 5. These in their inception as we find began with the early teen age, when there was an injury by attempting some feat, or with a fall. Then WITH the condition of spraining or straining and breaking tissue through a straddle or a split - which caused the strain upon the scrotum, testes and the natures of these - there was caused a strain or drawing upon the activities or the exercising of the genital system. 6. As such activities have drawn or do draw upon the sympathetic system, through portions of the glandular forces as are related to the assimilating force of the body, we have gradually increased the pressures upon the ileum plexus - and a strain upon the glandular forces about the assimilating portions - until we have made a drawing. 7. Hence we have periods of lapses, when there are the effects of incoordination between sympathetic and cerebrospinal systems by the pressure produced in the area about the lacteal ducts in the right portion of the body. 8. The reflexes to the centers or glandular forces and the plexus from the radial activity of the lumbar axis cause the reaction to the cerebrospinal.

9. Following such a condition there is an upsetting of both the digestive and the eliminating systems. 10. These have not reached proportions as yet other than to become momentary, but gradually - with the increase in the pressures (unless these are removed) - will make for greater and greater disturbance in the nervous and muscular forces, and muscular contractions through the system, and bring greater and greater distress. 11. The natural reactions through other portions of the system - through properties that have been given or indicated for nerves, through character of sedatives or bromides - are to make and do make for greater strains. 12. As we find, while this strain may not be ENTIRELY removed or freed by manipulative or corrective forces, if the lesions are removed and then corrections made in the impulses through the cerebrospinal reaction - in a mechanical or osteopathic manner, removing the pressures - we will find then greater and greater relief. 13. The necessity for wearing the truss or the support for the testicle and for the area about same has relieved much of the disturbance, or made it less active in the reaction. 14. In making the corrections, then, as we find: 15. At least once each day, for half to three quarters of an hour, preferably just before retiring, apply heavy Castor Oil Packs - as hot as the body can stand same - to the area from the rib on the right side to the caecum or to the groin. Use at least three thicknesses of flannel, sufficient to cover the area of the entire right side, and from the umbilicus plexus (near the navel) to almost the cerebrospinal system on the back, see? Following same, when the Packs are taken off, massage the area gently - and then cleanse with soda water. 16. After using the heavy Castor Oil Packs as indicated, for thirty minutes to an hour each day for FIVE DAYS, THEN begin with the Osteopathic or manipulative measures - which as we find would be best in the manner in which Dobbins might indicate, see? 17. These would be more specific for the areas from the 9th dorsal to the end of the spine, but coordinating the rest of the cerebrospinal system with same. 18. More of these would be given in or below the area from the 9th dorsal to the end of the spine than that above; though coordinate the upper dorsal and cervical with that as carried forward by the corrections in the lumbar and sacral and the coccyx areas. 19. We will find that it will be necessary then, about once a week after beginning with the manipulations, to use the heavy Castor Oil Packs again. These will as we find make for an alleviation, and then the corrections will keep same in place. 20. First use the Packs for five days, you see, as indicated; then begin with the manipulative forces. Then, after the osteopathic manipulations are begun, we find it would be necessary to use the Packs at least once a week - until there is full reaction from the corrections made in the structural portions and the muscular forces of the lumbar, sacral and coccyx areas.

Then if there is still the stress upon the areas where the tissue is affected from the lower portion of the abdomen or the peritoneum and the testicle in sac, or the scrotum area, then it would be necessary for operative measures. 22. But if the truss is worn, or a support, we will find that an operation would NOT NECESSARILY be needed; though, to be sure, it would be more pleasant - AFTER the areas have healed properly. 23. The general system is very good, considering all the rest of these things. 24. Do these and as we find we would bring the better conditions for this body, [1653]. 25. Ready for questions. 26. (Q) Have I any form of Epilepsy attacks which might cause my condition? (A) As we find, these are the incoordinations from those pressures as we have indicated that arise. St. New York City Dear Mr. Cayce, Your reading and then your letter has arrived, and I am so pleased with the reading I can not find words to express my feelings. I am going to take the liberty of using a little slang to express my point by saying - "You hit the nail directly on the head." I recall something that happened when I was about fourteen years old. I was away at a summer camp in New Hampshire and there, was pushed off a little wooden foot bridge, and fell about six feet hitting my back on a large stone in the bed of a dried up brook. I was carried back to camp and was in bed for over a week with a terrible pain in my back. This pain gradually left and, childlike, I neglected to have anything done. So that was the beginning of my trouble. I phoned Dr. Dobbins yesterday morning and have made an appointment for next Monday at 12: 45. This is the nearest time we could get together for an examination. I feel confident with your wonderful help and with Dr. Dobbins' treatments I will come through in good shape. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1710]; this we have had before. 3. As we find, changes have come about in the general physical forces of the body since last we had same. 4. In the present there are other conditions which have arisen that must be taken into account, if there would be brought about the more perfect coordination in the physical forces of the body. 5. There are weaknesses produced by the strain upon the body, in which it became necessary for the operative measures. Hence there should be precautions as to the effect of the anaesthesia upon the general system, especially lungs and intestines. Also there must be precautions not to overstrain self while the whole physical forces are adjusting themselves to the changes wrought. 6. The effect of the anaesthesia is to produce periods or mornings when there are headaches, a bit of dizziness, an upset at times of the digestive forces. All of these, to be sure, are the natural results - under the conditions. 7. Hence for this body, it is well to take occasionally - a couple of times each day - carbonated water. This does not mean merely soft drinks, but drink carbonated water - half plain and half carbonated water, at the fount. This is well to counteract the effects of general conditions which exist through the lymph in the general blood supply, especially through these periods of hot days or hot weather. 8. Keep in the open as much as practical. 9. Do not strain the body by pushing, pulling, lifting or the like, to any great extent. Not that the body is to give way to the weaknesses, but rather there should be precautions taken for at least another three to four weeks. 10. Then there should be near normal conditions if there will be kept those general precautions.

11. Have sufficient of the adjustments osteopathically, which should be in the nature of GENERAL treatments to relax rather than to stimulate too greatly; with particular reference to those areas from the lumbar axis to the upper dorsal, of course coordinating the vagus center with those corrections made in the lower portion of the spine. 12. Once a week, or once in ten days, or two or three a month should be sufficient; but these should be kept up for at least three or four months. 13. Ready for questions. 14. (Q) Is there need for further correction in the fifth rib area? (A) Only as the coordination of these areas with the rest is necessary. 15. (Q) Please give further corrective diet. (A) As indicated, it is necessary in the present to add plenty of the elements found in raw cabbage, raw carrots, and occasionally salads. Not that the body is to leave off these entirely, to be sure, but these are to be in the diet often - two to three times a week as a part of some meal during the day. The general diet should be for body-building. Be sure that most of the foods carry especially Vitamin B. These are best found in reinforced cereals, as well as in all fruits and vegetables of the yellow variety, as well as in water cress, mustard and the like. 16. (Q) What should be done to relieve the discomfort in small of the back, apparently resulting from spinal injections? (A) This has been indicated, as to the use of the corrective gases that will relieve gas in stomach, as well as to the general character of foods that will work with same through the intestinal tract - if combined with the character of adjustments indicated. 17. (Q) Please give corrective treatment to relieve tendency towards baldness. (A) The better measures for correction in this direction are the use of crude oil with a very mild shampoo of grain alcohol. 18. We are through with this Reading. R E A D I N G Time of Reading 3: 45 to 4: 05 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Okla. 1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them: 2. EC: Yes - mesquite' trees. [See 2068-2, Par. 12-A.] 3. Yes. 4. Now as we find, this general weakness, the indisposition, the recurrent disturbances of the digestive forces as well as trouble with the eliminations, and those activities which occur from the nervous repercussions, and conditions that upset the body physically and mentally, arise from a prenatal reaction, wherein there was a lack of the elements to cause the proper relationships, in those periods that followed soon after the connecting in the umbilical plexus and the lacteal duct, - and the activities this makes with the whole of the nervous system. 5. These as we find may be materially aided, but it will necessitate a series of corrective measures to be taken. 6. As we find, these would be the first applications: 7. Begin with the Castor Oil Packs, but these would be prepared in a little different manner from some of such a nature as we have indicated for other individuals. About three times each week these should be applied, of an evening, - and in this manner: Take a long strip of flannel that would bind AROUND the body AT LEAST THREE TIMES, or more! Massage over the abdomen, from the liver area to the lower portion of the caecum - especially on the right side - with Castor Oil. Then begin with one end of the flannel over this area, and wrap around the body. As it comes over this area again, massage or pour on Castor Oil over this area of the flannel, all it will take. Then wrap again, and on the next round cover the area in the same way and manner. Have the Oil warm; not hot, but warm, see? 8. Then place cloths over the area, and especially such as oilcloth on the top, so as to prevent the saturating of an electric pad which would be placed over the area, to keep this as warm as the body can stand for at least an hour.

9. Then take this off, and sponge off the area with lukewarm soda water, or give the body a bath - but especially over this area. 10. Then rub into the area - over the liver, the caecum, and all along the right side, extending at least to the middle portion of the abdomen - Cocoa Butter. 11. Then rub this off again, - that is, with a dry cloth, but first massage into the area all that the body will absorb. 12. Follow this whole procedure three times each week for at least six weeks, see? six whole weeks of this as the treatment. 13. Afterwards, - then we would begin with the applications of the low electrical vibrations of the Wet Cell Appliance, which would carry into the system one day the vibrations from an Atomidine Solution, and the next day the vibrations of a Gold Solution. 14. When using the Atomidine, - the small copper plate would be attached at the 3rd cervical, while the large nickel plate (through which the vibrations would pass from the Atomidine Solution, commercial strength) would be attached at the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus. 15. On the next day, when using the Gold, - (and have different containers, different connections, but using the same Appliance) the small copper plate would be attached to the 9th dorsal plexus, while the large nickel plate - through which the vibration passes from the Gold Solution (in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold to each ounce of Distilled Water) - would be attached to the liver AND lacteal duct area, or - here - two fingers (three fingers of the mother) from the umbilical plexus, or the navel center, towards the right side, - just a little above the direct area of same, toward the liver a little bit - a quarter to half an inch. 16. Each of these Solutions would be attached for thirty minutes, one used one day, the other the next. 17. After the Appliance has been used in the manner indicated for a week, then begin with osteopathic adjustments. 18. The adjustments or osteopathic treatments would be given with special reference to breaking up lesions in the caecum and gall duct area, and the correction necessary in the lumbar axis and the brachial center. 19. Throughout the period keep rather the liquid and semi-liquid diets. REPORTS OF READING 2068-1 M 8 R1. 1/3/40 Grandmother [2035]'s letter: "Rec'd the copy of [2068]'s reading, and am sure my daughter will give you particulars about his case. We have always understood that the child has a hernia - it is very low down in the groin - operation has been thought inevitable, and nothing but the child's utter terror even at the mention of it has kept the parents so far from having it done - he is a very active child and outside of a bad swelling of the right testicle and some elimination trouble it seems not to bother him." R2. 1/9/40 History of case submitted by mother: Birth date - October 6, 1931. This birth was a high forceps delivery after fourteen hours of labor. The doctor termed it a "Right occipital presentation." Several things developed after the beginning of the labor - the baby's head was not malleable and became wedged when half turned for delivery; the mother did not dilate and the birth was dry. As a result, the baby suffered head injuries. A blood transfusion from the father was given a few hours after birth. About 24 hours later convulsions started, and continued for about 36 hours. Three spinal punctures were taken during this time, and the baby was treated for "edema of the cranial lining." After the convulsions were stopped, the baby developed normally and no complications followed. All of this is given in detail as it may have some bearing on the present conditions. The pediatrician who was called in by the delivering physician warned the parents that such a nervous shock might always leave its mark on the child, and advised careful handling. The boy is a "nervous" type, in that he is sensitive and "high-strung". We have tried to handle him intelligently and can always reason problems out with him. He has a fear of doctors and nurses, which amounts almost to a phobia, probably resulting from later illnesses. But to get back to the early development. The baby was fat and apparently perfectly healthy, but always inclined to constipation. Milk of Magnesia was given him daily in his bottle feeding for about ten months, and since that time Petrolagar and magnesia tablets have been used, the tablets only within the past

eight months. The elimination has never been quite normal, and this is one of the problems that was mentioned in the physical reading by Mr. Cayce. When the baby was about a year old a hernia appeared - or so it was called for some time. A right inguinal hernia. The attending physician called it this, but said that the opening was large and there was no immediate danger of strangulation. The hernia was watched and examined at intervals. At one examination the physician said he did not believe that it was a hernia, as he could see no intestine in the swollen scrotum. The pediatrician above mentioned termed it a "hydrocele". None of the doctors ever advised immediate operation, and the child has been nearly terrified at the mention of operation, and so the repair has been postponed from time to time. We have had four trusses fitted to the child, none of which have ever held the hernia in place. He does not seem to have much discomfort from the swelling, which is usually about the size of a lemon. When he lies down the swelling can be gently pressed so that it is entirely gone; and at night it recedes of its own accord. Mr. Cayce tells us that the trouble is in this spot, but does not call the trouble a hernia. Whatever the name, he has located the trouble, and at this great physical distance. The child has had an ear abscess, a streptococcic throat, a tonsillectomy, and measles and chicken-pox. These painful illnesses are no doubt largely responsible for his fear of doctors. He will welcome any treatment that does not mean a doctor or an operation. After the measles he had a cold which settled in the neck glands on the right side, and there was pain and swelling for six weeks. Is this the type of information you need? R3. 4/6/40 Father's letter: I wish to report the manner of treatment I have given our son, [2068], and ask a few questions. I gave the castor-oil packs and massages for the thirty-day period, and about a week before the time was up, we sent in an order for the wet cell appliance. The company was slow in sending this appliance as they had to build the same, so they informed us, consequently, I continued the pack and massage treatment until the appliance came. When it arrived, I went ahead and mixed up the formula and began the atomidine solution treatment, and I had to keep giving this treatment steadily, due to the fact the appliance company had sent only one solution container. I sent them an air mail letter asking that they forward the other immediately, but it did not get here until yesterday. Consequently, I am now alternating the treatments and will start with the osteopathic treatments next Saturday, April 13. Due to the fact this schedule was not carried out according to the instructions, I felt like it was best not to start the osteopathic work until we were able to give the alternate treatments. I am wondering now if it will be necessary to order another group of ingredients for the appliance, or whether or not we could use the same for thirty days from date? The mechanism of this appliance is all new to me, and I have been wondering whether or not it has been working properly, as we cannot feel any vibration of

any kind coming from the anodes, nor can I get any sort of electrical disturbance if I touch the two together. I notice in the instructions not to do this, but I tried it to see whether or not the appliance was performing as it should and since I got no disturbance, I have been apprehensive as to whether or not any would be discernable. I mixed up the ingredients and connected the appliance as instructed and went ahead with the treatments thinking perhaps everything was all right anyway. I would like to have an opinion from you as to whether or not it might not be working after the explanation I have given above. I note in your letter you ask for the name and address of the doctor who would give the treatments. You may place the name of Dr. F. A. Engelhart, [Englehart] Colcord Building, Oklahoma City, on your list. In answering the questions above, I would also like to know what has been your experience in the past with cases similar to the one we are working with here. I will say it seems to me the pack and massages seemed to have a decided effect, and I think improved his condition somewhat. For a while it seemed the protrusion was not nearly so pronounced, but of late, I am inclined to think it has again gone back to its original size. I would like to know also about what length of time has been necessary to correct this condition in former cases? After giving each treatment, should the connections be removed from the cap in the solution, or should this be left connected the full twenty four hours? I presumed that the two solutions as they were sent to us were all ready prepared for use, so I have used them full strength as I received them. If this is not correct, let me know. As we find, conditions show a little improvement. 4. There has not been as much of the stimulating treatments osteopathically given as might have been. 5. These with the activities of the body as we find have been effective. This condition with the activities may not be wholly relieved unless better adherence is made through the coagulative forces in the lymph activity of the peritoneum and through the conditions which exist in the scrotum and the abdomen. 6. This may eventually necessitate operative measures to close same, but the reactions in the nerve system and the blood supply MUST be in proper order before such is undertaken. 7. It may be best determined as to when the body is in the proper condition for such measures to be taken, by the tests made of the blood supply for same. 8. Ready for questions. 9. (Q) What is it that comes down into the scrotum? (A) The intestines. 10. (Q) What causes the frequent bad breath? (A) Poor assimilation. As we have indicated, the osteopathic manipulations should be for the relaxing and stimulating to the stomach for the drainage of the alimentary canal, or through the alimentary canal. 11. (Q) What is the physical cause for being unusually fatigued, cross and easily upset when he is hungry? (A) Nervous condition, as has been indicated. 12. (Q) Did the mentioning of "Mesquite trees" in the first Reading have any special significance? (A) Only that these existed in those points through which there was the passing when the location was made. It had nothing to do with the body, save the associations of the environs or surroundings.

13. (Q) Are we handling this body right physically? (A) There's not full sympathy or cooperation with all of the treatments but there should be the body-building and body-preparation for correction. If the individual who makes the applications doesn't feel that he is competent, then give it to someone else! We would continue in that manner as has been indicated. 14. We are through with this Reading. REPORTS OF READING 2068-2 M 8 R1. 2/28/52 Mother's letter: "Many years ago Mr. Cayce gave a first Physical Reading and also a second Physical Reading for our son. Would it be possible for us to get copies of these readings? I cannot find ours and believe the osteopath still has them. I am particularly interested because I would like to report the results of the surgery suggested by Mr. Cayce. This is just one more case where the surgeon found the condition to be as described in the readings." R2. 6/10/53 Mother's letter: "At long last I will attempt to answer the letter about [2068]. Let me outline his condition prior to the readings... [Here followed repetition of background as given in 2068-1, Par. R2]. He had had ear trouble, with pain; the usual serums and vaccinations, etc. Also birth injury, with resulting convulsions. (Why on earth we did not have more than just a physical reading, I don't know.) Anyway, we hoped to avoid surgery, with what we felt would be a psychological shock. And so, we asked for a physical reading, with Mr. Cayce knowing NOTHING of the child's condition. You will notice he said the trouble was in the caecum. Also, on the check reading that surgery would be necessary. My husband gave the massages and used the Wet Cell Appliance for several months, January through May or June. These seemed to help the nervous condition, and were discontinued when the weather turned too warm for treatments to be comfortable. The osteopath, Dr. Englehart, cooperated fully so far as we know. I have not yet gone to his office to check with him about the treatments, but hope to make connections with him at some time. "Due to preoccupation with my own illness [leukemia], many things have been undone. "We wondered about 'mesquite' trees also. There are none in this immediate vicinity. My husband says probably none for 50 miles to the west and southwest. "We kept gradually and carefully preparing [2068] mentally for surgery, and one day in July 1942 he announced that he was ready. We had him operated 7/11/42 at the age of 10 years, 9 months, by Dr. Curt von Wedel. His report is not available. Briefly, he found that the caecum had descended through the right inguinal opening, and was wrapped around and adherent to the testicle. Thus, proving both our doctor and the reading right - not just a simple hernia, and trouble in the caecum. Surgery completely successful, and the fear of doctors never again present. [2068] graduated with a B.S. in chemistry this spring, and is now employed at ..., Tenn., as Physics Assistant until September, when he will begin work on his masters degree. He has had a marked talent in chemistry

"I will proceed by giving you a somewhat disjointed commentary on my life and then will try to specifically comment on documents [2068] although it is impossible to completely separate the two. "I was never aware of my difficult birth until now. In a rather extensive diary of my childhood, kept by my father, it was recorded only as an R.O.P. Instrument Delivery. "I have reviewed a diary kept by my father in a book 'Your Child, Year by Year' published by Parents Magazine. Surprisingly enough, I can find no indication of the concerns expressed in 2068-1, page 1 Background [2068-1, Par. B1] and 2068-1, page 4 [2068-1, Par. R1]. Very early in my life, age five or six, I hated to be left by my parents or mother, i.e. at school and I know I was terrified of this, but for no apparent reason other than vague recollections of various nurses or housemaids that we had, at least one of which I and my brother hated violently. Our parents took a long, long time to realize that what we were telling them was true - that particular maid left fast. I think my parents were on the edge of the very elite society and wanted me to be part of a society that seemed to me to be foreign to me in terms of my school and neighborhood friends. This may have been one source of my temperament, etc. alluded to in your records. "My fear of doctors was somewhat predicated in fact through my own observation and VERY extensive reading, much of which was unknown to my parents - somewhere about the age of nine I could take the streetcar and later bum downtown where I would spend much time in the public library. I would sneak into the adult stacks. Finally, the library gave up and issued me an ADULT card at the age of ten. Perhaps my parents were preparing me for the operation (2068-2, page 3 [Par. R2, above]) but I was also, unknown to them, I think. They would have been surprised at the extent of my medical knowledge at that time. I didn't understand the details of the techniques but I had found out that they had greatly progressed since the 1800's and even after my mother's appendectomy in the late 1930's. "Since your last records, I have become a professional chemist... I taught at [...] University... I have been in excellent health since my hernia repair in 1942 and have had no hospitalization since that time...

"I'll try to now go through the two readings and comment on various paragraphs but in general I find them vague in content. "2068-1: ...I'm surprised that my grandmother [2035] and my mother [...] were members or Associate Members, but I do know that there had been a Cayce reading on me and that my mother was interested in a wide variety of organizations. "2068-1, PAGE 2, PAR. 4, 5 [2068-1, Par. 10, 11]: I remember that Cocoa Butter was foul smelling! "2068-1, PAGE 2, PAR. 7 [2068-1, Par. 13]: I am interested in what details you may have on the 'Wet Cell Appliance.' I remember it well; basically it was a zinc CuSOU Cu electrolytic cell. I think, with some gadgets. It would have been incapable of delivering any more than about 1.5 volts D.C. - not electrical VIBRATIONS implying an alternating current. "We finally gave up on these treatments and I used the components of this 'Wet Cell' to perform various experiments in electrochemistry. I have VERY great reservations about the efficacy of the treatment described in paragraphs 7--10 on page 2 of 2068-1 [2068-1, Par. 13--16]. I would appreciate it if you could furnish me with the exact details of this 'Wet Cell.' "2068-1, PAGE 3, PAR. 4 [2068-1, Par. 20]: Very wise. Obviously Edgar Cayce knew a lot about nutrition. I think if I really had a nervous problem, it had its roots in nutrition. I have no recollection of problems with constipation. "2068-1, PAGE 2, PAR.'S 8, 9 [2068-1, Par. 14, 15]: What is 'Atomidine'? The details of attaching the electrodes to the skin were evidently very poor. I remember that my father merely taped them on. He should have at least used a conductive paste, otherwise, the contact resistance would have been so extremely high that no current would flow. "2068-1 ENGLEHART'S REPLY: [F.A. Englehart, D.O., page 5 [2068-1, Par. R3]] He was, as I remember, a kindly doctor. I don't think he appreciated the nature of my problem. At one time he suggested some injections to close the opening in my abdominal wall, not realizing that the caecum was adherent to the testicle. "In summary, I evidently did not suffer from my difficult birth, nor did my son who also had a difficult birth. I'm not sure what to make of the rest of your information that you sent me, except to assure you that I enjoy the best of physical and mental health - perhaps my lack of temper is of concern to others but I decided long ago that reason and rational approach to problems is by far the best way to solve them. Nothing can beat either combined with scientific reasoning..."

EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3078]. 3. In giving that as may be helpful for this body, we find that many things must be taken into consideration. 4. While there is the attempt at times for the entity or body to seek spiritual influences, these - spiritual forces - those tenets and truths - are not merely as laws or cloaks that may be put on and taken off. 5. For, as indicated, there are physical disturbances in the body. To be sure, these may be healed by divine forces. But, as given by Him who is the law, who

For, the condemnation of self in others falls on self! And, as the entity will and does find, as the psalmist gave, "That which I hated has come upon me." 7. Then there is little need for attempting to heal an ill body unless the mind, the purpose, the ideal of the entity is set in Him who is peace, life, hope and understanding. For He is indeed the way and the truth and the light. 8. If the entity will apply in self that it KNOWS to do - not as something that applies to self alone, but that applies to self in its relationships to others - the results will be apparent. Ye APPLY thy love, if ye would have others love thee! Ye do trust others and ye ARE the trust and the hope, if ye would have hope or expect others to have hope and trust in thee! 9. For as ye know, as ye interpret in thine own experience, as in the life of Him who - though without fault - was hated of others. "If the world hate me, it does and it will hate thee." But if ye hate the world, if ye dislike those with whom ye are associated, then HIS death, His love, His promise becomes of none effect in thee! 10. For the WORLD hath hated Him without a cause. Ye feel within thyself that ye are distrusted, that ye are hated without a cause. But if ye do the same in return, His promise becomes of none effect in thee - ye are of the world and not of Him. 11. In thy body, - ye find body, mind, soul; or the spiritual, mental and material body. The misapplication of truth in thy mind, in not interpreting the spirit in self, may - as in thine own experience - bring the lack of proper elimination of drosses from thy body. 12. It is true that ye may in the spiritual, in the mental, in the material, make applications of that cleansing that may aid the body in eliminating same from the physical, from the mental, from the spiritual. The spirit is ever willing, and it remains the same yesterday, today and forever. For it is the eternal spiritual law. 13. First, then, the mental attitude towards self, towards the world, towards others, must be changed. For, if ye recognize in self the truth, that which is and was manifested in the Christ-Consciousness, ye will change thy mental attitude - towards self, towards others, towards conditions about thee. THEN ye may see change in the physical results or manifestations in self. Then ye, too, as He gave of old, will wash and be clean every whit! 14. For as the tendons, muscles in the extremities have become leadened, as it were, with the effect of drosses in the body, - if the mental attitude is changed towards those things that hinder physically, - we would then begin with these: 15. Take two drops of Atomidine in half a glass of water each morning before breakfast for five days in succession. And on the fifth day take five drops.

16. Then take two drops every other day for five doses. Then on the fifth dose take five drops. 17. Have THEN an Epsom Salts Bath in hot water saturated with Epsom Salts; at least fifteen pounds to fifty gallons of water, this hot. Remain in same for at least twenty minutes, with a cold cloth on top of head - not ice, but a cold cloth dampened with the ordinary temperature of tap water. 18. Following this Epsom Bath have a thorough rubdown with Pine Oil; that there may be healing by the very fact of cleansing the mind and cleansing the body. 19. In the diets, do include daily the raw vegetables. This is nature's way of keeping the body clean. 20. But begin with the self, the mind - and these done, we will bring better influences, better forces about the body. 21. Ready for questions. 22. (Q) Should the series of Atomidine and Epsom Baths be repeated? (A) If there is not the entire elimination. Just as breaking self from any other habit, - if ye break over, try again! In the try, help will come. In the application there may be established the knowledge of the truth and the way, and help may come physically, mentally, spiritually. For, if ye know the truth - and apply it not, it is sin. And if sin lies at thy door, can ye have peace with self or with others? 23. (Q) What should be done for the inguinal hernia weakness? I wrote The Atomidine Co. of Brooklyn, N.Y. asking how much money I should send as there might be some extra charge if sent by express or parcel post, and also what the Atomidine was usually taken for as I did not understand clearly in your reading what it was for, whether as a medicine for some stomach trouble or organ, or stimulant, or bowel remedy, or what. The Atomidine Co. did not reply to my letter so I did not get the Atomidine. "Would you mind telling me what the Atomidine is to be taken for in my case? Incidentally do you happen to know what the ingredients of the Atomidine are? As soon as I hear from you I will write the Atomidine Company or call on them for the mixture if they are still in business. "Is it not possible to buy this medicine at some drug store? "I notice you mention taking at least 15 pounds of Epsom Salts in fifty gallons of hot water. I presume all at once? Will a bath tub hold as much as fifty gallons of water in addition to the 15 pounds of Epsom Salts? I suppose the water could be measured by using a quart (milk) bottle (empty) and filling 200 times with hot water. "Does one get that much Epsom Salts in a drug store or grocery? "Am I correct in assuming all this Epsom Salts and 50 gallons of water used at the same time, once? "Thank you, I am..."

R2. 7/29/43 EC's letter to [3078]: "...I have yours of the twenty-sixth. Atomidine, of course, is iodine with the poison taken out of it so there is the same reaction every time it is taken. It is to add iodine to the system to purify the glands and to work with the ability of the system, to release poisons from the system. To be sure Atomidine can be bought in many drugstores. Many a bathtub will hold more than 50 gallons of water, but I wouldn't measure it with a quart bottle. Fifteen pounds of Epsom salts is not a great amount to dissolve in 50 gallons of water. Yes, you can get the salts at the drugstore. It should require for you to remain in the bath for a length of time. The idea is to have sufficient to immerse the body well in it. This has been given to many a number of people and it is a practical thing to do. "I do hope that you will get real results..." R3. 11/15/44 [3078]'s letter to Secretary, Assoc. for Research & Enlightenment: "Dear Madam, I am in receipt of your letters of Sept. 11th and November, 1944, concerning the expiration of my Associate Membership. B2. 12/10/43 Letter: "...For the last two years I have been suffering from a hydrocele in right testicle. It has caused no pain or actual discomfort, but am very anxious to get rid of same and without an operation if possible. Is an operation necessary? Outside of being nervous and rundown, I know of no other specific trouble (except hay fever every fall, and since I have had that all my life, I hardly expect to be cured of that). "Have been taking treatment for about a year and nine months from a homeopath who is supposed to be unusual. He has done wonders for me in a general way, but he has not yet touched the hydrocele. He insists that that too will yield, but that it requires more time. "I have heard of several cases where the old fashioned German salve treatment has been very successful in hydrocele. These cases happened many years ago, of course. I myself, when a child of five, was cured of a bad rupture by this treatment. I have tried to locate such a doctor, but there seems to be none left. We would only add that about once each week, the body have an osteopathic adjustment made for the lumbar and sacral areas; then coordinating from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cervicals; 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th dorsals, 9th dorsal with those adjustments made in the lumbar and sacral. (A) The osteopathic treatments are to correct the associations or activities of the lymphatic circulation and the cerebrospinal system, and these will remove those tendencies in the mucous membranes and set up drainages so that there will be relief. These as we find may be materially aided. We do not find cures entirely, but they may be materially aided. 5. We would have those applications of the low Wet Cell Appliance for this body. R E A D I N G Time of Reading Cayce Hospital, 4: 00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Virginia Beach, Va. (Physical Suggestion) 1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5417]. Now, we find the body physical is very good in many respects. There are rather those conditions of which the body should be mindful and take measures for the proper consideration of the strength and the vitality, that these weaknesses as are beginning to appear do not become accentuated to such an extent as to prove more detrimental to the welfare of the physical or material being. 2. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [5417] we are speaking of, present in this room. 3. THE BLOOD SUPPLY, shows the strain, rather, under which it labors at times, as is indicated in both the nerve system and blood supply, for the dizziness as occurs at times, the fullness and the equilibrium not just as the body would have same. Also in the general physical conditions, where the body is kept under such strains, as is seen when the body MOVES about, the tendency as has occurred for the tissue, the body in its CASEMENT to give, as is seen in the manner where the folds in tissue are such that the tendency towards hernia, or towards rupture, produces a pressure that becomes pain to the body. 4. Now, these are rather the running too much at full steam ahead, rather than fault of the body giving away in organic or even functional troubles. 5. Then, THAT is the condition of which the body should be warned. 6. Now, TENDENCIES as are seen in the lower part of hepatic circulation, the stress on kidneys, show the effect as is produced in system. Thus the system, in attempting to adjust itself to the equilibrium necessary, will tend to throw such poisons in the system as to continually weaken the vitality of the body, UNLESS a halt is called in the USING UP of the ENERGIES of the system. 7. Now, to operate for condition as exists would be very good, for that would be ONE way to make or cause the body to REST; but would the body REST sufficient to REGAIN its vitality, how much BETTER this would be than to etherize even that energy, that vitality, as has driven the body to overtax itself. 8. Then, to meet the needs of the conditions for this body, WE would rather give that at least for three to four weeks, as near as is possible, REST. During that

period we would have the thorough massage as would be in the Swedish massage, or in the neuropathic massage, and take the low form of electrical vibration, either from those of the sinusoidal or from the ultra violet, or some of both - rather these far apart; but REST - that most needed. (A) Would the body, as has been given, REST - how much BETTER would be for NATURE to care for these conditions, with the proper care of the tissue about this rupture - but would the body not care for the rest, then FORCE REST by the operation! but WE would not give operation until at least nature is given a chance to adjust itself and to bring about the near NORMAL forces for this body, for the strength and vitality are just being SAPPED, and the physical body fades, or fails to keep the tension at such a rate. 10. (Q) How is the blood condition? (A) Blood condition, as is given, very good, except under this STRAIN under which the body has driven, and does drive itself. With the equalization of the system as a whole, we will find all of these tensions WILL come to a near NORMAL response and a normal reaction. 11. (Q) Should he wear a truss or not? (A) Dependent upon the action the body is to take. Would the body rest, only bandage would be necessary. Would the body NOT rest, truss would be better, or operation - as has been given. This weakness can be congenital (umbilical hernias, epigastric, inguinal hernias) or acquired (some inguinal hernias), and following abdominal operations. Surgical Techniques The surgical techniques available for the treatment of hernia are classed in three groups:

1. The pure tissue repairs (Shouldice operation); 2. The Tension-free repairs (Lichtenstein, Gilbert, Rutkow); 3. The laproscopic techniques. The Shouldice Operation This pure tissue technique was introduced in 1945 by Dr. E.E. Shouldice. Since then, the operation has proved to be the most reliable, safe and cost-effective technique. The operation is carried out under local anaesthesia, contributing to the exceptional safety of the operation. Just as important as the technique is the fact that a team of 12 surgeons have devoted all their time and resources exclusively to the practice of hernia surgery. Shouldice Hospital surgeons will each perform from 400 to 700 operations a year, providing a sixth valuable sense in the recognition and handling of all the problems that surround hernia pathology. The Shouldice Team of Surgeons have performed more than 300, 000 operations. Tension-Free Repairs Tension-free repairs demand the use of foreign prosthetic materials (mesh) for all necessary repairs. The actual hernia is left in place and the defect occluded or covered by a prosthesis. Tissue then grows into the mesh. These prosthesis are not without problems. Should infection supervene, all prostheses must be removed and the hernia repaired by a pure tissue repair. In the few cases where prostheses are a must (less than 2%), the Shouldice surgeons have the knowledge and the techniques to use them. In any case, those surgeons who use mesh for the 'tension-free' repairs have not demonstrated better results. Their chief claim is an earlier return to work, and even that claim is being questioned, as our patients have, on average, returned to work in 8.2 days. Laproscopic Hernia Surgery This new type of surgery performed under general anaesthetic consists of repairing the hernia internally through the inflated abdomen. The surgeon must enter the abdominal cavity through small incisions to insert a prosthesis.

My grandfather was a sharp, evidence-based, hardheaded, mechanical guy. If something on his house needed fixing, he would fix it. He used all kinds of natural health aids long before they were in vogue. He remained relatively healthy into old age. When his mind began to slip, he ended up in a nursing home. There the house surgeon convinced Gramps that his inguinal hernia (that he had for as long as I could remember) needed to be fixed.

It was an easy sell. After all, Gramps had a mild case of dementia. And he saw his body somewhat like his house—if something was broken, it must need to be fixed. So despite a lack of any hernia symptoms, he was soon under anesthesia and ready for the knife. We were later told that "the operation was a success, but Gramps died on the table."

Myth Debunked If you have an inguinal hernia, you need truthful information. Most of what

your doctor or surgeon will tell you are myths. A study reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association (January 18, 2007) debunked this myth and misinformation. Many surgeons will operate on inguinal hernias, even if there are no symptoms. They will tell you that you run a much-feared consequence if you delay surgery.

That consequence or danger is that your hernia will become strangulated, cutting off circulation and causing bowel obstruction, gangrene, and/or peritonitis. No doubt Gramps was given this bit of medical drivel. Yet when the statistics of the dangers of delaying surgery versus the dangers of the surgery itself were examined, the facts were somewhat startling.

First, even after years, there is rarely any problem with strangulation. In fact, only 1 in 720 men experienced a problem (without strangulation) after 2 years. And 1 man experienced bowel obstruction after 4 years. As for the surgery itself, 3 out of 720 men experienced a life-threatening complication. And less severe complications like urinary tract infections, hernia recurrence, pain and discomfort ran close to 25%.

Many men in the study crossed over (23% of the watchful waiting group opted for the surgery, and 17% of the surgery group opted for watchful waiting). In the end, the conclusion is clear. Most of what your surgeon tells you is now known to be myth. Men with minimal or no symptoms should avoid surgery unless or until their hernia causes symptoms that interfere with everyday life.

Hernia Pressure Point Secret One thing you may never be told by your physician or surgeon is that if

your hernia is less than the size of an egg, you can often reduce or even eliminate it with a deep pressure technique. This is particularly effective with the sudden and acute strain (with pain) of a hernia. It is generally done by a chiropractor, osteopath, or physical therapist, but it can be done at home. It consists of applying very deep pressure to four different points near the hernia.

The first point is just above your pubic bone, generally just on or below the hernia bulge itself. The next three points are 1, 2, and 3 inches above the first point going up (superior) and at a 45° angle toward the front bony part of your pelvis, which sticks out at approximately belly-button level. Start at Point 1 and use your thumbs to go as deep as you can. If inflamed or active, this will generally cause pain. If you are able to produce a "super-hot, almost like a flame" pain, you are on exactly the right spot. Hold this pressure until the hot pain subsides, but not longer than 15 seconds. Then

proceed to Points 2, 3, and 4 and perform the same procedure.

Start again at Point 1 and repeat the whole procedure. For acute cases, you can perform this entire procedure daily for a week. Generally, in chronic hernia cases, perform it daily for a month. This treatment is also very effective for a hernia that has become strained, or for an acute muscle strain in the groin.

This therapy is effective. By using activating pressure receptors, and triggering stretch reflexes, this treatment induces muscle tightening and strengthening, and reduces the hernia itself', as well as the accompanying pain.
