W elcome and thank you for worshipping with us! We pray that what you hear and experience
here today will speak directly to your heart and that you will feel at home.
Welcome to our visitors and guests! We feel blessed that you have chosen to join us. We would love to
get to know you. Please take a moment to fill out a welcome card and place it in either the collection bag
or the office mailbox. If you are visiting, please do not feel obligated to give during the offering; today
you are our guests. We hope to see you worshipping with us again! Hearing impaired? See one of our
ushers to receive a hearing assistance device during the worship service. Church Pamphlets are available
in front of the sanctuary providing you with more information about our church..
Joining the Church... After attending our services on a regular basis, we hope you are led to a deeper
relationship with this community—one that involves sharing in our covenant with God. Are you willing to
make that commitment? A decision to join any community of faith requires prayer, experience, and
discernment. We welcome everyone who is thinking about joining the church to meet with one of our
pastors in order to pray about and to explore this desire.

MISSION STATEMENT “We are a community called to be a tangible display of God’s power in Christ Jesus to bring unity and
healing to all dimensions of human life.”
MINISTRY PRIORITIES
Hospitable Community
As a tangible display of God’s renewing power,
we extend His hospitality by:
Involving ourselves in the lives and needs of
one another and our neighbours.
Inviting our neighbours to follow Christ with
us.
Warmly embracing one another and our
neighbours.
Multi-cultural Community
As a tangible display of God’s power to bring
unity, we seek to express the rich diversity of
God’s family.
Discipling Community
As a tangible display of God’s restoring power,
we establish ministries that will equip all of us
to follow Jesus in every area of life.
Praying Community
As a community dependent on God’s
empowering presence, we devote ourselves to
communal and individual prayer that delights in
His presence and persistently petitions Him to
act in our world.
Our Church Family
We give thanks and praise to God for a life filled
with His blessings, providing for us in all our needs
and circumstances, as we celebrate 55 years of
marriage on Good Friday, April 6, 2012.
-Walter and Sylvia Verwoerd
We extend our condolences to George and
Marianne Vandelft and the extended Vanderniet
family. Joop Vanderniet died peacefully early on
Friday morning as he was called to be with Jesus. We
thank the Lord for sustaining the family during these
last months and pray that he will continue to
surround them with his grace and peace.
We thank the Lord for the safe arrival of the
Honduras team back to Vancouver in the early
hours of Friday morning. We are grateful to God for
answered prayer and look forward to hearing further
reports from the team.
Mike Hoyer returned from Pakistan for a brief stay
last week. The work in the region of Islamabad goes
well. Living with high security has taken some
getting used to for Mike. Mike are away for a
planned trip now, but in a few weeks he will be
returning to Pakistan until mid May. Pray for the
ongoing relief efforts in this region.
Please remember Johanna Beunk, Ken deJager, Jake
Koole, Johanna Meyer, Chris Eyzenga, Gerrit Kasteel,
Margaret and Len Van Dop, and others in our church
family who are shut-in, or experience illness and
daily hardships. Pray that God will encourage them.
Also, pray for their caregivers and thank the Lord for
His faithfulness and pray for His strength to fill them.

Offerings
Offerings during the worship service are for New West Church and local ministries as well as denomina-
tional ministries. There may be a designated special cause identified below. Please place your offerings
into the bag, using your current envelopes if you have them. There are also envelopes in the pew if you
are a guest or forgot yours at home. Cheques should be made out to the New Westminster CRC and
should indicate the ministry you are donating to. All donation dollars and loose change will be applied to
the following second collection:
Today’s Offering is for Christian Education Fund (CEF). This fund was established by the deacons
shortly after John Knox Christian School was started in 1955 and is there for families that are members of
the New Westminster CRC. The CEF provides short-term tuition help to families experiencing financial
difficulties. Your generous donations help make it possible for these children to receive a Christ-centered
education.
Next week’s Offering will be for Diaconal Benevolence. Your gifts help the deacons to provide assis-
tance to people within our own church family as well as the local community whenever the need
arises.
Thank you for supporting New West Church and these various ministries.

RAYE POINTS
P R The Persecuted Church:
Eritrea: The Orthodox Alliance
Church’s leader is in prison and needs prayer. His
health is deteriorating as he is diabetic and doesn’t
get the medical care that he needs. The situation in
Eritrea is very bad for Christians. 2,000 to 3,000
Christians are in prison. Some of them are placed in
metal shipping containers where there is no light,
fresh air, and toilet. Many have fallen sick. Pray that
the Lord will protect them and that the government
will become Christians.
Nigeria: Suicide bombers arranged by Boko Haram
and Al Qaeda have been attacking Nigerian churches
and many people have been killed. They want to get
rid of Christians and implement Shariah Law all over
Nigeria. Military personnel are also involved in killing
Christians. There have been reprisal attacks against
the Muslims, making the situation very serious there.
Yet, in the Northern part, several prayer groups exist.
They pray and sing praises to the Lord for hours. Pray
that the Lord will bless them and that the Muslims will
turn to Jesus. Pray for the missionaries there, and for
their safety.
Pakistan: We have heard about the blasphemy law
and that several Christians are being put in prison due
to false accusations. Pray for these people. Yet, in
some areas, there is revival led by an evangelist who
went there and led the people to Christ. The Lord
blesses her work. Mosques were emptied and used
for churches instead. Praise God for this and pray that
it will spread to other areas.
Many come to the Lord through house fellowships in
Europe, Portugal, Romania, and Belarus. Praise the
Lord that Christianity is growing.
Pray for Syria, Egypt, China and Sudan where
conditions are becoming worse for Christians. Let’s
not forget our brothers and sisters who suffer so
much, yet, they are praying for us. Thank God for all
that is being done by missionaries all over the world
and CRWRC. Have a blessed week.
