SAFETY, PERFORMANCE,COMFORT.H2O Outdoor Gear (www.h2ooutdoorgear.com) and H2O Guides (www.alaskahelicopterskiing.com) design and manufacture practical heavy-duty lightweight gear to increase your performance, safety, and comfort.

Our gear is conceived and rigorously tested by world champion skier, alpinist, and renowned mountain guide Dean Cummings and the H2O Team during remote mechanized aircraft operations in Alaska’s Chugach Range surrounding Valdez and Prince William Sound, a vast wilderness with thousands of islands, tidewater glaciers spilling into the ocean, burly topography, and more separate alpine glaciers than anywhere else in the world.

H2OG equips outdoors enthusiasts, skiers, patrollers, guides, ski instructors, mountain operations personnel, climbers, mountaineers, and anyone who lives The Steep Life with gear proven by mountain professionals who live and work in extreme environments.

The H2OG collection includes Dean Cummings’ ATG (Access the Goods) Ski Line handmade in the USA, high performance ski boots, hard shell jacket, soft shell jacket, pant bibs, backpacks, radio harnesses, knee pads, ski bags, and accessories.

OUR STORY

H2O Outdoor Gear (H2OG) was conceived and founded in 2010 by world champion skier, alpinist, and renowned mountain guide Dean Cummings in Alaska’s remote Chugach Range surrounding Valdez and Prince William Sound, a vast wilderness with thousands of islands, tidewater glaciers spilling into the ocean, and more separate alpine glaciers than anywhere else in the world.

In 1991 Dean arrived in Valdez to compete in the World Extreme Skiing Championships (WESC) held in the Chugach Range. After ascending and descending his first Alaska peaks, Dean understood that the massively glaciated mountains, burly topography, and severe weather conditions in the Chugach necessitated next level equipment and top-down protocol to increase safety, performance, and comfort.

In 1995 Dean, who was already a seasoned mountain guide in Valdez with numerous first descents, founded H2O Guides. For the next two decades Dean helped innovate skis and equipment for multiple companies including Salomon, Arc’Teryx, and BCA while guiding heli skiers from around the world and achieving hundreds more first descents in the heart of the Chugach.

In 2010 Dean founded H2OG to envision, prototype, test, and manufacture the next level of practical heavy-duty lightweight outdoor gear to address this new exciting era of outdoors recreation where resorts are opening up wild new terrain, more people are accessing the backcountry, and the average skill level of skiers and snowboarders is higher than ever before.

In 2011 Dean achieved the first and only direct descent from the summit of The Tusk and first descent of the Dragon’s Back Spine on Meteorite Mountain skiing on the flagship Karen’cito Skis, the predecessor to the AK Master Skis. In 2012 he completed the first full descent from the summit of Mount Francis, again on the Karen’cito Skis. In 2013 Dean achieved descents of Godzilla and Hourglass deep within the Chugach on a prototype H2OG ski, and core elements of this prototype were integrated into the current generation of the Dean Cummings’ ATG Ski Line.

During these early years of H2OG, Dean and the H2O Team tested several prototypes of technical lightweight hardshell jackets, pant bibs, softshell jackets, and other essential gear, continually refining and improving performance and functionality.

Today H2OG is proud to offer a collection of practical heavy duty outdoor gear that shields you from extreme weather conditions and increases your safety, performance, and comfort. H2OG is founded on Dean and the H2O Team’s decades of experience, research, and development while conducting remote guided aircraft operations in the harshest weather conditions amongst the most impressive glaciation, steep mountains, and deepest snow on the planet..

OVER THE YEARS, SKIING ON THE BEST SKIS IN THE WORLD, I have enjoyed designing and testing skis as much as skiing itself. This process is nearly sacred. When seeing a ski being completed, just hand finished in the factory, it gives you that deep powder turn bliss feeling. The ACCESS THE GOODS SKIS are custom hand made by skiers in the USA and are “over-built” for your skiing adventures. All of the ATG skis in the line up effortlessly ski groomed runs as well as Big Mountain. These are the most forgiving, versatile, effortless skis we have tested!

Skiing Is Life!

ACCESS THE GOODS SKISDean Cummings’ Access The Goods (ATG) Skis are handmade in the USA by passionate skiers located on the western slopes of the Wasatch Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. H2OG Skis are conceived, designed, and rigorously tested by world champion skier and renowned mountain guide Dean Cummings and the H2O Team in the Wasatch, Chugach Range of Alaska, Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Vermont’s icy and variable conditions, and the windswept Andes Mountains of South America.

Built with proven materials that have consistently won more medals on the World Cup Tour combined with pro-prietary technology and bombproof construction, H2OG ATG Skis boost your skiing to a higher level and help you achieve your full potential on snow.

The entire ATG Ski Line features full length wood cores for superior strength, stiffness, and improved binding screw retention while keeping the skis lightweight and damp. Tapered sidewalls are heat fused to wood cores creating a very rigid edge, preventing edge damage, and keeping the skis durable, damp, and impact resistant. An innovative use of materials and construction allows the skis to remain stable at high speeds without chatter or flop.

Our hybrid ATG Skis have traditional camber and sidecut underfoot, and precise rocker and reverse sidecut and camber at tip and tail, enabling the hybrid-construction ATG Skis to engage the edges throughout the turn for ultimate control on all snow conditions.
