National Collegiate Leadership Conference

The National Collegiate Leadership Conference

(NCLC) is held at the University of Arizona annual-

ly and this year Fort Lewis College sent eight stu-

dent representatives. This event is a student-run

conference that hosts over 600 participants from

over 20 states. NCLC is rooted in the idea that lead-

ership, service, and social justice are all connected.

Participants engaged in workshops on body lan-

guage, networking, negotiation, emotional intelli-

gence, feminism, and so many more. Here is what

some FLC students who attended had to say:

“I would say one of the main things I took away was the idea of understanding yourself in order to successfully lead.”

-Samantha Garcia

“The biggest takeaway from the sessions was how much impact small details can have on my success and how valuable my time is. “

-Nino Kvaraia

Fort Lewis College students Jill Panawa

and Cory Patterson presented a program

called “LoveQuest” at NCLC. Their ses-

sion focused on how individuals can use

their Top 5 Strengths from Clifton

StrengthsFinder to better understand re-

lationships. They added a fun twist to it

by incorporating Disney characters.
