Ethics Bowl On February 22nd, the FLC Ethics Bowl team competed in
the 19th Annual APPE Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl. The
four team members attended the annual Association of
Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE) which conclud-
ed with the competition featuring 32 teams from around
the country. This was FLC’s first time at the national com-
petition and they secured the invitation after winning the
Rocky Mountain Regional Ethics Bowl. FLC was highly
competitive and finished the day 2-1, defeating teams
from the University of Northern Georgia and the Univer-
sity of Alaska-Anchorage while falling to the University of
Oklahoma in a tight match. Students from all majors are
invited to share their interest in joining the team for next
year by contacting the Leadership Center. Congratula-
tions to the team on their success! Go Skyhawks!

National Collegiate Leadership Conference
The National Collegiate Leadership Conference
(NCLC) is held at the University of Arizona annual-
ly and this year Fort Lewis College sent eight stu-
dent representatives. This event is a student-run
conference that hosts over 600 participants from
over 20 states. NCLC is rooted in the idea that lead-
ership, service, and social justice are all connected.
Participants engaged in workshops on body lan-
guage, networking, negotiation, emotional intelli-
gence, feminism, and so many more. Here is what
some FLC students who attended had to say:
“I would say one of the main things I took away was the idea of understanding yourself in order to successfully lead.”
-Samantha Garcia
“The biggest takeaway from the sessions was how much impact small details can have on my success and how valuable my time is. “
-Nino Kvaraia
Fort Lewis College students Jill Panawa
and Cory Patterson presented a program
called “LoveQuest” at NCLC. Their ses-
sion focused on how individuals can use
their Top 5 Strengths from Clifton
StrengthsFinder to better understand re-
lationships. They added a fun twist to it
by incorporating Disney characters.
