It’s hard to believe, but school will be out for the summer in a month and we are collecting donations for PB&J for 53 children

in the Snack Sack program at SRAA. If you’d like to purchase PB&J, please be sure to buy plastic containers since the children

are responsible for taking the items home. If you’d prefer, you may donate cash or checks (payable to Trinity UMW) and give

to Marilyn Lloyd or Lynn Martin. The collection box is in the Gathering Area.

.

SATURDAY, JUNE 1 10 A.M. – 1 P.M.

Children of all ages welcome!

Water Slide Water Games Prizes

Hot Dog Lunch and More!

Volunteers are needed for supervision, running games, serving watermelon, providing $10 gift cards for big game

winners (McDonald’s, Rush’s, Wal-Mart, Target as examples), set up and clean up, and to provide donations to

cover cost of meal or watermelons. If you can help with any of the above, please sign up on the sheets in the

Gathering Area.

The Wednesday Bible studies will be suspended for the month of May. They will resume on June 12.

GLIA Articles are due on Thursday, May 23.

The Church Office will be closed on Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day.

Sound System Upgrade and Training

The church is upgrading its sound system by installing choir microphones, fixing the sound in the gathering area

and nursery, and replacing some of our old wiring and outdated equipment. Technicians with Intergrated Media are

holding a training session on Tuesday, May 28, at 9:15 a.m., to review the software that controls the various

microphones and sound levels. If you are interested in learning how the sound system works, please plan to attend.

And even if you can’t attend and are willing to learn how to turn on and control the sound, record the service and

operate or prepare the Powerpoint for the worship service, please let the pastor know of your interest.

FROM EWORTH CHILDREN’S HOME

Thank you for continuous efforts in supporting Epworth Children’s Home through the Mother’s Day offering. In

addition to providing residential care for children and youth, our mission is growing through the recruitment of

foster parents. The month of May also happens to be Foster Parent Appreciation month. Foster parents play such

an important role in providing a loving, nurturing, safe and stable home to a child until their permanent plan is

reached; be it return home, live with a relative or adoption.

There are currently close to 5000 children in foster care in South Carolina. Wouldn’t it be amazing if there was a

home readily available to take a child, a sibling group or a teenager when they need it! And if that home was in the

community from which the child was removed so the child can remain connected to so many things they risk being

removed from! There are not enough homes to fill the need! We ask that you pray about how you can help this

growing ministry. There are many ways to help including becoming a foster parent.

Please contact one of our offices to find out what you can do to help! Columbia office: 803-828-7724 Charleston office: 843-670-4733 or our website epworthchildrenshome.org
