Willow Point is a popular spot for observing waterfowl Easy Trails: Willow Point Trail (#2) Level, paved path to a lakeside vista for observ- ing waterfowl. Note: Closed on waterfowl hunng days. Demonstration Plots Trail (#4) – Flat, easy walk between Fire Line and Elders Run Trail. Takes you through a series of forestry demo plots used for educational purposes for different groups. Volunteer Trail (#7) – Connects Valley View and Fire Line Trails to Middle Creek and Horseshoe Trails. Fire Line Trail (#8) – Connects loop of Valley View Trail. Also forms con- nection between Volunteer Trail and Demonstration Plots Trail. Deer Path Trail (#10) Traverses a wet woodland between White Oak and Red Rock picnic areas with various openings to the lake. Moderate Trails: Conservation Trail (#1) Loop from Visitors Center, up to a ridge, through forest, field and wetlands. Interpretive brochure is available. Good for kids. Spicebush Trail (#3) Starts opposite old Sunfish Pond Dam, follows small stream through wetland and forest. Short sections connect with Valley View Trail. Good for kids. Middle Creek Trail (#6) – Begins opposite the dam and follows an aban- doned trolley line right-of-way along Middle Creek stream. Connects Elders Run Trail near its southern end. Steep & Lengthy Trails: Elders Run Trail (#5) – Follows old road up a ridge, across Horse-Shoe Trail, and down the other side. Open to bicycles and horses. Connects with Middle Creek Trail on southern end. Valley View Trail (#9) – Steep loop starts at Laurel Drive parking area, up the ridge through a series of switch- backs to a vista. Trail connects to Horse -Shoe Trail at the top and connects with to Spicebush Trail at the bottom. Millstone Trail (#11) Very steep loop ascends a ridge, passes an old charcoal pit and millstone quarry to a vista. Connects to Horse-Shoe Trail on top. Horse-Shoe Trail (#12) Begins at Valley Forge Naonal Historic Park and ends at the Appalachian Trail north of Hershey. Runs about 8 miles across Middle Creek. Open to bicycles and horses. Accessible from Elders Run, Valley View and Millstone Trails. Also accessible from Hopeland and Mill- stone Road. Theres also a viewing area that overlooks the lake and a songbird feeding staon. The center al- so hosts numerous programs & acvies throughout the year. Current informaon about programs can be found on the Pennsylvania Game Commission website. Peak viewing mes for waterfowl coincide with the spring and fall migraons. For snow geese, the first week in March is generally the peak for viewing this amazing migraon spectacle, when tens of thousands of them descend on the area. Programs for schools, groups and scouts are available year-round. A brochure detailing educaonal opportunies can be picked up at the front counter. The Visitors Center is open from February 1 unl the day before Thanks- giving, Tuesday through Saturday, 8am to 4pm, and Sunday, 12 PM to 5pm. Make sure to check out our radio tour!
