Summit Overview Dr Mohan Kaul, Director General, Commonwealth Business Council Following the successful Power Summit 2011, the Commonwealth Energy Summit is de‐signed to provide a high level platform to discuss issues relating to energy security, natural resource utilisation, power generation and renewable energy. The Commonwealth platform encourages greater engagement between developed and developing countries, sharing of best practice across the sector and the connection of investors to new opportunities in a diverse range of markets.

The Energy Summit will give Governments the opportunity to outline their future energy requirements and strategies to an audience of private sector solution providers, financiers and investors. It will give best in class service providers and cutting‐edge technology developers the opportunity to showcase their expertise. The Summit will be global with participation from Ministers of Power and Energy from the Commonwealth and beyond together with delegations from across the world each bringing a regional as well as a national dimension to the conference. There will be a focus on countries and regions including from Africa, Asia‐Pacific, Europe, the Americas and the Caribbean
