Game NotesLast Time Out: The Soaring Eagles are coming off a 2-0 road loss to Empire 8 Conference foe, Alfred University. Elmira surrendered the game’s first goal in the 21st minute and allowed another in the 69th minute. Elmira goalkeep-er, Jordan Dougherty ’16, made five saves in the contest.

Welcome Home: Elmira returns to Campus Field for the first time in over two weeks as the Soaring Eagles concluded a three-game road trip against Alfred last Saturday. Since 2002, Elmira has gone 7-4 in home games following road-trips of three games or more. In those 11 games, Elmira has outscored their opponents, 21-12.

Series History: Since 2002, Elmira and Hobart have faced each other four times. In those four meetings, the States-men have gotten the better of the Soaring Eagles, winning each match-up. The most recent meeting between the two teams occurred last season when Hobart edged Elmira, 3-1.

Looking Ahead: Following today’s matchup, the Soaring Eagles will take a few days off before hosting Empire 8 Con-ference opponent Nazareth College on Saturday, October 25th at 1:00 p.m.

Game NotesA Look at Hobart: The Statesmen of Hobart College will be hungry for a win today after coming off a pair of 0-0 double overtime ties against Liberty League opponents Skidmore College and RPI. With the two ties, Hobart’s overall record stands at 8-4-3.

Hobart’s Spark Plug: Marco Ronning ’16 has been instru-mental to Hobart’s success this year. Despite not having a multi-goal game in 2014, Ronning leads the Statesmen with 14 points on four goals and a team-leading six assists. Of his four goals, three have come in the form of game-winners and in games when Ronning registers a point, the States-men have gone 6-0-1.

Between the Posts: Hobart has primarily used two goal-keepers throughout the 2014 season in Mike Lucas ’15 and Tyler Serafine ’16. Both players have seen substantial min-utes with Lucas seeing the most time, logging 838 minutes. However, Serafine has gotten the nod in net more recently, starting in Hobart’s last three games, all of which were Lib-erty League contests. Lucas has the most saves with 47 but Serafine boasts the best goals against average at 0.81.
