We have taken part in this campaign for 6 years. We have collected 66,135 kg waste paper till now.

70 kg waste paper = 1 tree We saved 66,135 kg : 70kg = 945 trees

The maximum depth: 459 m (Landsort trench)

There are 30 species of fish in Estonian waters and 10 species of migrant fish.

There are also ca 440 species of invertebrates.

Lake Kaali is unique in Europe because it is a water-filled meteor crater. It is on the biggest island Saaremaa.

Rivers

The longest river is the Võhandu which is 162 kilometres.

We have over 7,000 watercourses. Waterfalls are only in the rivers of North-Estonia. Sandstone outcrops are common in South-Estonia.

The western rivers get often flooded.

The highest artificial waterfall is the Valaste (30.5m)

The highest natural waterfall is the Jägala (8.1m)

Just this autumn another high waterfall was discovered at Toilamõisa (25.7 m)

Swamps A swamp is an area or

ecosystem where lots of plants remain decomposed.

Swamps develop when the land is too wet or when lakes grow together.

There are 9,836 swamps which is 22.3 % of the total area.

The thickest layer of peat is in Vällamäe bog (18 m).

The biggest bog lake is the Loosalu which is close to our school.

It is underground water that often gives us drinking water

Estonia has around 5,000 springs but many of them are dry in summer
