South Park School Distr ict Introduces Mobile App

It’s easier than ever to stay connected with the South Park School District. The district has introduced its first ever mobile app. Available in the iTunes App and Google Play stores, the South Park School District app features news, calendars with district events and lunch menus.

The South Park School District app is free and comes a little more than two months since the district unveiled its new website.

Also featured on the SPSD app are links to the South Park School District staff directory and sports and activities schedules.

The South Park School District was well represented at the annual South Park Township Community Day on Saturday, September 17. Among those participating in the parade were members of the South Park School District Board of Directors, Administration, the South Park Education Association, the SPHS Band, the SPHS Color Guard, the SPHS Majorettes, SPHS Cheerleaders, SPMS cheerleaders, South Park Youth Football players, and South Park Youth cheerleaders.

Get to know...Brenda Lindsay

South Park Elementary Center First Grade Teacher

This is Mrs. Lindsay’s 30th year with the South Park School District! She graduated from Westminster College and received her masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She says her favorite things about teaching first grade are helping children to love learning and instilling patriotism and pride.

Mrs. Lindsay lives in South Park. She has four children. Three of her children graduated from South Park High School. Her youngest child, Hunter, is a sophomore at South Park High School.

Open Houses to be Held Next WeekSouth Park School District’s Open Houses at all three of its schools are next week. As a reminder, students are dismissed two hours early on the day of their school’s open house. South Park Elementary Center’s Open House will be held on Monday, September 26 from

6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

South Park Middle School’s Open House will be held on Tuesday, September 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

South Park High School’s Open House will be held on Wednesday, September 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

South Park Elementary Center HERO DAY

South Park Elementary Center students got the chance to meet and thank those who serve our community during the annual Hero Day on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.

South Park Township Police, Tri Community South EMS, Allegheny County Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and the Office of the Attorney General participated in the event organized by the South Park Elementary Center PTO.

Students got to ask questions and take tours of the vehicles on display in the South Park Elementary Center parking lot.

South Park High School Student Cast in Pittsburgh CLO Academy Production

South Park High School junior Samantha Hawk has been cast as Mrs. Meers in the Pittsburgh CLO Academy’s production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. Performances are scheduled for September 24 and 25 at Pittsburgh’s CAPA School.
