Instructional staff at all levels (administrators, teachers, instructional paraeducators) have the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to appropriately utilize data to guide decisions which support increased achievement for all students

Activities and Task Year 1 CommentsProvide training in the use of desktop data tools to analyze the instructional needs of students

Leadership team training of SOAR provided Initial training to utilize SOAR provided in all schools

School improvement planning teams utilize both qualitative and quantitative data

Building improvement teams utilizing data, documented in school improvement plans

Staff members at both LMS and LHS utilized many kinds of data throughout the accreditation process

School improvement plans align with the district’s Theory of Action

School Improvement Plans focus on the district’s

Activities and Task Year 1 Comments

Expand online credit recovery and remediation options for grades 6-12

Successfully piloted APEX at the middle school

with one student Plans in place for additional use at LMS next year

Explore alternative program options for grades 6-12

Secondary administrators researched alternative learning options and programs

Conducted site visits to four district program, with plans for one additional visit

Clearly articulate graduation requirements and assessment options to students and parents 6-12

Counselors met with each class/grade level Counselors conducted individual conferences

with each student to plan courses and schedules for next year

Reviewed current procedures and practices for improvement next year

= Year the activity or task is scheduled to occur

Objective 2 – Strategy 1 (cont.) SUPPORT SYSTEMS – WHAT WE WILL DO TO SUPPORT STUDENTS

The Lakewood School District will provide a variety of remediation programs and supports for students who may be at risk for on-time graduation.

Activities and Task Year 1 Comments

Develop effective Student Learning Plans for at risk students in categorical programs

Student Learning Plans developed for at-risk

students (LAP, ELL etc)

Offer Cougar Academy extended learning opportunities as funding allows

Due to decline in enrollment and subsequent

funding issues, we did not offer Cougar Academy

Research and implement transition strategies for K-12 students

• Action plan for transition to three K-5 schools developed

• Tentative staffing assignments made• Progress to meet curriculum, technology, and

facilities needs on schedule

= Year the activity or task is scheduled to occur
