LADIES SECTION By: Jen Evans Tuesday, June 6 Ladies Section regular meeting, 6:30 p.m., Club, Hosts: Betty Meyer and Carol Yost Desserts are greatly needed and appreciated to sell at the Spaghetti Night Dinners . You do not need to be a member of the Ladies Section to donate. SINGERS The 40.Zentral Ohio Sängerbezirk Sängerfest in Columbus May 20 & 21st at the Riffe Center is in the books and your Newark Maennerchor chorus received praise for their performance from many in attendance! Our singers are our ambassadors and represent well! We enjoyed hearing them sing for the gate dedication, as well. OX ROAST The new date is August 26 for the 2017 Ox Roast. Ox Roast meetings are the third Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS COMMITTEE President Mike Lohrman is forming a Capital Improvements Committee. Five members have signed up so far. If you are interested, please contact President Lohrman. BIG changes are coming to the outside pavilion! Please be generous when you are asked to donate to the project! HELP WANTED Please contact Mike Lohrman (740-928-2080) to sign up to work the Heath 4th of July Star Spangled Celebration on July 2nd. We will be selling sauerkraut, pretzels and bratwurst from 59 p.m. This is a perfect opportunity to make money for your club! Looking for help for a rental on June 2nd in the afternoon. This is a multiple gradgraduation party. Contact Jerry Knappenberger (614-778-5915). Clean up after spaghetti dinners is always needed. Just show up around 7:00 p.m.! Trustees need help installing new lighting. Contact Bill Snider (740-364-9808). Trustee clean-up is May 31. If you have a power washer, bring it along! Help and donations are needed for the yard sale June 9. Call Jerry Knappenberger to donate (614-778-5915) or Rogers Shay (740-344-1910). ENTERTAINMENT Frank Jackson reported the May Spaghetti Dinner saw 197 adults and $25 in extra sauce sales. A check was presented to the club for $1,286. LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE Ein Prosit! to Marty Werner and all of the volunteers who worked hard to clean-up and plant the landscape on the grounds. Very attractive! SCIOTO DOWNS Mark your calendars for July 27Newark Maennerchor night at Scioto Downs. Watch for de- tails to come! Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. We received word during the social meeting that Dan Stricker passed away May 23rd at his home. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Dan was a member since 1971. Dan once told our president, Mike Lohrman, “Mike, I love this club. Please keep it going.” Our prayers are with Ed Moats, who suffered a massive stroke.
