The partnership has been established in order to counteract social exclusion of

persons recovering from mental illness through facilitating:

- access to the labour market, - return to the labour market

- working out together with the other partners collaboration mechanisms to assist the final

beneficiaries

The Project is implemented within the framework of Subject A:

Facilitating access and return to the labour market to persons facing integration of

reintegration problems in order to promote the labour market open for all.

Poviat Suwałki is part of Podlaskie Voivodship located in the northeastern part of Poland. It encompasses 9 communes: , Bakałarzewo, Filipów, Jeleniewo, Przerośl, Raczki, Rutka-Tartak, Suwałki, Szypliszki and Wiżajny.The tasks of Poviat as a territorial self-governmental unit include: - developing and maintaining technical infrastructure - developing and maintaining social infrastructure (education, promotion, healthcare, welfare, family support, support of the disabled, culture and cultural conservation, physical culture and tourism, counteracting unemployment and activation of the local labour market) , - maintaining social order and security- land development and ecology

The Psychiatric Hospital treats patients from the whole Voivodship. Its tasks include.:- psychiatric hospitalisation,- healthcare offered to persons with mental problems in various other forms - - - - analysing the general situation of the population in the scope of mental health and planning future actions aiming at: - maintaining mental health of the population - disseminating knowledge promoting mental health, - research and psychotherapy- individual and group psychotherapy,- organising rehabilitation workshops

The Support Centre for Persons with Mental Dysfunctions is funded by Poviat Suwałki. It offers help to day patients from the wider area. The Centre’s tasks include:- helping persons with mental problems,- integrating persons recovering from mental illness with their local community and supporting them in regaining independence and full and active participation in social and professional life- undertaking other tasks resulting from the present situation.

The Centre offers help to day patients. The Poviat Labour Centre in Suwałki deals with tasks related to employment, counteracting unemployment and lessening its effects. It offers intermediacy in finding employment by means of analysing the labour market and meeting the existing and foreseen needs of the unemployed. The essential thing is to offer employers well-prepared staff and job seekers, chances for finding employment. In particular the Centre: -initiates and finances training courses for the unemployed - organises public works-subsidises unemployed persons setting up their own business - administrated dole payment- offers intermediacy in finding employment

POVIAT FAMILY SUPPORT CENTRE IN SUWAŁKI

The Poviat Family Support Centre implements its programmed within the framework of the following sections:

1) The Crisis Intervention Centre operating based on consultation centres located in Jeleniewo, Raczki and Bakałarzewo.

Approximately 40 families from Poviat Suwalki are provided with systematic care. 2) Rehabilitation of the disabled: a) vocational (training courses, financial assistance in creating and adjusting

workplaces for the disabled and setting up their own business) b) social rehabilitation (removing architectural barriers, organising workshops,

sports and recreation, providing orthopaedic equipment. 3) Institutionalised help – collaboration with nurseries 4) Foster families – legal and financial assistance

Psychological and Pedagogical Consultation CentreIt’s a public organisation whose aim is to provide psychological and pedagogical counselling to children, youths and their parents as well as teachers in the scope of education od children and teenagers.

FRP – Foundation of Enterpreneurship Development

The aim of the foundation is acting for the benefit of local social and economic development leading to increased activity of small and medium-sized businesses.

The Foundation acts for increase in economic activity in the region by promoting small businesses and other economic ventures organised by the unemployed or giving them chance to find employment with the view to economic development of the region and consequently reducing the unemployment. SIRT Suwałki Agricultural and Tourism Chamber is a non-governmental non-profit organisation. At present SIRT encompasses more than 160 organisations from 26 communes in the region. These are organisations dealing with tourism, especially owners of BBs and eco-tourism farms from Suwalszczyzna.

The main tasks include:- counselling and training courses concerning tourism- offering recreational and rehabilitation pastimes - promotion and advertising of tourism - maintaining the Regional Tourism Information and Promotion Centre - preparation and execution of projects related to development of tourism infrastructure, including accessible also for the disabled.
