Dear Ced
What’s it like up there? What’s the buzz?I can’t see you, can you see us?
By Peter Gaudio
Dear Ced,
about a year went by since you were goneand I still wonder why, sometimes
it was like a lightning flashing on a sunny day
Our friend Marc on the line and soon tears on my face
from Vegas to Paris a never-ending flighta long ride to see you one last time
trying not to think but strong pain in my heartit’s non sense my friend, won’t be ever the same
My life has so changed after that very daya missing date of that month of july
there’s always time for one last thought to share at the end of the day when resting I dare
dear Ced,what’s it like up there? what‘s the buzz?I can’t see you, can you see us?
what simply was granted it s now put to testOh Father, I m sure he’s on your good list
“another sip of good red bordeaux tooa toast looking up winking at younot much into football but ready to cheerwhen les blues play the world with nothing to fear”

not much into football but ready to cheerwhen les blues play the world with nothing to fear
Dear God,
so much we shared withloud silences, discreet cheers, all sorts of eventsfrom hot sunny o.c. to rainy summer camps
had the same joy, the same joy to livenoble heart, royal blood, funny jokes to give
dear Ced,what’s it like up there? what‘s the buzz?I can’t see you, can you see us?
starting again our movable feastliving our dreams, or trying at leastat the commons or at the parks
drinking life from champagne cups
and Paris did know, as did Oslo and did Prague, the same as did Bremen, Dubrovnik and Milan
friendship will last, will always pull thruno matter how far you ended up to
that summer we spent camping out eastenjoying the food, wine and companywill always lay down as a dear sweet memory
will carry it with me until we eventually meet
dear Ced,what’s it like up there? what‘s the buzz?I can’t see you, can you see us?
Brilliant colors and nice air to breathewith your popeye walk and no more rain underneath
surfing white clouds and peeking thru the only big sky deeper then blue
that s how I imagine you, my dearest lost friend
spreading your wings and speaking your french
one last picture of us left to takein between a big water fall and the clearest blue lake
