The (partial) open nature of existing mobile platform does not mean freedom for users. What's really needed is a mobile platform which belongs to everyone. Mozilla's vision: "the Web is the (mobile platform)". We'll describe Mozilla's strategy to make this happen, with Firefox OS, html5 and WebAPIs, so that everyone, including the 2 billion people that will come online in the next 5 years, can benefit from the opportunities brought by the Open Web.
