Volunteers Morning Tea Many programs and events at Cranbourne South Primary School rely heavily on the help and support of the community. From changing Take Home Books, costume making, working on the Bunnings BBQ or helping in the classroom, all of this participation is appreciated. Without this help and support the many and varied events would not be a success. We would like to show our thanks and appreciation of your efforts at Cranbourne South Primary School by inviting you to a morning tea to be held on Friday 15th December at 10.40am in the HUB. Please feel free to let other people know of this event as we would not like for anyone to miss out. A notice was sent out a few weeks ago for this event. MONIQUE CORCORAN We recently received a phone call from a CSPS grandparent of the school calling to share how thrilled she was in the effort and result of the uLearn Music concert that was held on Friday, 24 November at Lynbrook Primary School. She was very impressed with all the students; their participation and the support they had from their music teachers. What caught her most was that "you didn't have to go to fancy schools to be able to put on such a fantastic performance." She thought the musical performance was absolutely amazing. She was so impressed by the performance of her granddaughter and the entire show that she just had to share her thoughts with us. Well done to all of our budding musicians at ulearn music. School Council Reflection Over the course of 2017, 8 parents and 4 staff members have met on a regular basis as school councillors and members of sub-committees to make important decisions for our school. Their dedication and commitment to this role has been outstanding and it is very tangible to see how our school has gone from strength to strength as a result of a very supportive School Council. As we meet this week for the final time in 2017, it is fitting to take a moment to thank the following people for all of their hard work and over the year: Monique Corcoran, Nicky Cowling, Cameron Dean, Penny East, Karen Halket, Sally Herbert, Deb Ledgar, Kylie Murphy, Dan Rich, Megan Shaw, Emma Slocombe (recently joined) and Rob Smart (now departed). We hope to keep the momentum going into 2018. Jodi Price

Junior school council Charity Market The Junior School Council's first Charity Market was a HUGE success! JSC representatives have been planning the event throughout term 4 as part of their empowerment project and all their hard work paid off! All students, staff and families had a ball playing the carnival games, trying their luck in the lucky dip, getting their face painted or purchasing some yummy food. They raised a total of $1478.15 for Backpacks for VIC Kids! This non for profit charity does incredible work supporting children who enter into foster care. The Junior School Council would like to thank the parent volunteers who supported various stalls. It was a wonderful community event and we are thrilled to have raised so much money for a very deserving charity. Well done Junior School Council!

Year 4/5 Camp at Coonawarra Farm Resort On the Year 4/5 Camp some of the activities we did were the flying fox, giant swing, archery, high ropes, canoeing and more. One of my favourite things we did was Red Faces. My act was called 'Sammy and the Sassy Sisters'. We did our dance to Havana. I think everyone did a great dance or comedy act. I think and hope everyone had a great time at camp. Kasey Stiles Harkin We did heaps of fun activities on our Year 4/5 Camp. One activity was the giant swing. You could go to the very top which was scary but fun. Some people were scared and some weren't. We did canoeing in the Lake, we played gang up tiggy with the canoes and did some paddling. Charlotte Harvey On our Year 4/5 Camp we did lots of activities. One of the activities was the flying fox. The flying fox was around 30m-35m. With the flying fox you had to wear a harness and a helmet. The flying fox went over a lake. Alexandria Sharp 4C The best two activities were the giant swing and the flying fox. On the giant swing, I went to the tippity top. I pulled the rope and Woooosh! I went straight down and kept swinging up and down in a swing. It was crazy cool. The flying fox was so high and so much fun. I flew so high off the ground and zoomed over the lake. Although that was the scariest part of it, I secretly wanted to drop into the water. The food was fabulous. Chef Scotty cooked us fish and chips and apple crumble with warm custard. Yum, it was excellent. After dinner, on the first night, we cooked marshmallows in the fire and played fun games outside. We all sat around the fire and Mrs Nagy told a story about rainbow fire and then put special dust into the fire to make it go rainbow colours. It was outstanding.
