I did most of the community service with my cheerleading squad

On January the 17th and 19th I volunteered to

build a house on Peeples street. The first day I

nailed wood over the ceiling and the

second day I evened out the front yard with a

shovel and rake! It was hard work, but in the end I felt a sense of pride in helping build a

house for someone in need!

VSU Cheerleading ClinicThe blazer

cheerleaders had a clinic to teach

children the basic fundamentals of

cheerleading. Here we are

playing “duck, duck, goose”.

VSU Cheerleading Clinic

We worked with the little cheerleaders for five hours and taught them a cheer and dance to perform at half time.

COA Competition

Volunteering for 8 hours in Macon, Georgia for an all

day competition. My cheerleading squad

unloaded trucks full of spring flooring and mats

and built 2 spring floors…sound easy? Definitely not! Then we had to manage the

competition.

Adopt a child for Christmas

No, I did not adopt a child, but I did

buy a gift for a child who does not usually get a gift for Christmas. The child I gave a

gift to was a 4 year old girl.

She really wanted a princess dress. So I got her a beautiful yellow princess dress with

matching play shoes and a sparkling princess crown.

Volunteering was an awesome way to feel appreciated. I love to help those in need. All the community service I have

done has made me feel like a better person. My favorite volunteering job would have to be the cheerleading clinic for small children. I felt like a

leader, and those children looked up to me. Nothing can express that feeling!

Community service is a way to become a better person and feel better about

yourself!
