It isn’t science fiction…

It’s the Volocopter, a flying product currently in development by the German company e-Volo. This prototype flew for the first time back in 2013, and the e-Volo team is now working toward the first manned flight, aimed for the next few months. !While the title of this presentation might be a bit misleading, since this isn’t exactly a flying car, the Volocopter could potentially bring together numerous features expected in a future flying car: • Stability • 18 rotors to provide redundancy against system failures • Doesn’t require a runway • Battery-powered

What to expect:

• Thoroughly upgraded inner workings • New electronics • More power in propellers • New electronic flight-control system • New battery system

Ultimate Goal:e-Volo is working with the German government to revise current aviation rules, which don’t yet have a category for a light sport multicopter, a process which in turn is going forward hand-in-hand with the product’s certification process. According to e-Volo CEO Alexander Zosel, the product will be certified by flying. !!!!!!!!!! !!!Zosel has been working to develop a hybrid power system to extend flight time to over an hour, with the ultimate goal to completely change the face of mobility.
