WElCOMEAt Central College Nottingham we have a very successful and active Adult Education team who can run courses at community venues around Nottingham City and County as well as in the main College sites.

The types of courses we offer vary from Computing skills to Art and Craft and Personal Development.

We can run a mixture of non-accredited courses aimed at re-introducing people to education and to give adults the confidence to join a College course. This brochure gives an idea of the variety of courses we offer – if you have ideas about other courses that are not listed, then please contact us – we are responsive to suggestions!

The Adult Education team also offer a wide range of pre-employment courses. These are aimed at people who are looking to improve their skills in literacy and numeracy and learn new skills to either change direction in the job market or improve their existing skills in a wide range of employment areas from Retail, Cookery and Administration. The courses also help learners with their CV and interview skills.

The College works in partnership with The Textile Workshop (TWS) and Sherwood Cookery Workshop (TWCS) offering a wide range of accredited courses in crafts and cookery in Sherwood.

To enrol on a course at these venues please call in person to Maid Marian Way or Beeston or call 0115 914 6414 .

Guidelines for choosing a course: Accredited courses are co-funded by the Skills Funding Agency. Funding rules allow each learner to complete a qualification once in their lifetime.

To help ensure learners select a qualification once, each course title has a qualification code attached e.g (HTC), (STO), (JSM). You should ensure that the code is different for each course you choose. College staff who enrol you can give you guidance.

New learners: Can enrol on more than one level 1 course, as long as the course chosen have different qualification codes.

Returning learners: Can enrol on any level 1 course listed, as long as the course(s) chosen have different qualification codes to any NCFE courses previously completed.

For further details of the courses listed please check the website www.thetextileworkshop.co.uk or contact Karen Taylor on 07809 158606.
