The Team has two rescue trucks and two boats, which are al-ways in need of new equip-ment etc. On July 10 and 11, we will be conducting our “TAG DAYS”, on which we will be collecting donations at two locations in Waterford: Saratoga Ave. and Clifton St. (N. of Waterford-Cohoes bridge) and at 1st Street and Broad St. (at the Waterford-Troy bridge). Please donate--every little bit helps, as we are funded strictly by donations! Checks can be mailed to: TRI-STATE EMERGENCY TEAM, P.O. BOX 111, WA-TERFORD, N.Y. 12188. WONDERFUL HOMES NEEDED FOR WONDERFUL ANIMALS
CAPITAL DISTRICT – Capital District Humane Association, Inc. (CDHA.NET) is an all-volunteer, no-kill animal rescue group that has been saving animals of all kinds throughout the cap-ital region and beyond since 1988. Our goal is to place each animal in our program in a wonderful home where it will be treated like a valued member of the family. We re-home dogs with no charge for surrender. Since CDHA is a rescue group and doesn’t have a facility of its own, all its dogs are in foster homes and dogs are showcased at pet adoption clinics held three times each month.
RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVEMECHANICVILLE – The American Red Cross will be holding a Blood Drive at the Mechanicville District Public Library on Monday, July 13th from 1pm-6pm. If you would like to sched-ule an appointment please call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit red-crossblood.org. Walk-ins are always welcome. Mechanicville District Public Library is located at 190 N. Main St.

THE JOYFUL NOISE, “WE ARE ONE”
CAPITAL DISTRICT – The Joyful Noise was a contemporary Christian music ministry well known in the Capital District re-gion and beyond, during the years of 1969-1993. The Joyful Noise was a large group of young people, led spiritually and musically by Mr. Bill Womer. The Joyful Noise was the core of what would later evolve into “Christian Music Ministries”. The positive side of social media, as well as the unfortunate pass-ing of key members, has stirred interest in a reunion of The Joyful Noise, with the recognition, that still, “We are One”. A reunion is planned for October 10, 2015 focused on reunit-ing and catching up. The reunion will culminate with a bar-beque dinner and an evening Praise and Worship service at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Many of the songs spanning three decades when young lives were forever impacted by this experience will be sung together again. We will also be including all the parents and family members in the Satur-day night service who supported each of us during our “JN” years. During these early planning stages we are interested in help locating former members, and identifying folks to assist on various committees that have been formed. Please visit the Facebook page for Christian Music Ministries if you are a former member and want to connect, or contact us at [email protected]

TIPS FOR GETTING YOUR VEHICLE ROAD TRIP READY
(NAPS)—As the weather gets warm, vacationers will begin to set their sights on the open road. Whether it’s to get up close to that landmark that you’ve always wanted to see, visit old friends or visit extended family who live just a few states away, road trips offer great flexibility and excitement.
While just about any vehicle will serve its purpose for a road trip, there are ways to modify a car or truck to make the ex-perience more convenient and comfortable. In fact, the Spe-cialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) estimates that Americans spend $33 billion annually on products that en-hance the performance and styling of today’s vehicles.
“There is something exhilarating about a leisurely drive, whether it’s sitting in a comfortable air-conditioned car with a great sound system or in a convertible with the top down,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA VP of communications and events. “What’s really great is being able to personalize the vehicle to fit the needs of the drivers and passengers.”
Below are a few tips and tricks on how you can make your vehicle ready for your next big road trip.
• To protect the vehicle’s exterior from any rockyweather and/or road conditions, a paint protection film is an effective way to preserve the finish of your car, truck or SUV. For best results, this film should be professionally installed and applied on areas such as the hood, bumpers, mirror backs and other places that might be prone to scratches and chips.
• Don’tunderestimatetheimpactagoodnavigationsystem can have on your road trip. Aftermarket GPS and navi-gation systems with state-of-the-art technologies can be in-stalled in just about any vehicle. Starting as low as $50, there are tons of options available to help you stay within your budget and get you to your destination.
• Findingenoughspaceisoftenaproblemencoun-tered when traveling on a road trip. To make room for person-al items, consider a roof rack or cargo box to transport large pieces of luggage. Organizers for the trunk, center console and on the back of seats are available to help keep items in order and in arms’ reach.
• Awirelesstirepressuremonitoringsystemcangiveyou an accurate reading of your tire pressure at all times. By having sensors on each of the tires, the air pressure can be monitored and sent directly to your smartphone device, alerting you when one or more of your tires is low on pres-sure. This can help minimize any tire problems you might run into.
Regardless of how you modify your vehicle, it’s always a good idea to have a roadside emergency kit in tow. Premade kits include items such as jumper cables, a flashlight, emergency whistle and a first-aid kit. You never know when you might need these things, so it is better to be safe than sorry.
Wherever you’re headed, there are a variety of different au-tomotive aftermarket products and accessories available to modify your vehicle in preparation for a road trip. To learn more and find out where these products are available to you, visit www.semaignited.com.

TIPS TO MAKE FAMILY SUMMER EXCURSIONS A BREEZE(StatePoint) Shuttling the family from place to place is hard enough on a typical day, but when you are out of town for a summer trip or even just out for the day, keeping your ducks in a row can be even more challenging.
Here a few ways to make your excursions this summer a total breeze.
•Usemappingtechnologytoplanyourrouteaheadoftime--butbeflexible.Smartphoneapps that update in real time can keep you informed about road closures, bumper-to-bumper traffic and other road trip snafus to minimize your stress on the road.
•Whileyoumayneedonlyyourthoughtstokeepyouoccupied, don’tforgettopackplentyof diversions for the kids. Book, toys and games will help keep the tired phrase “are we there yet?” at bay on road trips and keep kids entertained.
•There`snothingquiteasannoyingaswatchingyoursmartphone’sbatteryslowlydwindledown, especially when you need it most. Look for a combination AC adapter and travel bat-terychargerinone,suchasPanasonic`snewQE-AL102KandQE-AL201K,whichwrapthetwointo a hybrid mobile charger that can keep you juiced even when you are nowhere near an outlet.
•Ifyouaregoingonalengthyroadtrip, getyourcarinspectedbeforedeparting.Besureyourcar is equipped with a spare tire and the basic tools needed to handle common roadside is-sues.
•Takeyourfamily’sdietaryrestrictionsintoconsiderationwhenyouaretravelingsomewherenew. Will there be menu options for finicky eaters? Some research ahead of time can save you time when the kids are fussing. If need be, don’t forget a bagged lunch for the road in a cooler, along with favorite snacks and drinks.

EASY WAYS TO MODERNIZE YOUR 10-YEAR-OLD VEHICLE
(NAPS)—New cars offer the latest in infotainment, safety and convenience but what if you aren’t in the market for a new ride? Fortunately, there are many aftermarket products that can add value to a car you’ve already paid off, and are often more advanced than factory-installed features on the road today.
“The aftermarket offers an array of options for car and truck owners,” said Chris Kersting, president and CEO of the Spe-cialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA). The trade as-sociation represents the $33 billion automotive specialty equipment industry that includes thousands of products that are available to enhance a vehicle’s styling, performance, comfort and convenience. “Install these items into your older vehicle and you’ll have all the latest technologies to enhance your driving—and your passengers’—experience.”
Bluetooth
Integrating wireless functionality from your phone and other devices is an easy way to add convenience and, most impor-tantly, a safer hands-free experience to your daily drive.
The simplest and least expensive option is a stand-alone uni-versal Bluetooth kit that works with any car stereo and comes with a small speaker and microphone. This option does not require any modifications but is limited to hands-free calling only.
A New Receiver/Head Unit
The best option for adding Bluetooth calling and streaming is to purchase a new stereo with this technology built in. If mu-sic is your major motivation, you won’t have to retire your old CDs, as there are plenty of units that still offer a disc player as well as a USB port to connect with your phone or with a portable drive for MP3/WMA playback, and an auxiliary input for universal connectivity.
Sound
Now that your trusty transportation has some new hands-free audio features, it’s probably time to upgrade the sound quality in your ride. Go for speakers that fit in your car’s pre-existing mounts, and add an amplifier and subwoofer for a clear and dynamic audio experience. Make sure you match your new speakers to the correct speaker wire for peak per-formance.
Heads Up Display (HUD)
Aftermarket Heads Up Display (HUD) units mount to the dashboard in front of the steering wheel and project data onto a transparent screen or a transparent film mounted on the windshield in your line of sight. This allows you to receive turn-by-turn navigation, vehicle speed information, and lane guidance instructions while keeping your eyes on the road.
Portable Navigation Device
Smartphones offer plenty of navigation options, but the latest portable navigation devices (PND) go beyond simple driving directions. PNDs offer voice command, spoken direc-tion, large screens, and real-time traffic updates. Many units even search points of interest from Yelp, Google, Trip-Advisor and more.
Blind Spot Monitoring
Relatively new even in the latest vehicles, blind spot monitor-ing systems detect cars that may be out of your line of sight. The kit relies on two front and two rear sensors mounted to the bumper that work together to detect a vehicle in your blind spot, and an LED display inside your vehicle lights up on the appropriate side when one is detected. An audible alarm will then sound if you then signal and intend to change lanes.
Rearview Camera
Rearview cameras help drivers see what is behind them when the car is in reverse. A complete setup includes a cam-era mounted to the rear of the vehicle, a receiver, and a dis-play mounted on the dashboard. Major manufacturers of af-termarket head units offer camera add-on packages to their receivers with in-dash display, and some GPS units offer the
add-on as well, making the update inexpensive and easy to install.
Vehicle Tracking and Telematics
There are a few products that offer detailed information about your vehicle via real-time notifications from your
smartphone, in-cluding driving habits, fuel, engine and battery moni-toring, and engine trouble code trans-lation. The device will even send mo-bile alerts when the car arrives at a certain location, travels beyond a preset GPS “fence”
or exceeds a specified speed limit...ideal for anyone who wants to keep tabs on their 10-year-old car when others are behind the wheel.

SAVING MONEY IN A SELLER’S MARKET: THREE TIPS
(NAPSI)—If you’re planning—or even just dreaming—of buying your first home, a few tips and trends may prove in-triguing.
According to the National Association of Realtors, home pric-es are up and accelerating because there are more buyers than homes for sale.
Here are three tips for first-time buyers looking to purchase in this seller’s market:
Know your budget and stay within it: Before you start shop-ping, find out what you can afford with a preapproval from a lender so you know how much money you can borrow. When determining your budget, consider the other costs of home ownership, including taxes, insurance and utilities.
When listings are scarce, home prices tend to rise as bid-ding wars drive them higher. Don’t get caught up competing against other buyers and counteroffering above what you can comfortably afford. Winning a bidding war could feel like losing if you end up spending above your means. Stay pa-tient and walk away if the price surpasses your budget.
Identify needs versus wants: No home is perfect and many people have to compromise on features when buying an ex-isting home. At the same time, you don’t want to end up set-tling for a house you don’t love.
Separate and maintain your focus on what you really want in a home against what you can live with (or without). A home in a certain school district or close to your job most likely falls into the former while a kitchen with a fancy backsplash is something you can add at a later date.
Work with a Realtor who knows the area: When housing supply is tight, an attractively priced home will likely draw multiple offers. Find a Realtor with experience serving clients in your desired area. He or she can provide invaluable mar-ket information, including how fast homes are selling and for what price. A Realtor can also help you with a negotia-tion strategy to make your offer stand out. To find one, go to www.realtor.com/realestateagents and enter the zip code of the area where you want to buy.
Buying a home is arguably the most important financial deci-sion you’ll make in your life. Working with a Realtor and fol-lowing this advice can give you the advantage you need.
4 SURPRISING TIPS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE BUYING OR SELLING A HOUSE
(NewsUSA) - Insider tips -- who doesn't love a good (legal) one?
And when it comes to buying or selling a house, it turns out some of the very best -- ones that can translate into big bucks -- are those maybe only someone with Brian Williams' imagination would think of.
Want to know why, for example, Starbucks may be the greatest predictor of home-value appreciation? Read on.
* March is the most profitable month. For sellers, that is. Ac-cording to Spencer Rascoff, CEO of Zillow.com, who mined his site's database of millions of homes in co-authoring the newly released "Zillow Talk: The New Rules of Real Estate," properties listed then sold faster and fetched 2 percent high-er than average.
Buyers, on the other hand, catch a break in December when even New York owners are apparently so demoralized by the cold that they're willing to part with their homes for 2.8 percent less during the second week of the month.
"You shouldn't list your house for sale before March Mad-ness or after the Masters (in April)," says Rascoff.
* Your real estate agent's gender matters. Women, because they're "more willing to negotiate," tend to close deals faster, research suggests. But sellers take note: If you can hold out, men -- stubborn devils that they are -- are often better at get-ting the original asking price.
* A new roof is a sure-fire way to boost a home's resale val-ue. Forget kitchen remodeling. "You could spend a fortune, and it still might not suit prospective buyers' tastes," explains Patsy O'Neill, a sales associate with Sotheby's in Montclair, New Jersey.
Replacing an unsightly roof with a spiffy new one -- better for that all-important "curb appeal" -- was one of the very few projects singled out in Remodeling magazine's new annual Cost vs. Value Report for 2015, rising a chart-topping 5.9 per-cent over even last year's double-digit increase.
In fact, says O'Neill -- and, sellers, pay close attention to the psychology here -- if your current roof really is an eyesore, buyers will be "predisposed" to find a zillion other things they hate about your place. Ergo, those craving the look of luxury at affordable prices should check out the Value Collection Lifetime Designer Shingles from GAF (www.gaf.com), North America's largest roofing manufacture.
* The Starbucks Effect. Don't laugh. When Rascoff was checking his data, he discovered that, lo and behold, homes within a quarter mile of a Starbucks had appreciated 31 per-cent more -; 96 percent vs. 65 percent -; over the last 17 years than others nationwide.

JOB HUNTING TIPS FOR YOUNG WOMENYoung women preparing to enter the workforce may dis-cover a job market that’s difficult to crack. Getting a foot in the door in your desired field is not always easy, but young women looking to land that first job out of college can con-sider the following tips to help them take that all-important first step toward a rewarding career.
•Decideonapath.Blindlysearchingforworkoranyoldjobis a recipe for an aimless search that likely won’t land you a job you enjoy. Choose what it is that you want to do and who you hope to do it for, and then you can proceed with a more refined search that does not include you spending time pur-suing positions you don’t want.
•Don’tbeafraidtoseekadvice.Onceyoudeterminesomecompanies you may want to work for, don’t be afraid to seek advice from people who already work for those companies. Even if such businesses don’t have any current openings, you might be able to schedule informational meetings. Treat such meetings like you would a job interview, asking questions about the industry and what you can do to get your foot in the door. Once such meetings have concluded, send a hand-written thank-you note to the person who took time out of their day to give you the informational meeting.
• Learn from each job interview. Many people, especiallyyoung people just starting out, go through many job inter-views before finally landing a job. Each interview is not just
an opportunity to land a job or hone your interviewing skills, but also a chance to learn what employers are looking for. Many interviews for entry-level jobs are similar regardless of the industry, so make note of your responses that went over well and those that might need a little more work.
•Bepreparedtoexplainwhyyoushouldbehired.Jobseekersshould be able to explain both their enthusiasm for the job and why they are right for that job. Keep your description of your capabilities concise, but don’t be afraid to confidently state why you are the best possible candidate.
•Lookforvolunteeringopportunities.Afteryouhavetarget-ed a field you want to work in, you may find that there are few paying opportunities within that field. But you might be able to volunteer or even pursue an internship if you only re-cently graduated from college. Volunteering or accepting an unpaid internship is a great way to start making some con-tacts and gaining some legitimate experience, and working for free might just indicate to prospective employers that you are serious about pursuing a particular career and not just landing a job.
Young women may be met with a difficult job market upon graduating from college. But there are ways to make job hunts easier and land the job of your dreams.
