The head of the family makes the following marking over the main door of the home. 20+C+M+B-18. The initials designate the names of the three wise men. Casper, Melchior , Balthazar. The numbers designate the year. As the inscription is being made, the following prayer is said: May all who come to our home this year rejoice to find Christ living among us and may we seek and serve in eve- ryone we meet.
