A very warm welcome to Radio Warneford’s 35th annual Christmas and New Yearschedule. Our Christmas guide contains all the details of over seventy hours of specialprogrammes that we have on offer just for you during the festive season. From music topoetry, drama to comedy, we really do have something for everyone this Christmas.

The Radio Warneford Players, a theatre group made up of volunteer members of thestation, have been creating their own unique versions of Christmas plays andpantomimes since 2010 and you can hear many of these fantastic productions overChristmas and the New Year including A Christmas Carol, Dick Whittington, Aladdin,The Wizard Of Oz and their new production The Queen’s Smile. Turn to page 7 to see alist of the dates and times for all of these shows.

12 noon CHRISTMAS FAYRERadio Warneford takes a look at food traditionally associated withChristmas. Linda Ashworth, Margaret Legge and Valda Reid help youto sharpen your taste buds ahead of the Christmas dinner, allwrapped up in a medley of festive music and readings.

1.00pm LOOK WHO’S COMING TO CHRISTMAS DINNERThe Radio Warneford Players proudly present one of their newproductions for the festive season. This is the story of a kind couplewho invite in some cold and fairly terrible carol singers for dinner. 5.00pm THE A-Z OF A VERY 70’S CHRISTMASRichard Smith chooses a selection of festive tracks from the 1970’sfor each of the letters in the alphabet. From Lynn Anderson to“Wonderful Christmastime”, the show features songs from TheJackson Five, Johnny Mathis, The Beatles, Bing Crosby andShowaddywaddy along the way.

Follow Dorothy and Toto’s adventures along theYellow Brick Road towards the Emerald City!

The Radio Warneford Players was set up in2010 to perform and record speciallywritten plays and pantomimes forChristmas. The Players are made up ofbudding thespians from Radio Warneford’svolunteer membership and have nowrecorded a number of specially writtenpantomimes including new versions of“Aladdin”, “Mother Goose”, “The WizardOf Oz” and “Dick Whittington”.
