Established in 1960 Chilfen is a family business with second generation family members sitting on the board of directors and presiding over the business.

Chilfen Group Joint managing directors Russell Childs and Michelle Dear lead a team of over 70 staff, instilling traditional core values along with a modern approach.

With record sales in 2011 and annual group sales exceeding £5 million Chilfen has evolved into a leading player in the commercial and retail joinery markets.

About us


Key investment over the years in plant, facilities and management has transformed Chilfen into a modern, efficient and competitive company.

Our 33,000 sq ft production plant is equipped with state of the art machinery including our new eco gate system.

Investments include management systems and processes to assure effective management of comprehensive projects along with design & development of products.

We operate a self-sufficient facility producing sustainable fuel from our waste product.

We are FSC and PEFC compliant ensuring that we can offer ‘eco alternatives’Projects are undertaken using sustainable materials along with procurement of energy efficient equipment and

Working closely with a major educational interior fit-out contractor we have helped develop a range of modular units for schools, colleges and libraries this along with bespoke furniture solutions has helped Chilfen sustain and expand this area of work.

Solid Surfacing

Solid surfacing has been around for a number of years and is used in commercial situations as a quality alternative to laminates and natural stones.

Solid surface material is a man made product using a mixture of natural minerals and acrylic polymers.

This material Is supplied to us in sheet form in various thicknesses. Solid surface can be machined and worked using the same tooling as used for woodworking.

In house spraying

With our in house spray booth all products are finished to the highest standards using modern efficient spray technology.We can also finish products to any specification using high quality AC and polyurethane lacquers and paints.With the assistance of the paint suppliers & manufacturers we can match a variety of bespoke finishes.


Delivery & Installation

Our fleet of lorries and skilled fitters ensure your goods are delivered and fitted on time with the minimum of disruption, we operate on both a supply only and supply and fit basis.

Quality remains a priority here at Chilfen, we have implemented quality management systems to ensure our products meet the highest standards, products are continually checked and assessed through every stage of production.

Where problems occur with a product we will act quickly to rectify this assigning a member of our team to visit the client within 24 hours to assess and coordinate a solution soon after.
