UPCOMING CONCERTS AT FIRST LUTHERAN: On Sunday, March 13th at 7:00 pm, The Garms Family, an LCMS husband, wife, and six of their children from Minnesota who perform music in the southern Gospel tradition, will perform at First Lutheran, Ponca City. More info on this family can be found here: http://thegarmsfamily.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/The-Garms-Family-Press-Release-2014.pdf

On Sunday, April 3rd, at 7:00 pm, a hymn festival featuring a group of about 50 junior high and high school children from St. John Lutheran in Seward, Nebraska, will take place. Info on their previous tours may be found here: http://www.singboldly.org/tour/

ENROLLMENT has opened up to the public. If you have lost your enrollment papers, you can get a new set by going to the FastDirect login page (www.fastdir.com/flcspc), and clicking on the “links” button on the left before you log in. You can also stop by or call the office and we’ll get you a new set. You only need to pay 1/3 of the enrollment fee up front.

103 students have already enrolled for next year, and we have several new families wanting in. If you already know that you are not returning, please let the office know that we can fill your spot with a new family.

If you refer a family with a student in 1st – 5th grades, and they remain enrolled through the first semester, in January of 2017 you will receive a $200 credit towards your tuition account! Tell your referred family to be sure and list your name as the referring family on the enrollment sheet. Three families earned a $200 credit this school year just by referring friends!

AUCTION DATE CHANGE: THE AUCTION WILL BE HELD ON APRIL 30 DUE TO A CONFLICT WITH PROM PTL WANTS YOUR VOTE: The Parent-Teacher League (PTL) is holding our annual Silent and Live Auction on

Saturday - April 30. (Room Mom's - should be working on their class projects.) We would like to fund the repair or replacement of the Stage Curtains and designate $4,000 to the ECE Playground additions. Please let me know by Wednesday, March 9 if you are against using our funds for these projects or have additional amounts or suggestions. My number is 762-2483. Thank you - Timilyn Crank - PTL President.

GYM RESTROOM REMODEL - We are beginning the fundraising process to remodel the School gym restrooms. We would like to convert the two small restrooms on the South into one large girl’s restroom and the other two on the North to Boys only. The expected cost is $125,000. $7,500 has been given and will be matched by Phillips 66. If you or a person or business you know could contribute, we would greatly appreciate it. (These are tax-deductible gifts.)

LOST HOODIES AND T-SHIRTS: Please write your students’ name on your school hoodies and t-shirts. Many students have the exact same t-shirt and hoodie, and it impossible to tell whose it is when one is found. We

already have one of the new hoodies in lost and found! If your student is missing theirs, please stop by the office to claim it. Other lost and found items are in the cafeteria, so that the kids can look them over each day when they go to lunch.

MIDDLE SCHOOL: Your teacher has information on the radio contest sponsored by Team Radio. This is a chance

for you to write a Public Service Announcement and present it on the radio. MIDDLE SCHOOL MUSIC: The eighth grade sang in church Sunday. We had a great turnout and they did a fine

job. Thanks, Students! The song they sang comes from our school musical which will be presented in April. Get ready for a fine presentation!

8TH GRADE GIRLS! Po-Hi Drill Team tryouts are quickly approaching. There was an informational parent meeting on Tuesday, March 8; please plan to attend. Tryout clinic will begin at 7:00 am on March 21st. Tryouts are at 4:00 pm on March 30th.

Mrs. Goll: HELP! Can you lead our class through our auction project? If you are crafty and willing, I’d really appreciate your help. I’ve decided to retire from the math classroom at the end of the year. I’m sure I’ll still be around First Lutheran in some capacity. I’ve really enjoyed teaching math and know I will miss it. Thanks for letting me teach your children. We’ve had great fun this week with the family Olympics. Our eighth graders do such a fine job of leading their younger students. Have a great Spring Break.

Mrs. Harbeson: Greetings! I hope you all are doing well and are eagerly anticipating Spring Break! I know the kids (and maybe even the teachers!) are ready for a long break, but we still have one week left in the third quarter. Just a few reminders from me... All students must hand in their Wordly Wise and grammar books before leaving for Spring Break. We will be grading folders in class on Friday. If you are leaving early for Spring Break, please be sure to give me your folder before you go. I hope you all enjoy your week next week, and I pray for good rest and safe travels for all! Blessings!

Mrs. Hanson: We made it! Spring Break here we come! We have a couple more days though and a lot to do in those 2 days. I am so proud of all the hard work that has gone on in the middle school with all the projects and tests recently. All science projects should be done and turned in.

All classes will have a normal chapter test Friday. The musical has been moved up one week to April 22. All students have been memorizing songs and the actors

are memorizing lines. If you would like to assist in any way, let me know. After break, classes will resume as normal, plowing through content on the home stretch to summer. In this

time we have to squeeze in ITBS testing, the musical, the track meet, and prepping for finals. So enjoy the break so we can all come back to finish this pretty good school year with a bang!

Mr. Covert: Spring break is just around the corner, and with it comes the end of our third quarter! We also have Easter right around the corner, and things are busy with the end of term crunch time.

In 8th grade, we're finishing up our chapter on the Westward Expansion. We'll be moving into the 1900s when we get back from spring break. 7th grade is wrapping up our chapter on Eastern Europe, and our next stop is Asia. In 6th grade, we're taking a look at the beginnings and spread of Islam, and after break we're going to head into the medieval period of Europe.

I pray God continues to bless us as we move through Lent and as we look toward the cross and the empty tomb of Easter!
