About Me Poster In an effort to get to know our teammates, we are all going to create “About Me” posters. As the name implies, an “About Me” poster graphically represents who you are. You have many options for how you can create your 8.5” x 11” poster. You can make your poster by hand or use a computer. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or Publisher (or similar programs); Smilebox (if you have it); or Glogster are all programs suited to making this poster. If you have a different program you’d like to use, feel free. Requirements: Your poster must be 8.5” x 11” (roughly) Your poster must display your name and a picture of you. You poster must display a minimum of 6 of the following characteristics/interests: o Your family o Sports o Activities o Hobbies o Pets o Travel o Unique Qualities o Friends o Favorite Music o Favorite Movies o Favorite Books/Authors o Favorite Food o Favorite TV o Favorite Video Games Include captions (text boxes) where necessary to explain your images. These are the only requirements. Feel free to be creative in how you meet these requirements. Of course, you are welcome to include more than you are required.

order to use Glogster you have to create a free students account. You must get permission from your parents to create this account before doing so. Once you have permission, use the following Educator Code (2BDU88) when creating your account.

This will

bring you to the dashboard seen at left. Click on the Create New Glog button to load the templates seen at left. Select a template to start with. I used the basic Vertical page. Begin making this poster yours

by adding text and images. You can change the look of your poster by clicking on Tools button and using the various tools. I’ve explained some of the basic tools below:

Adding Images- Use the Tools button on the top to access the Image window. Use the upload arrow to select and upload the images you’ve collected. Then, select the images from this window and click the Use It! button to insert them into your poster.

Adding Text- You can add Text by clicking on the Text button within the Tools window. Text boxes are sorted according to the categories right. Select the box you want and click Use It!

Editing Images and Text Boxes- After inserting either an image or text box, you can reposition and resize them. All you have to do is click on the item. A small editing toolbar will pop up along with arrows along the edges to allow resizing. Click and drag to reposition the item.

Printing- When you are done creating your poster, save it. Then view the glog. Right click and select Print Glog. Once you have printed it, you are done.
