Using a variety of apps and techniques, this workshop explores the basics of both image and text, along with basic user interface design, to build your brand identity and a self-promotional website for your artistic efforts.

ANIMATIONThe Animation Boot Camp The tools and tricks of animation are covered in this intensive workshop where you’ll study the classics to learn the basic principles of animation along with traditional and digital approaches, to explore a variety of storytelling techniques to create your own short animation to engage your audience.

CINEMATIC ARTSTelling Your Story on the Screen Moving images are a dominant fixture in today’s visual culture. Using the equipment and facilities standard in today’s cinema, you’ll learn the basics of film, video, and cinematic theory and criticism, and use them for your own short cinematic production.

FINE ARTSThe Fine Arts Studio WorkshopUsing a variety of themes to work with, including identity, fantasy, and protest, this workshop delves into the role of the contemporary fine artist in shaping culture and making a statement. You’ll get to choose your vehicle of expression, including ceramics, jewelry, printmaking, drawing, painting, and sculpture.

FASHIONFashion Deconstruction and Wearable ArtWorking with the elements of fashion design, including mood boards, croquis, rough sketches, flats and final illustrations, this course will guide you through the creation of an actual garment made from both reconstructed and new materials.

ILLUSTRATIONThe Character Designer’s World Character designers work in movies, animation, game design, toy design and interaction design to bring concepts from their imaginations to life. Students in this workshop will apply character design principles to develop characters in character model sheets that could be used for animations or games, or even physical products like toys.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGNDiscovering the Design Around YouEverything you use every day is designed by industrial and product designers, whether it’s the phone connecting you to your world, the chair you sit in, or the car you drive. In this workshop, you’ll learn the design process used to make those things, and you’ll create your own concept for an everyday product.

INTERIOR DESIGNWorking with Space, Light, Surface, and FormMore than just decorative, interior design solutions are artistic and functional. In this workshop, explore interior design career options with professionals, site visits and visiting artists. Create an interior of your own by learning how to take a concept and represent it with inspiration boards, drawing, sketching, materials, and a final presentation board.

PHOTOGRAPHYWorking in a Digital WorldIn today’s digital world a great deal of what makes an image memorable happens after the shot is taken. Whether it’s manipulated in Photoshop or pushed out to social media, in this workshop you’ll learn digital photography software and other digital tools to share your images with others within online tools that move your work to a bigger audience.

Participants choose two workshops — one for the morning and one for the afternoon.
